AwardsOscars for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Film Editing, Best Visual Effects and Best Adapted Screenplay.Plot Summary and ReviewForrest is born to an Alabama boardinghouse owner (Sally Field) who tries to correct his posture (姿态) by making him wear braces (支架), but who never criticizes his mind. When Forrest is called "stupid," his mother tells him, "Stupid is as stupid does," and Forrest turns out to be incapable of doing anything. Also, when the braces finally fall from his legs, it turns out he can run like the wind. That's how he gets a college football scholarship, and eventually becomes a good runner. Gump the football hero becomes Gump the Medal of Honor winner in Vietnam, and then Gump the Ping-Pong champion, Gump the shrimp boat captain, Gump the millionaire stockholder (he gets shares in a new "fruit company" named Apple Computer), and Gump the man who runs across America and then retraces (折返) his steps. It could be argued that with his IQ (智商) of 75, Forrest does not quite understand everything that happens to him. Not so. He understands everything he needs to know. He even understands everything that's important about love, although Jenny, the girl he falls in love with in grade school and never falls out of love with, tells him, "Forrest, you don't know what love is." She is a stripper by that time.Forrest Gump is treated as a contemporary American cultural classic because of its meaningful and serious contemplation (思考) of its history. Gump lived through the campus sit-in (静坐示威), the Vietnam jungle, and the problems of Sino-American relations. He shook hands with Kennedy in the White House; he sat side by side with Lennon in the broadcasting room; he exposed Nixon’s W atergate Secret and he ran across America. When he did that, he was not onlyrunning across a 30-year span (跨度) of American history, but was also representing a generation’s retrospection (回顾) of the unforgettable history they had all experienced.Forrest Gump covers a broad span of history: sex liberation, the drug culture, the struggle for racial justice and equality, protests, the assassination (暗杀) of JFK and the Watergate Scandal (水门丑闻), a series of important contemporary American events involving persons like Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Lennon. But it doesn’t simply describe a series of historical events and people; it depicts (描写) the changing trends in American society. It declares its negation (否定) of the protests, drugs, sex liberation, Hippies (嬉皮士), even women’s lib and Feminism (男女平等主义) and its reconfirmation of honesty, good-will, hard work, chastity, love, family, the traditional moral virtues, which enhance the American dream. Also, attention should be paid to the film regarding Vietnam War, which gave the American society a wound that would not heal. The movie criticizes this war through the experience of Gump and Lieutenant. Dan. The latter lost his legs in this nightmare-like war, but he finally overcame his physical disability and spiritual bitterness and walked out of the shadows by realizing his dream of owning a shrimp fishing business. What’s more, this movie offers a remedy(补救)for the spiritual disease of modern age and fulfills people’s yearning (渴望) to go back to nature. For Gump, complicated life becomes so simple and clear. So, simple and backward Gump, when confronted with complicated life, just knew how to run and never stop.Scene OneOne night on Memphis Bridge, Forrest follows Jenny over a bridge outside the night club. Jenny: You can't keep doing this, Forrest. You can't keep trying to rescue me all the time. Forrest: They was trying to grab you.Jenny: A lot of people try to grab me. Just -- you can't keep doing this all the time!Forrest: I can't keep it. I love you.Jenny: Forrest, you don't know what love is.Jenny turns and looks over the bridge.Jenny: You remember that time we prayed, Forrest? We prayed for God to turn me into a bird so I could fly far, far away?Forrest: Yes, I do.Jenny: You think I can fly off this bridge?Forrest: What do you mean, Jenny?Jenny: Nothing.Jenny turns and looks at the light of an approaching vehicle. She steps into the street.Jenny: I gotta get outta here.Jenny runs and flags down the approaching vehicle.Forrest: But wait. Jenny!Jenny: Forrest, you stay away from me, okay? You just stay away from me, please.A pickup truck pulls over as Jenny looks at the driver.Jenny: (To the driver) Can I have a ride?Driver: Where you going?Jenny: I don't care.Driver: Get in the truck.Forrest: So bye-bye, Jenny. They’re sending me to Vietnam. It's this whole other country.Jenny: (To the driver) Just hang on a minute.Jenny turns around and looks at Forrest.Jenny: Listen, you promise me something, okay? Just if you're ever in trouble, don't try to be brave, you just run, okay? Just run away.Forrest: Okay. Jenny, I'll write you all the time.Jenny takes a last look at Forrest, then climbs into the truck. Forrest watches Jenny in the pickup as it drives away.Forrest: (Voice-over) And just like that… she was gone.Mrs. Gump walks toward Forrest and sits down next to him on the log. Forrest leans down, placing his head on his mother's shoulder.Mrs. Gump: You come back safe to me, do you hear?Scene TwoOn hearing that his mother is seriously ill, Forrest runs all the way home. Louise and others are on the front porch.Forrest: Where's Momma?Louise: She's upstairs.Forrest opens the door, the doctor stands next to Mrs. Gump in bed.Mrs. Gump: Hi, Forrest.Doctor: I'll see you tomorrow.Mrs. Gump: Oh, all right. The doctor looks down at Forrest's legs.Doctor: We sure got you straightened out, didn't we, boy?The doctor leaves and closes the door. Forrest takes off his hat and steps over to her.Forrest: What's the matter, Momma?Mrs. Gump: I'm dying, Forrest. Come on in, sit down over here.Forrest: Why are you dying, Momma?Mrs. Gump: It's my time. It's just my time. Oh, now, don't you be afraid, sweetheart. Death is just a part of life. It's something we're all destined to do. I didn't know it, but I was destined to be your momma. I did the best I could.Forrest: You did good, Momma.Mrs. Gump: Well, I happened to believe you make your own destiny. You have to do the best with what God gave you.Forrest: What's my destiny, Momma?Mrs. Gump: You're gonna have to figure that out for yourself. Life is a box of chocolates, Forrest. You never know what you're gonna get.Forrest: (voice-over) Momma always had a way of explaining things so I could understand them. Mrs. Gump: I will miss you, Forrest.Forrest: (Voice-over) She had got the cancer and died on a Tuesday. I bought her a new hat with little flowers on it.Scene ThreeOne day as Forrest wishes, Jenny comes back. She walks across the lawn to Forrest.Jenny: Hello, Forrest.Forrest: Hello, Jenny.Forrest: (Voice-over) Jenny came back and stayed with me. Maybe it was because she had nowhere else to go. Or maybe it was because she was so tired, because she went to bed and slept and slept like she hadn't slept in years. It was wonderful having her home. Every day we'd take a walk, and I'd jabber on like a monkey in a tree. And she'd listen about ping-pong and shrimpin' boat and Momma makin' a trip to heaven. I did all the talkin'. Jenny most of the time was real quiet.Scene FourKnowing where Jenny is, Forrest runs quickly to Jenny’s apartment. Jenny opens the door. Jenny: Hey! Forrest! How you doing?Forrest: Hi.Jenny: Come in. Come in.Forrest: I got your letter.Jenny: Oh, I was wondering about that.Jenny shuts the door. Forrest looks around.Forrest: Is this your house?Jenny: Yeah, it's messy right now. I just got off work.Forrest: It's nice. You got air conditioning.Forrest hands Jenny the box of chocolates.Forrest: Ah...Jenny: Thank you.Forrest: I ate some.Jenny picks up a scrapbook and turns the pages.Jenny: Hey, I kept, I kept a scrapbook of your… of your clippings and everything. There you are. This, I got your running.Forrest: I ran a long way, for a long time.Jenny: There. Listen, Forrest. I don't know how to say this. Um, I just... I want to apologize for anything that I ever did to you, 'cause I was messed up for a long time, and...There is a knock at the door. Lynn Marie enters as she opens the door.Lynn Marie: Yoo-hoo.Jenny: Hey.Lynn Marie: Hi.Jenny picks up a young boy from Lynn Marie.Jenny: Hey, you. This is an old friend from Alabama.Lynn Marie: Oh, how do you do?Jenny: