What Is an Order and Reply to An Order?An order is a request to supply a specified quantity of goods. V ery often, it is only after the exchange of a number of letters, faxes or E-mails that the two parties come entirely to terms and the buyer finally places or fills a formal order by letter or fax.When a seller receives the relative order and confirms and accepts its terms and conditions, he may begin to execute the order to the buyer’s satisfaction. However, there are times when a seller does not accept the buyer’s order for some reasons. Insurance of the GoodsGoods are always insured in transit through an insurance company or insurance brokers. Claims for damage or loss may be made if the goods have been damaged, lost or interfered within transit. When a consignment is received, it is examined and the delivery note is signed to confirm that the goods have been received and that they are damaged. However, damage and errors are often noticed later when the container or the package is unpacked and rechecked.It is customary to employ brokers not only for the conclusion of a contract of insurance but also for the settlement of claims. If the consignee is informed that the goods have arrived damaged, he should immediately notify the insurer’s agent at the port of discharge who will survey the goods and issue a survey report.
