英语天才是怎样练成的作文How Genius is Made。
Genius is often thought of as something innate, a gift that some people are simply born with. However, this view overlooks the fact that genius is also the result of hard work, dedication, and a willingness to take risks. In this essay, I will explore the ways in which genius is made, drawing on examples from history and contemporary life. One of the most important factors in the making of a genius is practice. It is often said that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to become an expert in any field, andthis is certainly true of many of the great geniuses of history. For example, Mozart, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest composers of all time, began composing atthe age of five and by the time he was a teenager had already written a number of masterpieces. However, this was not simply a matter of innate talent; Mozart practiced for hours every day, honing his skills and perfecting his craft.Another key factor in the making of a genius is dedication. Many of the greatest geniuses in history were single-minded in their pursuit of excellence, devoting allof their time and energy to their chosen field. For example, Leonardo da Vinci, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest artists and inventors of all time, workedtirelessly throughout his life, constantly experimentingand exploring new ideas. His notebooks are filled with sketches, diagrams, and writings that reveal the depth ofhis curiosity and his commitment to his work.A third factor that is essential to the making of a genius is a willingness to take risks. Many of the greatest geniuses in history were not afraid to challenge convention and try new things, even if it meant going against the prevailing wisdom of their time. For example, Galileo, whois widely regarded as one of the greatest scientists of all time, challenged the prevailing belief that the Earth was the center of the universe and instead argued that it revolved around the sun. This was a radical idea at the time, and Galileo was persecuted for it, but hiswillingness to take risks and challenge convention ultimately led to a revolution in our understanding of the universe. In conclusion, genius is not simply a matter of innate talent; it is the result of hard work, dedication, and a willingness to take risks. Whether we are talking about Mozart, da Vinci, or Galileo, the great geniuses of history all shared these qualities, and it is these qualities that continue to inspire us today. So if you want to become a genius, don't just rely on your innate talent; practice, dedicate yourself to your work, and be willing to take risks. With hard work and perseverance, you too can achieve greatness.。

如何通过阅读来提升你的英语成绩的英语作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1How to Become a Better English Reader and ScorerHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm a 5th grader who loves reading books. Reading has helped me get really good grades in English class too. It's kind of like a superpower! If you want to level up your English skills, reading is one of the best ways to do it. Let me share some tips that have worked for me.First up, you gotta find books you actually like reading. That's super important! If you pick boring books, you'll just end up spacing out and not really paying attention. But with awesome books on topics you care about, reading becomes way more fun.For me, I'm really into fantasy adventure stories with magic, mythical creatures, and heroes going on epic quests. My favorite series is The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. I've read those books like a dozen times! I just can't get enough of the talking animals, the evil White Witch, and the kids going between our world and the magical land of Narnia. So awesome! But maybe you're more into realistic fiction books about kids like you. Or maybe you prefer non-fiction books about dinosaurs, space, or whatever else you're obsessed with. The key is picking books that excite your imagination and keep you turning those pages.Once you've got some great book options, it's time to read, read, read! Don't just skim through quickly. You've got to slow down and really absorb what you're reading. As you read each page, use your brain's awesome imagery powers to visualize everything happening vividly in your mind's eye. Make those characters, places, and events come alive like your own personal movie! If you hit a word you don't know, don't just gloss over it. Stop, think about the context, and try to figure out the meaning from the sentences around it. You can also look words up in the dictionary. Building your vocabulary is a huge part of leveling up your English mastery. Also get in the habit of reading out loud sometimes instead of just in your head. Hearing the words and feeling them in your mouth helps lock everything in. And don't be afraid to go back and re-read sections if you zoned out or didn't quite grasp whatwas happening. The more actively engaged you are with the text, the more it will stick. After you finish a book, spend a few minutes summarizing the key events that happened in your mind or out loud. You can even write up a little book report hitting the main points of the storyline and your overall thoughts about it. Doing this really solidifies your comprehension.Reading tons of books will gradually make you more fluent in recognizing vocabulary, comprehending passages, grasping idioms and phrases, and just understanding how the English language flows in general. It's