Ah, listen, next week my schedule changes, so I'll be able to... but thanks for picking up. Lynn Marie: No problem. Got to go, Jen. I'm double-parked.Jenny: Okay.Lynn Marie: Bye.Jenny: Thanks.Lynn Marie closes the door and waves bye to Forrest.Jenny: (To the little boy) This is very good friend, Mr. Gump. Can you say hi to him?Little Boy: Hello, Mr. Gump.Forrest: Hello.Little Boy: Now, can I go watch TV now?Jenny: Yes, you can. Just keep it low.The little boy runs into other room and picks up TV remote control.Forrest: You're a momma, Jenny.Jenny: I'm a momma. His name is Forrest.Forrest: Like me.Jenny: I named him after his Daddy.Forrest: He got a daddy named Forrest, too?Jenny: You're his daddy, Forrest.Forrest stares at Forrest Jr. He looks so frightened and starts to back away.Jenny: Hey, Forrest, look at me. Look at me, Forrest. There's nothing you need to do, okay? You didn't do anything wrong. Okay?Jenny turns and looks at Forrest Jr. in the other room.Jenny: Isn't he beautiful?Forrest: He's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. But... is, is he smart, or is he...Jenny: He's very smart. He's one of the smartest in his class.Forrest breathes deep. He looks at Jenny, then at Forrest Jr.Jenny: Yeah, it's okay. Go talk to him.Forrest walks into the room and sits down next to Forrest Jr. "Sesame Street" is on the TV. Scene FiveForrest stands under the old oak tree where Jenny has been buried.Forrest: You died on Saturday morning, and I had you placed here under our tree.Standing in front of Jenny's grave marker, Forrest tries to hold back his tears.Forrest: And I had that house of your father's bulldozed to the ground. Momma always said dying was a part of life. I sure wish it wasn't. Little Forrest, he's doing just fine. About to start school again soon. I make his breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. I make sure he combs his hair and brushes his teeth every day. Teaching him how to play ping-pong. Okay. He's really good. We fish a lot. And every night, we read a book. He's so smart, Jenny. You'd be so proud of him. I am. He, uh, wrote a letter, and he says I can't read it. I'm not supposed to, so I'll just leave it here for you. Forrest places the letter down at the grave marker, next to fresh flowers. He steps back and looks down at the grave.Forrest: Jenny, I don't know if Momma was right or if, if it's Lieutenant Dan. I don't know if we each have a destiny, or if we're all just floating around accidental-like on a breeze, but I… I think maybe it's both. Maybe both is happening at the same time. I miss you, Jenny. If there's anything you need, I won't be far away.As Forrest walks away, a flock of birds flies overhead and lands in the tree. Forrest turns and watches.San FranciscoIf you’re going to San FranciscoBe sure to wear some flowers in your hairIf you’r e going to San FranciscoYou’re gonna meet some gentle people thereFor those who come to San FranciscoSummer time will be a loving thereIn the streets of San FranciscoGentle people wear flowers in their hairAll cross the nationSuch a strange vibrationPeople in motionThere is a whole generation with a new explanationPeople in motion, people in motionFor those who come to San FranciscoBe sure to wear some flowers in your hairIf you come to San FranciscoSummer time will be a loving thereIf you come to San FranciscoSummer time will be a loving thereBlowing in the WindHow many roads must a man walk downBefore you call him a man?Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sailBefore she sleeps in the sand?Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls flyBefore they're forever banned? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,The answer is blowin' in the wind. How many times must a man look upBefore he can see the sky?Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man haveBefore he can hear people cry?Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knowsThat too many people have died? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,The answer is blowin' in the wind. How many years can a mountain existBefore it's washed to the sea?Yes, 'n' how many years can some people existBefore they're allowed to be free?Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head,Pretending he just doesn't see?The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,The answer is blowin' in the windJenny因为从小家庭上的原因,她不是很相信完满,她总认为事情无论有多好总会结束的。

For someone, they wish to have the power to forecast future. Because they can be well prepare for the opportunities and challenges and even know the lucky numbers of lottery beforehand. But for me, I don’t want to have such ‘ability’ at all. Life is a mystery and everyone has his own way. I enjoy the surprise of receiving gift from my classmates on my birthday and running into an old friend on the street in another city, etc. There are so many amazing incidents in my life which can’t be happen if I have the power to forecast the future. To Forrest Gump, who was born with intellectual disturbance and muscle problem in his leg, he never imagined that he could become a famous American football player, a war hero and even a millionaire. Forrest won dignity and respect though his strive and perseverance.I believe I can make a better life for those I love though my own effort. Have a little faith for your life. Let’s enjoy our life everyday with dignity, honesty, braveness and love just likeForrest Gump!《阿甘正传》英文观后感篇2Finish watching this film, and Im enjoying. Which, like Forrest Gump in the running when the scenery is really cultivate peoples hearts. Many languages, like the film as thought-provoking motto. Told colorful content. Many of the practice of some humorous Forrest Gump. In the humorous atmosphere, but also appreciate the Forrest Gump of Jennifer affectionate, and the other people moving. In short this is a separate people appreciate a good filmForrest Gump who is unfortunately to be born with a lower IQ and the muscle problem, usually, people always think this kind of person cant be successful in doing anything. But, instead, this unlucky man has achieved lots of incredible success, he is a football star, a war hero, and later a millionaire! In the contention of the best picture of the 67th Oscar Award in 1995, filmHave got six Grand Prixes , such as the best picture , the best actor , the best achievement in directing , adapting drama , the best achievement in film editing and the best visual effect bestly ,etc. at one blow . The film was passed to a intellectual disturbance person the description of life has reflected every aspect of U.S.A.s life, important incident of social political life make and represent to these decades such as U.S.A. from one unique angle. In the film, Forrest Gump is a very pure image, but Jenny has become the degenerate symbol . To all that story, since beginning all behave with a kind of tender feeling and well-meaning attitude after all for the film, having even joined poesy composition, this makes the film seem soft and have no injury. The film advocates to traditional moral concept and embodiment.Make film apt to accept by people, director superb lay out skill and film application of language make the film very attractive too. Success with commercial for film content of the film has given security, and the treatment on directors art makes the film more excellent, this is reason that the film succeeds. It was the box-office hits the most in that year to become U.S.A. in.《阿甘正传》英文观后感篇3After finishing appreciating the film “Forrest Gump” ,I lost in deeply thought…“Life is just like vairous pieces of chocolates that youll never know which one belongs to you”.It means that the orbits of men are quite different besides Gump. From studying in special school to play ball well, being a hero of Vietnam War,being the capital of the lobster ship ,running all over the USA.Forrest Gump achieved success what other normal people admire.Although he was a physical disabled man when he was a little child, classmates often laugh at him,but he didnt bend to the unjustice, active living attitude broughe him his first miracle that his broken legs got well which is unbelieveble.Gump joinedthearmy and was assigned to Vienam. When he was an adule, oneday, his teammates and him were surrounded by enemies, though Gump was the first people run away from the circle, the friendship made him get back andsave lots of his teammates. He was considered as a hero.It is his second miracle. The whole life of Forrest Gump emerge lots of miracles which results from his brave and unafraid. We should learn the truth of life from him and use it to make our life wonderful.