第五章： 英汉句法翻译
3.1 分句译法
• 分句译法又称之“拆句法”。就是把英语中较长的句 子译成汉语中较短的句子。
• 从结构上看：英语的句子好比参天大树，枝叶横生； 而汉语的句子则如万顷碧波，层层推进。
• 在下列两种情况下宜于使用分句法： • （1） 原文句子虽不长，但照直译时所得的译文很别
扭，不拆便读不 顺口或容易发生误解。一般将一些单 词或短语译成独立的句子。 • （2） 原文句子冗长，特别是那些曲折迂回，层见跌 出的一大串文字。一般将从句分译成汉语的单句。

3.1.2 将词组或短语译成汉语的句子

3.3.1 切断法（顺序法）
• 所谓切断法，就是按英语句子的语序把英语长句“化整为零”， 按意群将长句断开译成若干汉语分句。如：

顺译法
• 是采用原序对译法，也就是顺着往下译( 但不是字 字对应译) 。有些汉语句子的内容结构与英语表 达方式比较一致，在翻译时则可按照原文顺序进 行翻译。这种方法多用于单一主语的长句，但在 译文中要分清句中的信息重心。 • 汉语的信息重心在逻辑关系上。而英语句子主要 信息放在突出位置，次要信息作为辅助性的描写 或叙述手段。 • 所以汉译英时，应该把汉语隐性主次关系发掘出 来，译成英语的主次表达方式。
• 当他们活着一天，总要尽量多工作、多学 习，不肯虚度年华，不让时间白白地浪费 掉。( 2010 年TEM8) • 分析: 单一主语，语义的表述顺序英汉语一 致，故顺译。--“总要尽量多工作、多学习” 是“他”活着时的动作行为，因而译为主 要的表达方式，其它部分译为非谓语动词 形式。 • As long as they are living，they always work and study as hard as possible， unwilling to dream their life away，let alone waste even a single moment of their lives．

主从区分法

汉语复句中往往不用关联词，分句之间的逻辑关 系在很多情况下主要靠顺序来表示，即采用所谓 “意合法”。同时，汉语复句里接二连三出现的 动词，从形式上看，它们都是平等的，没有主从， 偏正之分；从逻辑上分析，分句之间也有主从之 分。一般说来，凡是为主的分句即正句，用英语 限定式动词结构来表达；从属的分句即偏句，用 非限定式动词短语，介词短语，或增加从属关联 词，或通过其他各种从句形式来处理。

插入法

指把难以处理的句子成分用破折号、括号或前后 逗号插入译句中。这种方法主要用于笔译中。偶 尔也用于口译中，即用同位语、插入语或定语从 句来处理一些解释性成分。

一直以来，形合和意合是翻译学研究领域的重要课题。在长 难句中也充分表现了形合和意合。所谓形就是形式，形合即 形式的合拍；意合即追求意义的整合，不求逻辑严密。形合 借助语言形式手段（包括词汇手段和形态手段）来实现词语 或句子的衔接；意合不借助语言形式手段而借助词语或句子 所含意义的逻辑练习来实现词或句子的连接。语言学家王力 曾形象地指出：西洋语的结构好像连环，虽则环与环都联络 起来，毕竟有联络的痕迹；中国语结构好像天衣无缝，只是 一块一块的拼凑，凑起来还不让它有痕迹„ „西洋语法有 很多呆板的要求，如每一个clause里必须有一个主语„ „ 中国语法只以达意为主，如初系的目的语可兼次席的主语， 又如相关的两件事可以硬凑在一起，不用任何的connective word。

合并法是把若干个短句合并成一个长句，一般用 于汉译英。汉语强调意合，结构较松散，因此简 单句较多；英语强调形合，结构较严密，因此长 句较多。所以汉译英时要根据需要注意利用连词、 分词、介词、不定式、定语从句、独立结构等把 汉语短句连成长句 (1)根据原文各句之间的逻辑关系，在译文的句与 句之间加上连接词语如and, but, with, so as to, while, for. …
