Show some pictures to review the text of Unit 1 and Unit 2.

Step 2 Language practice

1. Read through the example sentences in the box with the whole class.

2. Ask the students to repeat the sentences in the box.

Step 3 Work in pairs

1. Ask the students to read the expressions in the box in Activity 1.

on holiday意为“在度假，在休假”。 go on holiday意为“去度假”。【例】We are on holidays in Sanya.我们在三亚度假。

2. How long did it take to get there?到那儿花多长时间？

(1) how long意为“多长时间”，常用来提问时间长度。【例】How long did

you watch TV last Sunday?上星期天你看了多长时间的电视？

【温馨提示】how long也可对物体长度提问，意为“多长”。

【拓展】辨析how long， how soon与how often

how long “多长时间”，提问时间段，可用于多种时态。 How long did you live

there?你在那儿住了多长时间？

how soon “多久以后”，提问“in+时间段”，常用于一般将来时态。 How soon will they come

back?他们要多久回来？

how often “多久一次”，提问时间频率，常用于一般现在时态。 How often do you go

home?你多久回家一次？

（2）take 意为“花费”。It takes sb. some time to do sth.意为“做某事花费某人多长时间”。【例】It takes half an hour to get to the shop.到商店花费半个小时。