《阿甘正传》英文观后感篇4Forrest Gump comes from a novel with the same name. The movie focuses on the various stages of the main character,Forrest Gumps life experiences. At the same time, this movie also includes many famous history events and people in America. It won the Best Picture,Best Actor,Best Director,Best Visual Effects,Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Film Editing of the sixty-seventh Academy Award.By watching this movie,I see a hard man with IQ of 75 try his best to do everything and learn about every parts of American life. It makes me to reassess the U.S.A. and rethink the nature of the past.Forrests mama told him that life was like a box of chocolates and you never know what youre going to get. This sentence moved me a lot. That meant life was full of surprise and miracle so we should have a positive and optimistic attitude towards life.Whats more,it encouraged people to face difficulty . 《阿甘正传》英文观后感篇5This is a powerful yet charming movie; fun for its special effects and profound in how it keeps you thinking long after it"s over. Like others, I"ve seen this movie more than once. One comment I"ve never heard is that Forrest"s simplicity is almost zen-like. I should read the novel to get the author"s intention (I remember some people preferring the book and complaining that no one at the Academy Awards gave him any credit.) But rather than an implication that you should do what you"re supposed to do and believe in God and you"ll win in the end, I see it as zen-like, i.e., living in the moment and not having expectations or particular cravings (other than his loving Jenny.) So he ends up just stumbling into all the major historical events of the time. Granted, he achieves this only because he doesn"t have the brains to think otherwise and actually haveexpectations, but so many of our problems are because we do have higher intellect and desires, which ironically makes us unhappy because we know what we are missing. We love our cats and dogs for the same simplicity and always being in the moment. There"s a line in the movie wondering if everything is predestined or happens randomly or it"s a combination of both. It is something to mull over for a long time.《阿甘正传》英文观后感篇6《Forrest Gump 》was directed by a legendary director,Robert Zemeckis. And the films features T om Hanks and Robin Wright. There is a line in the movie which was said by Agam’s great mom. “Life is like a kind of chocolate. You never know what it’s like.”And this movie illustrates that.It depicts the inspirational story of Forrest Gump,a boy born with dysnoesia, who persistently strive for self-improvement and was finally blessed by god for “stupid people have stupid happiness” and works wonders in many fields. From my perspection, the film was made with great care.First of all,the film used the highest level of computer-generated special effects at the time.Like a feather in the opening and the ending. And the most amazing thing about it was Forrest Gump appears in the old real films. These are very detailed and realistic.Another wonderful thing about this film is its music. If it doesn’t have the right music, this film will lose much of its appeal. It’s a profound movie in any era especially at that time. “The uniqueness of this film lies in that it rea sserts the old moral and social subject culture and promotes the mainstream ideology of 1960s America, while it negates other avant-gradenew cultures. I think that’s why it’s so popular with the American people.”Robert Zemeckis commented. Assuredly, the image of the Forrest Gump subverts the hero image in the normal world and goes against the traditional concept. The film’s director turned Forrest Gump from a phantom figure of history into a real, flesh and blood man.And I prefer to think of Forrest Gump as a child occupying the body of an adult,a sage fool,an ordinary person beyond the real, a little person representing the national character.Of course, this film also has some shortcomings due to the limitations of The Times. But if I were to rate it,I would say five stars. It’s like running for Forrest,in life we have to put the past behind us and move on.《阿甘正传》英文观后感篇7“Life is like a box of chocolates, Forrest. You never know what you're going to get.”Forrest gump mother's this words, in the beginning of the film with this sentence gave me a deep thinking: Every life are in different places there, and is unique there.Forrest gump life movement is it according to this word, such teaching and step by step walk different life path In the film, forrest gump from IQ is only 75 points and have to enter the special school, to master football, to the Vietnam war hero, to shrimp boat captain, went to the United States… Forrest gump with birth defects body, to many people may sound intelligence throughout his life also elusive height. On him, we see the loyal, honest, persistent, friendly these in human nature which is most.outstanding .We also see the persistence of life, a life of hope, faith and the ordinary life, dash forward show the unusual life. So the story always let us be moved, and then let us hard to forget.Maybe, in ten years, twenty years, even more ancient later, we still remember that once intellectually disabled but ran out of the different life's forrest gump.《阿甘正传》英文观后感篇8To be honest, I've never seen anyone like Forrest Gump in a movie before.Forrest Gump who is unfortunately to be born with a lower IQ and the muscle problem, usually, people always think this kind of person can't be successful in doing anything. But, instead, this unlucky man has achieved lots of incredible success, he is a football star, a war hero, and later a millionaire!Forrest Gump not only shares his innocence and purity with others, ,he also manages to retain that innocence through some very difficult times. I love Forrest that he doesn't lose his purity through the movie, or maybe he just can't ,but either way, this shows us don't need to be evil or really intelligent to be recognised or successful. It is just a movie, so maybe it doesn't work like that in reality.A simply means is that the acting and story of this film got a high level like the real . And in my definition that's what a good movie should be able to do.《阿甘正传》英文观后感篇9Some thinking after seeing the film the legend of AghanAfter seeing the movie, I cant help thinking a lot. As his mother’s word, "Life is like a box of chocolates, Forrest. You never know what you're going to get. " , we never lose heart and always go ahead towards our planned goals until we make it.In fact, in the movie Aghan is the symbol of virtue, honesty, seriousness, and courage and he is a very pure and nice man. During the whole movie, what you feel is the gentle and soft feelings expressed through harmonious plots and lines and evenwith some poetic components. Especially at the beginning of the movie, a white and light feather is flying here and there and finally it falls at the foot of Aghan who is sitting on the bench and waiting for a bus. In my opinion, it implies that he is a pure and na?ve ma n.From the movie we can learn half of his life is created by his mother and the other by himself. Maybe he is not destined to be a wonderful person, but God is fair and God makes him realize what the true life is. In some point, some born excellent maybe never appreciate the life deeply like him.Aghan’s mother plays a very important role in his life, or we can say, his mother factually is hi spiritual fortune which influences all his life. As he is telling of his legendary life to a strange passerby when he is sitting on the long bench, he adds my mother says to every beginning of his words. For instance, my mother says, you must know you are same with others and you have nothing different from them, nothing. My mother says, when I do one thing, I just tell myself, I will spare no efforts to do it as I am your mother, and you have no choice. God gives you to me, my child, then I should make great efforts to do it and I make it.He is a very obedient boy and he keeps all the works in his mind. As he says, the man who is stupid can have his own field. When jenny asks him to run, he begins to run