like a full immersion English course, but way more fun than boring textbook lessons. The coolest part is how reading can inspire you to become a better writer yourself. All those books swirling around in your brain give you a vast pool of examples to draw from when it's time for you to put pencil to paper (or fingers to keyboard). You'll start crafting juicier sentences, funnier jokes, crisper descriptions, and more engaging stories. Pretty much every author you admire was a voracious reader first. It also really helps to read books that are just a little too difficult for your current level. Having to work harder to comprehend stretches your skills. But don't go too far beyondyour level or you'll get frustrated. A challenging but not impossible book is perfect.Reading out loud with parents or teachers who can help illuminate parts you're struggling with is another huge advantage. Their guidance and explaining unfamiliar phrases or references goes a long way. You can even discuss cool plots, favorite characters, or mind-blowing events after each chapter or book. Talking it out cements your understanding.Just make sure you schedule reading time every single day without fail. Even just 20-30 minutes per day of fully engaged reading adds up quickly over weeks and months. If you stay committed, the growth in your English skills will amaze you! You might start leaving your friends and family's jaws on the floor with your wit and verbal flair. The bottom line is: don't just think of reading as a homework chore. Embrace it as a magical portal to incredible worlds that will inspire you, educate you, and yes, make your English abilities skyrocket! Pretty soon you'll be streaking past everyone in your English classes and standardized test scores. The bookworm always wins in the end!So that's my advice in a nutshell. Let me know if any part of it was confusing or if you need any other tips. I may be just a10-year-old kid, but riding the reading rails has made me wise beyond my years when it comes to conquering the English language. Get cracking on those books and I'll see you at the top of the class!篇2How to Boost Your English Grades by Reading MoreHey guys! I'm just a regular kid like you, but I've figured out a super cool trick to get better grades in English class. It's so simple, you'll be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner. The secret? Read more books!I know, I know. Reading can seem pretty boring, especially when you've got video games, YouTube, and all sorts of other fun stuff competing for your attention. But trust me, once you get into the habit of reading, it becomes way more enjoyable than you'd think.Reading has helped me in so many ways with English class. First off, it's expanded my vocabulary like crazy. Whenever I come across a word I don't know, I'll look it up and try to remember its meaning. After reading a couple books, you start recognizing all these new words you've learned. Using fancier vocabulary in essays and on tests gives me a huge advantage. It's also made me a much better writer overall. The more you read well-written stories, the more you start to understand how to put sentences together in a clear, engaging way. I used to struggle with writing assignments, but now the words just flow onto the page. My teacher constantly compliments me on how descriptive and creative my writing has become. But reading doesn't just help with vocabulary and writing - it's also a huge boost for reading comprehension. You'd be amazed at how many tricks and strategies for understanding complex passages I've picked up simply from reading lots of books. Things like identifying the main idea, making inferences, and analyzing the author's purpose have become second nature. Reading comprehension questions that used to stump me are now a breeze. The best part? Reading is fun! There are so many incredible books out there just waiting to be discovered. I've been transported to faraway lands, gone on epic adventures, and seen the world through the eyes of characters from all walks of life - all from the comfort of my cozy little reading nook. Getting lost in the pages of a gripping story is way more entertaining than you might expect. If you're thinking, "Yeah, yeah, reading is great...but I just don't have time for it," then let me let you in on a few secrets. Firstly, you can read anywhere - on the bus, waiting in line, even during commercial breaks! I always keep a book nearby so I can sneak in a few pages whenever I get a chance.Secondly, you don't have to dive into massive, intimidating novels right away. There are tons of excellent short stories, magazine articles, graphic novels, and easy-to-read series that are great stepping stones. Start small and work your way up.Finally, reading gets easier and more enjoyable the more you do it. Those first few books might be a bit of a struggle as you build your stamina, but soon you'll be breezing through them and wanting more. It's just like exercise - the hardest part is starting! Now for some book recommendations to get you hooked on reading. For adventure lovers, I'd suggest books like Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, or Holes. If you're into mystery and suspense, give A Series of Unfortunate Events or The Westing Game a try. Personal favorite funny books of mine are Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The BFG, and Matilda. But those are just the tip of the iceberg - ask your teacher or parents for more suggestions tailored to your interests. The bottom line is, reading is a surefire way to skyrocket your English grades. It improves vocabulary, writing skills, reading comprehension, and makes you appreciate the power and beauty of the English language. Plus, it's just straight-up fun once you find the right books. What have you got to lose?So next time you've got some free time, instead of zoning out in front of a screen, pick up a book. Get lost in its pages. Before you know it, reading will become your new favorite hobby - one that enriches your mind and boosts your grades along the way. Just give it a shot, I promise you won't regret it! Your future English teacher self will thank me.