基于主题语境的高中英语词汇教学——以人教版必修三Unit 2为例摘要:词汇是语言学习的基础,但词汇教学脱离主题语境、忽略词汇与主题意义关系等问题在高中英语词汇教学中普遍存在。
主题语境是学习语言知识与技能的场域依托,高中英语词汇应基于单元主题语境,在提取信息和处理信息的过程中自然习得词汇,将知识和技能的提升融入到主题语境中。
本文以人教版必修三Unit 2为例,分析基于单元主题,如何结合单元主题语境处理词汇,最终实现词汇内化。
关键词:主题语境;词汇教学;单元词汇英国语言学家David Wilkins曾说,“Without grammar very little can be conveyed, without vocabulary nothing can be conveyed”。
由此可见,词汇的重要性不言而喻。
《普通高中英语课程标准(2017版2020年修订)》(以下简称《课标》)指出,“词汇的学习不是单纯的记忆,也不是独立的词语操练,而是结合具体主题,在特定的语境下开展的综合性语言实践活动。
”(教育部2020)。
一、当前词汇教学的主要问题词汇教学脱离语境,忽视与主题意义的关系一直存在。
教学前,教师要求学生划出语篇中生词并进行释义标注;也有教师基于词汇表带学生浏览整个单元的生词和短语,简单处理词汇的语音、词义和派生词汇。
读后,教师往往根据自己的经验挑选一些考试中常出现的,或用法丰富的词汇进行仔细讲解,给例句、完成单词填空或翻译练习是常用的方式。
此外,一些教师认为词汇教学的目标是学生会写,会英汉互译或选择正确词汇,因此听写、选词填空和翻译单词或句子是这些教师进行词汇教学的主要手段。
但这些词汇教学和评价形式因脱离语境,且缺乏词汇学习策略指导,不仅会阻碍学生语用能力的发展,也会削弱学生语言学习热情。
二、基于主题语境的高中英语词汇教学实践“主题语境不仅规约着语言知识和文化知识的学习范围,还为语言学习提供意义语境,并有机渗透情感、态度和价值观。