unsteadily and at last, he throws away his first pair of magic shoes and at the same time he finds that he is good at running. From hen, he is always running and later, he runs into the rugby team, then university, then his life from the war and then honor and friendship. He has no ambition and of course he also loses a lot. He has only a few friends and he is always being made fun of by others. He knows how to love. Although he is not clever, but he knows how to let the life full of hope and so he wins honor, fortune and love which can’t be got by ordinary people at the same time.We can find that in every stage of his life he has a goal which directs how to advance ahead. Therefore, he makes his mind to try to achieve the goal without distraction. He is a man who has no other selfish thoughts and only this kind of person can smile at the life at any time.As a matter of face, our life is just like this, and just like at the beginning and the end of the film, a white feather is floating. Most of our life, we are also floating without definite direction, aimless, and maybe boring. However, maybe a turnaround can be controlled by ourselves. What you need to do is to make it perfect and don’t mind what you will get and how much you will get and then only in this way will you fly higher and higher until up to the heaven. So I believe his success is anything but a coincidence. In fact, there is nothing in life that occurs unexpectedly and it always follows some kind of rules. only if you have been prepared, wonder is to come. This kind of story always moves us and leaves us an unforgettable impression in our life. Maybe, in ten ears or twenty years, even longer time, we still remember that there is a stupid man named Aghan who is always running and running and at last he runs a distinctive life.《阿甘正传》英文观后感篇10It is said that the box office of Tangshan earthquake has exceeded 100 million, and today is the 34th anniversary of Tangshan earthquake, so I asked my friends to watch it. It's said that we should prepare paper towels for the movie. It's true that after a movie, our friends who went together have already burstinto tears. I haven't spoken for a long time! The magnitude-8 earthquake occurred in the early morning of July 28, 1976. In an instant, the sky turned purple and the houses collapsed. At that time, people were in their sleep and didn't know the coming earthquake. Therefore, countless deaths and injuries. At that moment, the earth was shaking and people's hearts were shaking. However, the earthquake that should not have happened happened happened. Although it was only a few minutes, more than 240000 people died and countless people were injured. In the family described in the film, the father risked his life to save his mother when the earthquake came. After the earthquake, the mother chose to save her brother and gave up her sister's kind of giving up her own flesh and blood, the daughter's resentment against her mother and the mother's sincerity to her husband. That is a true portrayal of all families after the big earthquake. Now, those so-called urban people are running around all day, and the friendship and family affection have been reduced. Now, friends have been used on various occasions, and the word "friendship" has gone away. Moreover, relatives can be betrayed at any time. Therefore, the word "family affection" is gradually blurred and confused.I hope those urbanites can also come and see this "Tangshan earthquake", which can make the ships in the lake of your heart gradually dock. Let you regain your lost family and friendship. As Hamilton said, "the greatest thing in the world is man, and the greatest thing in man is mind." Let our great hearts tremble with it!《阿甘正传》英文观后感篇11Mr. A Gan has his own perseverance, keeping on runningwithout of any reason, JUST RUNS. He said: “Man has t look forward, and never encumbered by foretime. I thank that's the meaning of my running.” Say goodbye to foretime and don't stay in-place. Although so many people in the world are used to follow others and few people can stick to one thing, Mr. A Gan does and becomes “GOD”. There is another character Captain Dan. Dan lost his legs in Vietnarm War. He said that his fate is death in war. However, Mr. A Gan saved him and let him be alive. After losing legs, Dan was decadent and disgusted with life, complaining that A Gan shouldn't save him. When he adjusted his mind, living on fishing with A Gan, he started to enjoy the wonderful life and thank A Gan's help. The movie is intended to tell people that life is wonderful by this character. You never know what you are goanna get.’ Yes, life is full of uncertainty & puzzle. T o Forrest Gump, who was born with intellectual disturbance and muscle problem in his leg, he never imagined that he could become a famous American football player, a war hero and even a millionaire. Forrest won dignity and respect though his strive and perseverance. I believe I can make a better life for those I love though my own effort. Have a little faith for your life. He said: “Man has t look forward, and never encumbered by foretime. I thank that's the meaning of my running.” Say goodbye to foretime and don't stay in-place. Although so many people in the world are used to follow others and few people can stick to one thing, Mr. A Gan does and bees “GOD”. There is another character Captain Dan. Dan lost his legs in Vietnarm War. He said that his fate is death in war. However, Mr. A Gan saved him and let him be alive. After losing legs, Dan was decadent and disgusted with life, plaining that A Gan shouldn't save him. When he adjusted his mind, living on fishing with A Gan, he started to enjoy the wonderful life and thank A Gan's help. The movie is intended to tell people that life is wonderful by this character. 我最喜欢的电影英语作文大学生阿甘正传全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Favorite Movie - Forrest GumpHi, my name is Timmy and I'm going to tell you about my very favorite movie of all time - Forrest Gump! It's such an awesome and amazing movie. I've watched it like a million times already and I never ever get tired of it. Every single time I see it, I laugh and cry and get so happy. Forrest Gump is seriously the best movie ever made!Okay, so Forrest Gump is about this really nice guy named Forrest who has a disability that makes him kind of slow and different from other people. But don't feel bad for him - Forrest is the coolest and he gets to do so many incredible things! The movie shows his whole life story from when he was just a little kid all the way until he's an old man. When Forrest is little, he has to wear leg braces because his back is crooked. All the mean kids make fun of him and call him names, which is so not cool. But Forrest doesn't let it get him down. He's just a happy little guy who loves life. His best friend isthis girl named Jenny who doesn't make fun of him even though she's pretty and popular. Jenny is so lucky to have Forrest as her friend! One day, Forrest gets picked on by some real jerks on the school bus. But he gets away by just running as fast as he can while still wearing his leg braces! Turns out Forrest can run really, really fast. Like a crazy superhero or something! His friend Jenny gets really scared by the bullies though, which makes me sad for her.So anyway, Forrest just keeps on running across neighborhoods, roads, fields, everywhere! He runs so far that he runs right out of his leg braces and just keeps on going. That's when the cops show up and try to stop him, but Forrest just outruns their cars too! He becomes like this running legend that everybody hears about. It's so funny and awesome.Eventually, Forrest ends up at a college where he joins the football team and turns out to be an amazing football player - all because of his crazy running skills from childhood. The football scouts love him and say he can run through anything! On the field, he runs over every player who tries to tackle him. He just busts right through them like a turbo-charged bulldozer!Forrest's mom is so proud of him and gets to go on TV and everything. After college, Forrest gets drafted into the army to go fight in the Vietnam War, even though he doesn't really understand what's going on with that whole situation. I don't really get it either so I'm glad the movie doesn't spend too much time on that part. The important thing is that Forrest saves