教材分析： 人教版《新目标》八年级下册第八单元的话题是文学和音乐。话题功能是能谈论最近发生的事情或经历。本课是Unit 8中SectionB的2b短文。文章的主题是乡村音乐对人的影响和改变。该部分不仅呈现了与音乐话题相关的词汇，还通过听、说、读、写等活动进一步巩固学生对目标语言——现在完成时的认识和理解，并要求学生能够围绕音乐话题进行口头和笔头语言输出。
学情分析: 学生们对美国的乡村音乐知之甚少。本篇文章中生词较多、长句子较多，不利于学生理解文章。为此，在理解篇章段落时辅助以音乐的欣赏，使学生们更好地理解文章，同时也使学生们更好地体会乡村音乐，了解美国的乡村音乐。大部分学生对音乐有一定兴趣，以音乐辅助理解文章会激发学生的学习兴趣。
教学目标：1、了解美国的乡村音乐。
2、了解乡村音乐是如何改变Sarah的生活。
3、通过阅读短文，提高阅读能力。
情感态度价值观目标：了解西方文化的知识，特别是音乐对人的影响。这种良好的影响使人变得更好。
教学策略 : 任务型教学法，小组合作
教学重点: 1. 通过本节课的学习，提高阅读能力。
2. 理解乡村音乐的特点以及对人物的影响。
教学难点: 能够围绕音乐话题用英语进行口头和笔头语言输出。
