一、教材分析
本单元的中心话题是“A healthy life”,具体内容涉及健康的饮食,吸烟危害健康,如何戒烟等内容。这是一篇阅读课,阅读课文主要介绍的是祖父以书信的形式通过讲述自己的年轻时候吸烟的经历,为孙子分析了对吸烟上瘾的原因,吸烟对人体健康有何危害以及鼓励孙子要努力戒烟。学习本文的目的是让学生明白吸烟对人体的危害,所以我们要有“吸烟危害健康”的意识,要远离吸烟,保持健康。同时通过对文章的阅读,丰富了有关主题的语言和信息。
二、学情分析
高二(3)班和(5)班的学生英语基础较弱,使得她们在听,说,读,写等英语语言表达能力上受限制。一部分学生不喜欢开口说英语;大部分学生不能高效地分析推断整合阅读文本中所传递的有效信息。希望能够通过这节课让不喜欢说英语的学生利用一些句型去思考并表达自己的想法;让阅读比较薄弱的学生达到阅读和理解的目的,并运用所学词汇和知识表达自己的观点。
三、指导思想
1《普通高中英语课程标准(实验)》明确指出“高中英语课程关注学生情感,使学生在英语学习的过程中提高独立思考和判断能力,发展与人沟通和合作的能力,树立正确的人生观,增强社会责任感,全面提升人文素养。”“英语教材应渗透思想品德教育。”
2通过本单元的学习,旨在提高学生的文化品格素养,使学生在全球文化背景下表现出一定的知识素养,人文修养和行为取向,这是中学英语学科文化素养的要求。
