These sensors are part of a system that turns lights on and keeps them on while movement is detected within the sensor’s range, and conversely turns lights off when motion is no longer detected for a specified period of time. The Sector Occupancy sensors use a small semi-conductor heat detector located directly behind a multizone Fresnel optical lens. The overall range of the sensor can be configured and man-aged remotely using the SectorNET graphical user interface (GUI). The sensor responds to heat emitted by the human body within the range of detection.Leviton’s Multi-Technology Occupancy Sensor (OSC20-MSW) features both infrared and ultrasonic sensing capabilities to automatically control lighting. This sensor takes advantage of the latest microprocessor-based technology to continually adjust and optimize its performance to changing conditions. Ultrasonic technology detects motion (including small motion) by noting changes in reflected sound waves. Infrared tech-nology detects movement of heat-emitting bodies.