his lieutenant's life and becomes a big war hero! He gets awarded the Medal of Honor which is like the biggest award you can get as a soldier. How cool is that? But that's not all the crazy stuff Forrest gets to do. He also becomes a Ping-Pong champion and gets to meet the President of the United States! He's like a professional runner, football star, war hero, Ping-Pong champ, and presidential buddy all rolled into one. And the whole time, he's still just his funny self, saying hilarious things without even trying to be funny. I wish I could be more like Forrest and not worry so much about what people think of me.The one sad part about the movie is what happens to his friend Jenny. She grows up to live a pretty messed up life for a while, doing drugs and getting mixed up with bad people. It's hard to watch her be so lost when Forrest loves her so much. Ialways cry during those parts. But don't worry, it has a really happy ending when they finally get married and have a son together!By the end of Forrest Gump, he accomplishes so many unbelievable things just by being himself - a kind, brave, honest guy who never gives up and always sees the bright side of life. He affects so many other people's lives in amazing ways just by treating everyone with respect and friendship. That's what I admire most about Forrest and why he's one of my biggest heroes.Forrest Gump has lots of funny jokes, exciting adventures, sad emotional parts, and a heart-warming message about love and life. Every single person needs to watch this movie! It's so awesome and amazing and I've learned so many valuable lessons from it. Like, you should never judge someone just because they're different. And you should always be篇2Here's an essay about Forrest Gump in English, written from the perspective of a young student, around 2000 words long:My Favorite Movie: Forrest GumpHi, my name is Tommy, and I'm going to tell you about my absolute favorite movie ever – Forrest Gump! It's a really old movie that came out way before I was born, but my dad showed it to me a few years ago, and I've watched it like a bazillion times since then. It's just so good!Forrest Gump is about this guy named Forrest who doesn't have a very high IQ, but he's the nicest, most genuine person you'll ever meet. The movie follows his life from when he's a little kid all the way into his older years. Even though Forrest isn't very smart, he ends up being part of so many important moments in history just by being in the right place at the right time. It's really cool! The movie starts with Forrest sitting on a bench, waiting for a bus. While he's waiting, he starts telling strangers all about his life story. That's how we, the audience, get to learn about everything he's been through. As a kid, Forrest had to wear leg braces because his back was crooked, and all the other kids made fun of him for being "different." But his best friend Jenny always stuck by his side, no matter what.Forrest's mom is honestly one of the best characters in the whole movie. She's this strong, caring woman who never lets anything get Forrest down. She always tells him, "Stupid is asstupid does," which means that it doesn't matter if you're not very smart as long as you're a good person who doesn't do stupid things. I wish my mom was as cool as Forrest's mom! When Forrest grows up, he joins the army and gets sent to fight in the Vietnam War. Now, I know war is a really serious thing, but Forrest's experiences in Vietnam are actually pretty funny. Like, he becomes a hero for saving his entire platoon, but he does it in the most accidental, Forrest Gump kind of way. He just runs and runs and runs, and all his troops end up following him away from danger. It's hilarious! After the war, Forrest becomes a ping-pong champion and gets to meet President Nixon at the White House. He also starts a successful shrimping business and makes a fortune by accident when Hurricane Carmen hits. Oh, and let's not forget about the time he accidentally becomes an inspiration for folks protesting the Vietnam War and creates the famous "S**t happens" saying. Forrest just stumbles into all these crazy situations without even meaning to!But my favorite part of the whole movie is Forrest's relationship with Jenny. Even though they go years without seeing each other, Forrest never stops loving her. Jenny has a really tough life filled with abuse and heartbreak, but Forrest isalways there for her no matter what. Their scenes together are so sweet and heartwarming. When they finally get married and have a son together, I was smiling from ear to ear. True love always wins in the end!The ending of Forrest Gump always makes me cry happy tears. Forrest is such a kindhearted, wonderful person, and he lives an incredible life despite all the challenges he faces. The movie teaches you that it doesn't matter if you're not the smartest or the coolest – if you have a good heart and never give up on your dreams, you can accomplish anything. That's such an important message for kids like me.I really can't recommend Forrest Gump enough. It's funny, heartwarming, exciting, and sad all at the same time. The characters are so lovable, especially Forrest himself. Tom Hanks, the actor who plays Forrest, is absolutely perfect in the role. He makes you feel every single emotion that Forrest is feeling. After you watch this movie, you'll want to be just like Forrest – kind, loyal, determined, and proud of who you are.So that's my take on the greatest movie of all time, Forrest Gump! It's a true classic that anyone of any age can enjoy. If you haven't seen it yet, please do yourself a favor and watch it as soon as possible. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll leave thetheater (or living room) realizing that life is like a box of chocolates – you never know what you're gonna get! Thanks for reading my essay. Run, Forrest, run!篇3My Favorite Movie: Forrest GumpHi everyone! Today I want to tell you about my absolute favorite movie of all time - Forrest Gump! It's such an awesome and exciting story. I've watched it like a gazillion times and I never get tired of it. Let me tell you all about it!Forrest Gump is about this really nice guy named Forrest who doesn't have a very high IQ but is just the sweetest, most kindhearted person ever. The movie follows his life from when he's just a little kid with leg braces all the way into his adult years. When Forrest is little, he lives with his mama in a small town in Alabama. His best friend is this girl named Jenny who lives next door. Even though Forrest has to wear ugly leg braces and gets picked on a lot by the mean bullies at school, he and Jenny become bestest friends. Jenny's life at home is really sad though because her dad is so mean to her.One day, the bullies are chasing Forrest and Jenny and Forrest's leg braces break off! He starts running really really fast to get away and doesn't stop running for like three whole years! He just runs across the entire country back and forth, running for days and nights without stopping. It's crazy! After his big running adventure, Forrest goes to college on a football scholarship because the coach saw how fast he could run. At college, he meets this guy named Bubba who tells him all about the shrimping business. Forrest and Bubba become great friends and make a promise to go into the shrimping business together after college. But then, sadly, Bubba gets sent to fight in the Vietnam War. Forrest decides to enlist too so he can watch over Bubba and keep him safe. In Vietnam, Forrest saves tons of soldiers' lives and does really brave things, even though he doesn't really understand what's going on with the war. When Bubba dies in the war, Forrest is totally heartbroken. But he decides to honor their dream by using the money he got for being so brave to start up the "Bubba Gump Shrimp Company." It becomes a huge success and makes Forrest a zillionaire!Meanwhile, his childhood friend Jenny has had such a tough life. She gets mixed up with hippies and drugs and doesn't make the best choices. But no matter what, Forrest never stops loving her and thinking she's the most beautiful girl in the world. There's so much more that happens in the movie - like when Forrest gets to meet several US presidents just by happening to be in the right place at the right time. Or when he becomes an amazing ping pong player and gets to compete