篇3How to Boost Your English by Reading Lots and Lots!Hi there! My name is Jamie and I'm in 5th grade. I used to really struggle with English class. Reading was super hard for me and I just couldn't seem to remember all those new vocabulary words or understand what I was reading about. My grades were not looking too good. But then something amazing happened - I discovered the power of reading! Once I started reading more books, stories, magazines, anything I could get my hands on really, my Englishskills shot way up. I went from being one of the lowest kids in my class to one of the highest! Reading has been like a rocket booster for my English. If you're finding English class difficult too, I want to share my own tips for using reading to become an English superstar. Get ready to have your mind blown by how quickly you can level up your vocabulary, comprehension, writing abilities and more, just by picking up books!Tip #1: Read, read, read (and then read some more!)This one is obvious but so important. You have to read as much as humanly possible if you want reading to really benefit your English. I'm talking books, comics, newspapers, magazines, websites, cereal boxes...anything with words on it! The more you read, the more exposed you'll be to vocabulary, grammar, idioms and everything else. It's like a workout for your brain.Tip #2: Have fun with itDon't just read boring textbooks or stuff you're forced to read for school. That's no fun at all! Instead, read things you actually enjoy like fiction novels, comic books, magazines about sports or video games...whatever lights your fire. When reading is fun and interesting, you'll read way more. And the moreentertaining the book is, the more you'll get sucked into it and absorb the language like a sponge without even realizing it.Tip #3: Mix it upWhile reading stuff you love is great, you'll learn even faster if you mix in all different types of reading materials. Novels, comics, websites, newspapers, audio books, you name it. That way you'll learn vocabulary and grammar from stories, pick up formal language from newspapers, get exposed to different writing styles across authors, and more. Don't get stuck in a rut - keep那your reading mix fresh!Tip #4: Look up words you don't knowWhenever you come across a word you've never seen before, don't just skip over it! That's a missed opportunity to learn. Stop, look it up in the dictionary or online, and write it down. You could even start a vocabulary notebook or flashcards for new words. Getting in the habit of investigating words you're unfamiliar with will add so many new entries to your personal word bank.Tip #5: Ask for help when you're stuckReading can be confusing sometimes, especially if a book uses really advanced vocabulary or refers to culture stuff you'renot familiar with yet. That's ok! Don't just give up. Ask a parent, teacher or friend who's good at English for help. They can explain that tricky part so you can continue enjoying your book. The more you understand, the more you'll get out of each reading experience.Tip #6: Read out loudThis one might feel a bit silly, but hear me out. Reading out loud to yourself (or even better - reading aloud to a parent or friend!) is awesome for your English. It'll help lock in vocabulary by connecting the words to sounds. It's great practice with pronunciation too. You'll also catch mistakes more easily when you hear yourself saying something incorrectly.Tip #7: Take it step-by-stepDon't try to jump ahead too quickly to really difficult reading materials. Start with easier stuff like kids' books or young adult novels. Once you've got those down, you can level up to adult books, advanced newspapers and academic texts. Goingstep-by-step helps you build a really solid foundation.Tip #8: Keep track of your progressEach time you finish reading a book, give yourself a big pat on the back! You can even start a reading log or journal to keeptrack of all the books you've read and new words you've learned. Seeing your progress in black and white is super motivating and will inspire you to read even more.Tip #9: Talk about what you readHaving conversations about the books, articles or other reading materials you've enjoyed is awesome for solidifying your English skills. You'll get practice summarizing the plot, analyzing the characters, debating different viewpoints and more. It's a fun way to flex those English muscles!Tip #10: Be patient and have fun!The most important tips are to be patient with yourself as you're learning, and to have as much fun as possible with reading! Just keep turning those pages!Well, those are my personal top 10 tips for using reading to skyrocket your English abilities. I always do well on the writing and grammarsections of English tests because reading has helped solidify these skills.Expand Your General KnowledgeMany books, especially non-fiction, contain tons of