There are many theories about the beginning of drama

in ancient

Greece.

The on mostwidely accepted today is based on the assumption that drama

evolved from ritual. Theargument for this view goes as follows. In the

beginning, human beings viewed the naturalforces of the world-even the

seasonal changes-as unpredictable, and they

sought throughvarious

means

to control these unknown and feared powers. Those measures which

appearedto bring the desired results were then retained

and repeated

until

they hardened into fixedrituals.

Eventually stories arose which explained or veiled the mysteries of

the rites. As time passedsome rituals were abandoned, but the stories,

later called myths, persisted and providedmaterial for art and drama.

Those who believe that drama evolved out of ritual also argue thatthose

rites contained the seed of theater because music, dance, masks, and

costumes werealmost always used, Furthermore, a suitable site had to be

provided for performances andwhen the entire community did not

participate, a clear division was usually made between the"acting area"

and the "auditorium." In addition, there were performers, and,

sinceconsiderable importance was attached to avoiding mistakes in the

enactment of rites,religious leaders usually assumed that task. Wearing

masks and costumes, they oftenimpersonated other people, animals, or

supernatural beings, and mimed the desired effect-success in hunt or battle, the coming rain, the revival of the Sun-as an actor might.

Eventuallysuch dramatic representations were separated from religious

activities.

Another theory traces the theaters origin from the human interest

in

storytelling. Accordingto this vies tales (about the hunt, war, or

other

feats) are gradually elaborated, at first throughthe use of

impersonation,

action, and dialogue by a narrator and then through theassumption of

each

of the roles by a different person. A closely related theory traces

theaterto those dances that are primarily rhythmical and gymnastic or

that

are imitations of animalmovements and sounds.

Positive interpersonal relationships are vital for optimal human

growth and development.However, in recent years, educators have

expressed

their concern about the ability ofinterpersonal relationship among

students in institutions of higher education. According to asurvey

conducted by Hebei University, many college-age students regard

interpersonalrelationship as the biggest headache.

Increasing diversity and rapid changes in our society make

interacting with others moreand more complex and difficult. With limited life experiences and social skills, college studentsface more

challenges

in dealing with interpersonal relationship. This is especially true

forstudents coming from rural areas. Because of the lack of social

skills,

they are often rejectedby others — and rejection gives them even fewer

chances to learn how to interact with others.

In my opinion, now that interpersonal relationship is important to

students development,colleges should offer courses about comprehensive

interpersonal relationships. The courseshould address the knowledge,

skills, attitudes and behaviors involved in participating inpositive

relationships in the family and with individuals at school, in the

community and in theworkplace.

harmedphysically for lack of adequate sleep. Thirdly, teenagers social

ties will suffer as a result of theimmersion in the virtual world.

In my opinion, the whole society should pay more attention to this

problem, especially theparents and the game industry. Besides, the

youth

shouldnt spend too much time, energy ormoney on the Internet because

study

is their priority. In conclusion, the youth should makegood and proper

use of the Internet.