for the US team. It's such a roller coaster of a story! What I love most about Forrest Gump is how genuinely kind-hearted and good Forrest is. Even though he's not very smart, he has more goodness in his heart than anyone. He never judges people and always sees the best in them. Whenever bad things happen to him, he just rolls with the punches and keeps on going with a smile.I also love all the important events from history that are woven into the story, like the Vietnam War, the Black Panther movement, and the Watergate scandal. It's so cool seeing Forrest right in the middle of all that stuff! It really brings history to life in a fun way.The acting is just fantastic too! Tom Hanks does an amazing job as Forrest. He somehow makes this character who has an IQof 75 seem so lovable, wise, and deeply human. It's one of the most iconic and moving performances ever. The rest of the cast is awesome too, especially Robin Wright as Jenny and Gary Sinise as Forrest's officer friend Lieutenant Dan.So if you've never seen Forrest Gump, you reeeeeally need to watch it immediately! It's an absolute classic with tons of laughs, romance, drama, and history all rolled into one. I'm not joking when I say it's truly my favorite movie ever and I'll never get tired of watching it. It has so much heart and always leaves me feeling warm and fuzzy inside. I hope you'll all love it just as much as I do!篇4My Favorite Movie: Forrest GumpForrest Gump is the bestest movie ever! They name the boat after Bubba and it turns into a huge successful company with lots of money. Forrest is finally rich! The funniest part is when Forrest just starts running across America for no reason. He runs and runs and runs for years while wearing those funky old Nikes. A whole bunch of people start following behind him just because they think it's so cool how he never quits. Forrest becomes like a nationwide celebrity! My favorite character other than Forrest is definitely Lieutenant Dan. At first he's really grumpy because he lost his legs in Vietnam. But after making all that shrimping money with Forrest, he turns his life around and becomes happier. He gets cool robot legs and everything! The love story between Forrest and Jenny is so sweet but also really sad. No matter what happens, Forrest never stops loving Jenny ever since they were little kids. Jenny has a hard life though with lots of troubles and bad relationships. But in the end they get married and have a son together before she passes away.I just love all the famous people and events that show up. Like when Forrest accidentally becomes a ping-pong champion and gets to go to China! Or when he exposes the Watergate scandal and brings down President Nixon! That's why Forrest Gump will forever be my favorite feel-good movie of all time!篇6My Favorite Movie - Forrest GumpHi there! I'm gonna tell you about my favoritest movie of all time. It's called "Forrest Gump" and it's just the best! It's got everything - adventure, love, history, and lots and lots of chocolates!Forrest Gump is about this really nice guy named Forrest who doesn't have a very high IQ but he's just about the sweetest fella you ever did meet. The movie starts when Forrest is a little kid with leg braces living in Alabama. His mama really loves him a whole lot and tells him "Stupid is as stupid does." That means it doesn't matter if you're not very smart, as long as you're a good person.Well let me tell you, Forrest is one of the goodest people ever! He's so kind and never means any harm to nobody. When some bullies start picking on him, he has to run really fast to get away because of his leg braces. Wouldn't you know it, Forrest can run like the wildest racehorse you ever did see! He just goes running and running until the braces come plumb off his legs. That's when Forrest meets Jenny, the girl he's gonna love for his whole entire life. Jenny doesn't have a mama or daddy who love her, so her life is real hard. But her and Forrest become best friends right away. Jenny loves to joke around and climb trees and get hurt. Forrest just wants to make sure she doesn't get too hurt.Well time goes by and Forrest and Jenny get older. Forrest joins the army and has to go fight in the Vietnam War. He don't understand much about wars but he's a real good soldier. One time his whole platoon gets attacked and there's bullets flying everywhere! Forrest saves lots of his army buddies and becomes a big old hero. The army gives him a super important medal. But the best part is, while he's running through the jungle carrying all his injured buddies, he gets shot in his butt! Those bullets were smokin' his rear end up good! After that, every time Forrest runs he looks like a crazy fool with his butt flapping around. It's just about the funniest thing you ever did see!Eventually, Forrest gets out of the army and comes on home to Alabama. But his life is all kinds of wacky after that! First off, he goes running across America about a bajillion times just cause he feels like it. Everybody thinks he's crazy but I think it's kinda neat. Then Forrest meets this army buddy named Lieutenant Dan who lost his legs in the war. Poor ol' Lieutenant Dan is real sad and angry about not having his legs no more. So Forrest takes him into the shrimpin' business! Well their little shrimpin' boat gets caught in a big hurricane and they have to lash themselves to the ship's mast. Lieutenant Dan gets struck by lightning and it's crazy! But you know what happens? That hurricane just blows every other shrimpin' boat clean out of the water! When Forrest and Lieutenant Dan get back, they're richer than the Queen of England from catching so many shrimps! Just cause of a little hurricane, Forrest becomes one of the richest fellas around. The best part though is when Forrest finally gets together with his childhood sweetheart Jenny. She's had it real rough in her life with lots of troubles and getting mixed up with bad folks. But Forrest is always sweet on her no matter what. At the end, Jenny has a little baby boy named Forrest Jr. and finally gets her chance at a happy life.Sadly though, Jenny gets real sick with this awful virus. She makes Forrest promise to go see her childhood home one last time. Well ol' Forrest keeps that promise and takes little Forrest Jr. there after Jenny passes away. He tells his son all about hismama Jenny and what a queen she was. Even though it's sad, you can tell Jenny is happy and at peace at last. And that's why I just love "Forrest Gump" so much! It's got lots of funny parts that make you laugh your head clean off. It's got history like Vietnam and big hurricanes. There's drama and love between Forrest and Jenny. But most of all, it's just got so much heart. Forrest might not be the sharpest tool in the sheddy, but he's a good soul who never gives up on life no matter what. His mama was right - he's a real humble and decent fella. Watching the movie makes you feel real good inside, just like life is like a box of chocolates with all kinds of surprises!Anyways, that's my favoritest movie in the whole wide world! If y'all haven't seen Forrest Gump yet, you gotta put it at the top of your watch-list pronto! It'll make you laugh, it'll make you cry, and it'll make your heart smile real big. It's just perfect!。