interesting information about different subjects like science, history, and cultures. Reading expands your general knowledge about the world. Having a broad base of background knowledge makes it easier to understand the context and content in English passages. It also gives you more ideas to write about for English essay questions. The more you read, the more you'll know!Develop Stronger Analytical ThinkingTo truly understand books, especially novels with deeper meanings, you have to analyze things like plot, characters, themes, and metaphors. Reading quality literature exercises your analytical thinking abilities. You'll get practice interpreting the author's intentions and reading between the lines. Carry a book everywhere you go so you'll always have something to read. Pick reading materials about topics that fascinate you so you'll stay engaged. 英语阅读翻译-天才养成攻略Part car, part jet fighter, part spaceship, Bloodhound SSC aims to be the first land vehicle to break the 1,000mph barrier. One of the key challenges has been to design the wheels. How do you create the fastest wheels in history, make them stable and reliable at supersonic speeds, and with limited resources?部分汽车、部分喷气式飞机、部分宇宙飞船,猎犬号超级汽车的目标是做世界上第一辆时速突破1000英里的汽车。
而这面临的一项关键挑战是车轮的设计。
如果换做是你,你会如何在有限的资源下发明出超音速汽车上用的轮子呢?After much deliberation, and devising ideas that pushed the boundaries of material technology, Mark Chapman, chief engineer of the Bloodhound project said the team decided to take a step back and change the way they were trying to solve problems. “There’s very little we’ve actually developed that’s new,” he says, “what’s unique is how w e apply technologies.”猎犬号项目的总工程师马克·查普曼思来想去,觉得材料还是不够好。
最后他和他的团队决定退回一步、换个角度看有没有别的办法。
“我们实际创新的东西并不多”,马克说:“我们的独特之处在于应用技术的方式别具一格。
”They adopted an approach called the design of experiments –a mathematical technique of problem solving through doing lots oflittle experiments and then looking at the statistics all glued together. “All of a sudden, where we’d been knocking our head against the wall for maybe two, three, four months, we came up with a wheel design that would hold together and was strong enough,” h e says.他们采用实验设计的方法做了很多的小实验,综合所得的数据再得出精确设计。
“花了三四个月绞尽脑汁做尽各种实验之后,很突然地我们做出了一个大胆的设计:把各种可用的(飞机、飞船所用的)技术都融合在一辆车上,从而使它足够强大。
”马克说。
Lesson two: Let evidence shape your opinion观点要用证据来证明Like his peers, geophysicist Steven Jacobsen from Northwestern University believed that water on Earth originated from comets. But by studying rocks, which allow scientists to peer back in time, he discovered water hidden inside ringwoodite, which lies in the Earth’s mantle, and which suggests that the oceans gradually made its way out of the planet’s interior many centuries ago.美国西北大学地球物理学家史蒂文·雅各布森曾认为,地球上的水源于彗星。
但通过对岩石的研究,他发现地幔的林伍德石里面也藏有水,这一发现表明或许在N个世纪之前,海洋是从地球内部自己慢慢溢出来的。
“I had a pretty hard time convincing others,” he admits. Yet two key pieces of evidence uncovered this year seem to support his point ofview. Time will tell whether the new theories are true, and there may be further twists to the tale. “But thinking about the fact that you may be the first person to see something for the first time doesn’t happen very often,” he says. “When it do es it’s thrilling.”“那时候我难说服别的学者相信这个。
”史蒂文说。
但是今年新发现的两个关键证据似乎支持了他的理论。
所以,一个新理论的正确与否可能需要时间来慢慢印证,在被世人接受前可能会经历很多曲折。
“但是如果你发现你是第一个发现这个规律的人,且时间又证明你是对的之后,你会倍受鼓舞的。
”史蒂文说。
Lesson three: It really is 99% perspiration天才的99%确实是汗水Sheila Nirenberg at Cornell University is trying to develop a new prosthetic device for treating blindness. Key to this was cracking the code that transmits information from the eye to the brain. “Once I realised this, I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep – all I wanted to do was work,” says Nirenberg.康奈尔大学希拉·尼伦伯格正在研究治疗失明的新型假体,其中破解眼睛与大脑的信息交流密码是最关键的。
“我意识到这一点之后,就吃不下饭、睡不着觉,只想全身心投入工作。
”尼伦伯格说。
“Sometimes I’m exhausted and I get burnt out,” she adds. “But then I get an email from somebody in crisis or somebody who’s gettingmacular degeneration, and they can’t see their own children’s faces, and it is like, ‘How can I possibly complain?’It gives me the energy to just go back and keep doing it.”“每次觉得筋疲力尽、江郎才尽的时候,我都会收到一些到正处于危险状态马上要失明的、或是患有黄斑部退化症的病人的邮件,这些人将没办法看清自己孩子的长相、无法看这五颜六色的世界。
每当这个时候,我就跟自己说‘我怎么能够抱怨呢’,然后就又动力十足的继续工作。
”Lesson four: The answer isn’t always what you expect结果并不总是和预想的一样Sylvia Earle has spent decades trying to see the ocean with new eyes. Her “dream machine” is a submarine that could take scientists all the way to the bottom of the deepest ocean floor. What sort of material could best withstand the types of pressure you would encounter thousands of miles below the ocean surface? “It could be steel, it could be titanium, it could be some sort of ceramic, or some kind of aluminium system,” says Earle. “But glass is the ultimate material.” By her estimates, a glass sphere about four-to-six inches (10-15cm) thick should be able safely explore the ocean depths she dreams of exploring.西尔维亚·厄尔花了几十年的时间试图让人们用新的方式亲近海底,她的“梦想号”潜艇可以让科学家潜入到最深的海底。
那种材料才能够承受住深海的巨大压力呢?厄尔说:“我想过用钢、钛、陶瓷等,但最终发现其实玻璃才是终极王者。
”根据她的预计,一块10-15厘米厚的玻璃板就能让她进入梦寐以求的那片深海世界。
Glass is the oldest material known to man and one of the least understood, says Tony Lawson, Earle’s engineering director at Deep Ocean and Exploration Research Marine. “I t has a higgledy-piggledy molecular structure a bit like a liquid, rather than the ordered lattices often found in other solids. As a result, when glass is evenly squeezed from all sides –as it would be under the ocean –the molecules cram closer together and form a tighter structure.厄尔的项目技术总监称,虽然玻璃是人类已知的最古老材料,但是我们对它的了解却甚少。
