《Making a poster about a historical figure》教学设计一、教材分析牛津版高中英语第三模块第一单元的Project致力于通过组织学生做一个研究项目来帮助学生全面提高运用英语的能力。
首先,学生必须仔细阅读材料,课文介绍了两个重要的历史人物的生平——Alexander the Great(亚历山大大帝)和 the father of Western philosophy, Socrates(西方哲学之父,苏格拉底),通过阅读文章学生更加了解这两个历史人物,然后在老师的引导下,学生要知道做一张关于历史人物英文海报中必须包含哪些相关信息,最后在此基础上以小组活动的形式,每组选择一历史人物,共同为其设计制作出一张英文海报。

二、学习对象分析高一学生已经度过青少年危险期,是在认知方面从不成熟逐步走向成熟的年龄阶段,但仍然需要在对问题的分析、判断、以及处理方法等方面有一个正确的引导。
学生们经过一学期的学期,能独立处理一些问题。
但他们感兴趣的还是与他们的切身生活密切有关的话题,如交朋友,家庭以及简单的文学名著。
对这样的历史人物或哲学家的生平,在阅读时他们往往带有一种毛躁的情绪,抓不住主要信息,过目就忘。
所以学习这样的文章正好锻炼他们在这方面的能力。
本节课的教学,试图通过小组合作的方式,激发学生的兴趣和动机、提高学生发现问题、分析问题、解决问题的应用能力。