最喜欢的电影阿甘正传英语作文100字全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Favorite Movie Forrest GumpHi friends! Today I want to tell you about my absolute favorite movie of all time - Forrest Gump! It's such an awesome and inspiring movie. I've probably watched it like a hundred times and I never get tired of it.Forrest Gump is about this really nice guy named Forrest who doesn't have a very high IQ but he's lucky and just keeps doing his best no matter what challenges come his way. Even though kids made fun of him for wearing leg braces and not being very smart, Forrest never lets it get him down. His mama taught him to have courage and be the best Forrest he can be.The movie follows Forrest through different periods of his life, starting when he was a little kid in Alabama. One day, Forrest meets this girl named Jenny who becomes his best friend. Jenny has a really tough life with an abusive father and she gets mixed up with drugs and other bad stuff as she gets older. But no matter what, Forrest never stops caring about her.As Forrest grows up, he joins the army and fights in the Vietnam War where he gets awarded the Medal of Honor for rescuing his entire platoon! He becomes a awesome ping pong player and gets to meet President Johnson. He inspires the "Gump" exercise craze and starts the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. It's crazy how this guy who everyone thought was just a "dummy" ends up doing all these incredible things just by being himself. My favorite parts are when Forrest plays ping pong and all the running scenes where he just keeps on running across America for years! The scenes with the feather drifting through the air are beautiful too. But most of all, I love Forrest's kind heart and his love for Jenny no matter how much she messes up. Their love story is so touching.Even though Forrest goes through a lot of sad things like losing his best friend Bubba and his mama passing away, he doesn't let it stop him from living life to the fullest. When bad things happen, he doesn't get bitter or angry - he keeps the same honest and caring approach to everything. That's what I admire most about him.I think the biggest lesson from Forrest Gump is that you don't have to be book smart or the most talented person tomake a difference in the world. If you work hard, stay humble, and care about others, you can overcome any obstacles and accomplish amazing things. Forrest showed that having an open, loving heart is the most important thing of all.Forrest Gump has awesome quotes too like "Life is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're gonna get!" and "Stupid is as stupid does." Whenever I'm feeling down or doubting myself, I remember Forrest's positive attitude and optimism. He reminds me that you don't have to let your limitations define you.So in the end, Forrest Gump is my favorite movie because it's hilarious, heartwarming, and unforgettable. Forrest is such a pure and lovable hero who spreads kindness and happiness wherever he goes. I wish everyone could be a little bit more like Forrest Gump - then the world would definitely be a better place!篇2My Favorite Movie Forrest GumpForrest Gump is the bestest movie ever! It's about this really nice guy named Forrest who doesn't have a very high IQ but he's so kind and good-hearted. The movie starts when Forrest is just a little kid and he has to wear leg braces because his back iscrooked. All the mean kids call him names and make fun of him. But his mom loves him so much and tells him "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get."Even though Forrest isn't very smart, he's really good at running! One day, the braces come off his legs and he can run so fast that nobody can catch him. He ends up joining the football team and gets a scholarship to go to university. At university, Forrest makes his first real friend named Bubba. They join the army together and go fight in the Vietnam War.While they're at war, Bubba gets shot and killed which makes Forrest very sad. But Forrest becomes a hero and saves a whole bunch of his fellow soldiers' lives. After the war, Forrest goes home and gets really really rich by catching shrimp like Bubba had always dreamed of. He uses the money to buy his own shrimping boat and name it after his friend. The best part of the movie is Forrest's love for his childhood sweetheart Jenny. Ever since they were little kids, Forrest had the biggest crush on Jenny. But Jenny has a hard life with a mean father and gets mixed up with drugs and bad people. Finally, after many years apart, Forrest and Jenny find their way back to each other. It's just so romantic!I've watched Forrest Gump like a gazillion times and I never ever get tired of it. Forrest is the nicest, most funnest character. Even though bad stuff happens to him, he's always happy and sees the bright side of things. My favorite quote is "Stupid is as stupid does" because it reminds me to be kind to everybody. I'm going to grow up to be exactly like Forrest Gump!篇3My Favorite Movie Forrest GumpMy favorite movie ever is Forrest Gump! It's the best movie I've ever seen. It's about this really nice guy named Forrest Gump who has a low IQ but he's a really good person. He's kind of slow but he's also really smart in some ways. The movie shows his whole life from when he was a little kid all the way until he's an old man. When Forrest is little, he has to wear leg braces because his legs don't work right. The other kids make fun of him and call him stupid. But Forrest is really determined and he never gives up. His best friend is this girl named Jenny and she's really cool. Forrest does everything he can to be nice to Jenny because he loves her.Later when Forrest grows up, he joins the army and fights in the Vietnam War. He's really brave and he saves a whole bunch of soldiers. He gets awarded the Medal of Honor which is like the most important medal you can get. Forrest is always getting into these crazy adventures just by accident. Like he meets Presidents and becomes a really good ping pong player and gets super rich by investing money. But through everything, Forrest stays humble and kind. He never lets anything go to his head. The only thing he really cares about is finding his childhood friend Jenny again. Forrest and Jenny have been through so much together over the years. Sometimes Jenny makes bad choices but Forrest always forgives her.I think the biggest lesson from the movie is that you should never judge someone just because they're different or disabled. Forrest has a good heart and that's what really matters, not his IQ. The movie shows that life is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're gonna get! But no matter what happens, you should always be nice to people and never give up on your dreams.Forrest Gump makes me laugh and cry. It's a very inspiring movie with a great message. Watching Forrest's incredible lifestory makes you realize that anyone can do amazing things, no matter who you are. I've probably seen Forrest Gump like a hundred times and I'll watch it a hundred more! It's just such a feel-good movie that makes you happy. If you haven't seen it, you're missing out big time! Forrest Gump will always be my number one favorite movie forever and ever.篇4My Favorite Movie Forrest GumpForrest Gump is the bestest movie ever! It's about this really nice guy named Forrest who doesn't have a very high IQ but he's the coolest and gets to do all sorts of amazing things. The movie takes you on Forrest's incredible life journey from when he was just a little kid all the way into his adult years. When Forrest was young, he had to wear leg braces because his legs were really crooked and weird. All the mean kids would make fun of him and call him names like "stupid" just because he was different. But Forrest didn't let that get him down! He was always really positive and didn't let bullies bother him. His best friend was this pretty girl named Jenny who was really smart and nice to Forrest even though she had a hard life too.Anyway, one day when Forrest and Jenny were walking home from school, these bullies started chasing them and throwing rocks! Forrest started running away as fast as he could on his little leg braces and wouldn't you know it, he could run like the wind! His leg braces ended up making him an amazing runner. Pretty soon, Forrest was on the school's running team and even ended up getting a scholarship to go to college for his crazy running skills. But that's just where Forrest's awesome adventures begin! Later on in the movie, he gets drafted into the army and fights in the Vietnam War. Forrest is such a good-hearted guy that he saves a whole bunch of his army buddies' lives and becomes a big hero. He gets awarded the Medal of Honor which is like the most prestigious award you can get in the military. How cool is that? After the war, Forrest goes into the shrimping business with his friend Bubba's family. But then there's this huge hurricane that destroys everything! Just when Forrest thinks all is lost, the hurricane ends up making him a zillionaire because all the shrimping boats got demolished except for Forrest's boat. He used the money to start the company Bubba Gump Shrimp which is a restaurant chain you can find all across America now.My favorite part is when Forrest becomes a amazingping-pong player just by messing around and somebody sees his talent. He ends up getting to play ping-pong against the Chinese national team in China! Forrest doesn't even realize how gifted