知识目标:1.能够听说读写单词或短语:front, in front of, beside, behind, between, above。

2.能够正确使用所学方位介词造句,并能在情景中正确运用。

3.学生配合完成Find and say部分的口语练习。

Teaching procedures
Step1 Review
1. Sing the song “A photo of me”.
2. Go over the words in Part A. Students put the
word cards on the desk. Eg: T: There is a photo/...
Students try to find out the card and clap on it.
Then they should spell it out. Work in pairs.
Step2 Overview
Show the picture in Find and say on page 52
T: What can you see in the picture? Yeah. We can
see a house, a big tree two cats, some flowers, an
old man and an old woman. Where are they? Can
you describe their position?
Task: Let’s try to describe the positions of the things in the picture to your partner.
Stp3 Presentation
1.Present a dog is playing with a ball.
T: Look! The white dog is playing with a ball. Where is the ball? Lead students to answer: It’s above the dog. Read the word. Make some sentences with “ above” : The light is above Jim’s head. ….
Help Ss know the difference between “above”and “ on” by using the real things.
2.Prepare a box and a bag on the desk.
T: Where is the box now?
Learn“in front of , behind, beside.”Lead students to read them. Make sure they can understand them. Describe the places like this: The box is behind the bag. Have Ss introduce their own places in the room while learning one phrase. Eg: I’m beside (I)
am behind…. I am in front of ….. . Then tell one of their partner’s position. Eg: ...is in front of me. … is beside me. … is behind me.
3.Show a ball between two dogs on the screen. T: Where is the ball now? Lead students to say: It’s between the two dogs. Learn “between”. be-tween- between. tw-/ tw/ ee-/i:/ tree, three, bee.
Make up sentences: ...is between A and B.
Eg: I am between A and B. B is between C and me. …
4.Play the tape. Students listen and repeat the new words. Then they should describe their things by using the prepositions.
Step4 Engagement
1.Bomb game. Teacher shows the word cards quickly, students say and spell it out quickly. If he/she is wrong, the others say “Bomb”, if right, say “Wonderful”.

2.Show the pictures that the ball is at different places on the screen. Work in pairs.

3.Discussion.
Show the picture on page52.
T: We can see many things in the picture. Can you tell me their positions? Where is the tree/ the bike/ the white(brown, yellow) cat/ the picture?
Where are the old people/ the flowers?
4.Task time.
T: Let’s try to describe the things in the picture. Eg: There is a tree in front of the house. There is …There are two old people …..
Get students to discuss in groups of four. Then have
a Talk-show. Let’s see who can find more things.
5.I ask, you answer. Show a picture of a room. Students watch for a while. Then students should answer the teacher’s questions by memorizing.
T: Where is the computer?
S1: It’s beside the TV.
5. Let’s check. First discuss the pictures together. Have students know what they should do. Play the tape, students listen ,tick or cross and write. Check up the answers. Then play the tape again, students listen and repeat.
