December is good time to research & prepare for student access. Connecting to Classroom: English Language Literacy is a major goal with frequent opportunities for varied reading materials & written/oral expression (letters, persuasive essays, articles, editorials etc.). In accordance with Real World preparation, students should independently conduct preparatory activities (plan, phone, arrange community meetings, events, etc.) with teacher guidance.Note: All documents accompanying Final Project Product should be in English. Directions, etc. crafted in another language for bilingual students, should include English translations.Connecting to Community (Service):Spell out how students will serve, do, help, perform good deeds (and for whom), etc.For example, if they will share information, how? School Newspaper? Library Poster? Article for Local Newspaper? Contributions to Citywide Newspaper? Interactive Web Site? Contest? This section demonstrates how students apply their classroom learning toans wer a community need.Connecting to Careers: Adult Connections & Strategies should be articulated: What careers will students learn about? How? Observations? Interviews? Reading specific books? Internet Research? Round Table Discussions? Forums? Work Site Vis its Technology Production: Flyers, Brochures, Digital Photo Collages, Slide Shows, Board Preparation, etc. should appear under Classroom Activities.