he is at ping-pong, he just thinks it's fun. That's one of the things I love most about Forrest - he's so humble and never tries to show off. He just goes about doing his thing. The heartwarming story between Forrest and his friend Jenny is another reason I love this movie so much. No matter what, Forrest always cares about Jenny with all his heart ever since they were little kids. Even when Jenny makes some not so good decisions in her life, Forrest is always there for her because that's what true friendship means to him. By the end of the movie, their story had me smiling but also crying happy tears.Forrest Gump just has so many exciting, funny, and meaningful moments throughout the whole movie. The actor who plays Forrest, Tom Hanks, does such an incredible job. He makes you feel like you really know Forrest as a person. Anytime I'm feeling sad, I can turn on this movie and it instantly puts me in a better mood. I've watched it like a million times already and it never ever gets old to me!If you haven't seen Forrest Gump yet, you are seriously missing out! It's an absolute must-watch classic with tons of hilarious parts but also a beautiful message about love, courage, and staying true to yourself no matter what. Forrest shows that you don't have to be book smart to make a positive difference in the world. As long as you keep a good heart and never give up on your hopes and dreams, you can accomplish amazing feats just like him. That's why Forrest Gump will forever be my #1 favorite movie of all time!篇5My Favorite Movie Forrest GumpI really really love the movie Forrest Gump! It's my favorite movie ever. Forrest is the main character and he's played by Tom Hanks. He's such a nice guy and I want to be his friend. The movie starts when Forrest is a little kid living in Alabama. He also plays ping pong for the US Army team and becomes a champion! After the war, Forrest goes on this epic run across the entire country for years. It's supposed to be because he felt like running, but I think he was working through some stuff mentally too. People start following him while he's running, carrying signs and chanting his name like he's some wise guru or something.Eventually, Forrest goes into the shrimping business with his friend Lieutenant Dan. At first they don't catch anything because Dan doesn't believe in Forrest's ability. But then they accidentally come across a huge number of shrimp and get really really rich. Lieutenant Dan was so mean to Forrest at first but then learns to love him like a brother. The love story between Forrest and Jenny is a big part of the movie too. Even though Jenny treated Forrest badly sometimes by abandoning him or doing drugs, Forrest never stopped caring about her. He waited patiently for her his whole life. At the very end when Jenny gets sick, Forrest finally gets to marry her and have a son together before she passes away.I just love Forrest's innocence and kindness. He faces so many challenges in life like being mentally disabled, getting bullied, going to war, and losing his mom and Jenny. But he stays positive through it all and good things happen to him because he has such a pure heart. The movie makes me laugh and cry every time. I've probably watched it like 20 times already! Forrest is just an ordinary guy who gets to do extraordinary things. If you haven't watched Forrest Gump yet, you really really should. It will make you laugh and cry and feel very inspired. I wish I could be as kind and optimistic as Forrest Gump. He's the best movie character of all time in my opinion. I give Forrest Gump a million out of ten stars! It's that amazing.。
The Economic Effect of the Vietnam WarBefore further discussion of war, we need a clear understanding of what war is. In our daily life, war may occur between people, companies or states. Here the war that we are going to discuss means the armed conflicts between states.Although wars are harmful to the development of human society, just wars do have positive functions to the development of human society.First, wars are a kind of driving force that promotes the development of human society. Wars would have direct impact on the conditions of productivity and social system. Wars of revolution could destroy the old social system which prevents the development of productivity, and then give opportunity for their further improvement. Wars lead to revolutions, revolutions change the social system, and the new social system has a positive impact on the development of social productivity and then pushes the human society into a more advanced level.Second, wars have the political function for further political development. Wars are a kind of powerful instrument for political struggles. The social political function of wars is to uncover the political conflicts, remove the political obstacles and then push forward the political development.Third, wars have the economic function of seeking economic benefits, which will be discussed by virtue of the Vietnam War.Fourth, wars have the educational function of rebuilding the society and educating the people. The U.S. government viewed American involvement in the war as a way to prevent a Communist takeover of South Vietnam. This was part of a wider containment strategy, with the stated aim of stopping the spread of communism.Though this war constrained the fast development of Communist at that time, however, it caused great instability and political crisis to US society. Furthermore, with the upgrading of the Vietnam War, the economy of US fell into deep difficulties. It is said that Vietnam War made U.S. go into economic depression. This argument is standing on several points:a.Direct cost: based on U.S. Office of Budget and Management’s calculation, thetotal military cost of U.S. during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1973 was 134.7 billion U.S. dollars, with the lowest year in 1965 of 100 million U.S. dollars, and the highest in 1968 of 28.8 billion U.S. dollars, and the annual average cost was14.97 billion U.S. dollars. (Anthony, 83) (Department of Commerce, 1-5).b.Indirect cost: because the Vietnam War broke out in Vietnam with no impact onU.S. territory, thus the major indirect cost was human loss. There were about 58,000 U.S. soldiers died during this war. 47,000 died in the battle, while others died of other reasons, such as accidents. More than 300,000 soldiers were injured in this war. (Stanley, 342).Another hot issue regarding the indirect cost is the veterans. The U.S. government paid compensation to these veterans. People argued whether the compensation for veterans should be calculated in the indirect cost. However, the total compensation for the veterans from the Vietnam War was 220 billion U.S. dollars. (Anthony, 99)From these statistics above, indeed the Vietnam War caused great economic cost to U.S. But compared to the World War I and World War II, the participated soldiers, the military cost and the casualties of the Vietnam War were much lower. What’s more, some scholars believed that this war kept the economic prosperity of U.S. to some extent. The rapidly increase of military cost in the Vietnam War greatly promoted the U.S. economy, and created a good environment for private consumption and investment.(Helmut and Helfried, 290). From the report of New York Federal Reserve Bank, 25% of the newly increased GDP in 1966 was created by the expansion of national defense. (Weidenbaum, 28) On the other hand, this war promoted employment. In 1960s, the unemployment rate of U.S. was much high, while with the beginning of the Vietnam War, it decreased apparently, and from 1966 to 1969 the unemployment rate was less than 4%. From 1965 to 1968, 7.7 million new jobs were created, and 32% of these new jobs (2.4 million) were produced by military and national defense industry. The Vietnam War did make great trouble to U.S., but it did not basically threatened to U.S. economy, military and political power. The impact of this war on politics and society of U.S was much greater than the impact on economy. This war might accelerate the depression or stagnation of the temporal economy of U.S., but it was not the major reason or determinant for the economic difficulties at that time. Therefore, from the economic effect of the Vietnam War on U.S. economy, it is hard to praise or condemn the US’s involvement in the Vietnam War.Works CitedAnthony S.
