TheReviewofDeadPoetsSocietyThe Review of Dead Poets SocietyLast week we watched a movie which named the Dead Poets Society . This is the story of students at the respected “Walton Academe”; a school demitted only boys in Walton and a very conservative and traditional institution. Mr. Keating, a young teacher plays the lead in the film. He determined to use his own way to break with convention. He taught his students a lot. The students listened to Mr. Keating about his experience of joining the Dead Poets Society. They also set up the Dead Poets Society. In the ending, another leading role called Neil dying for his dreams. He suicide and went away. The school put all the blame on Mr. K eating’s different teaching method. The movie could indeed give me a deep impression. I also learned a lot from Mr. Keating, the respectful teacher. Firstly, we should live our lives with absolutely passion. What is the most important idea he often says is carpe diem. It’s really an eternally immutable truth. Seize the day, for only in their dreams can men be truly free. The Dead Poets Society is a place where people can dedicate to suking the marroe out of life. Those people in their lives don’t have ho pe and dreams, only with an arranged future that they don't like. They like most of us, many of us are losing ourselves because of the reality, frustration, the pressure or the authority. We ourselves never dare to say "NO" loudly, or never master our life in our hand. We spend a lot of time in those things we do not like. By usingthe way of standing on the desk, Mr. Keating told us a way of lifestyle that seeing the world with a new vision. Different vision can lead different effects. Just like thinking one thing withvarious, then we will get the new result. Standing on the desk, students were encouraged to overcome psychological barriers. As the young generation, we should do what we really like, only in this way will we no regret when we are old. So learn to think yourself again. You don’t have to perform, just make it for yourself .When you are young, you never really stop to think what in the world you are doing with your life. And make you life extraordinary and meaningful.。
The review of Dead Poet SocietyHave you ever carefully thought about your dream? Have you ever considered what you want, what you value and what you want to become? Have you ever done something just out of pure impulsiveness and passion? Maybe you have, maybe not. After watching the movie Dead Poet Society, I sank into these questions which I’ve ignored for a long time. Sometimes we forget that we are youngsters, we have sufficient dynamism and creativity, and we should have dreams. The movie is set in a traditional, rigorous elite high school, where students are forcedly crammed into inflexible knowledge, and what they need to do is to get an offer from a key university. However, things are completely different after a new poetry teacher Mr. Keating’s coming. He asks students to find their own way of striding and pacing, to tear the pages with musty comments and think by themselves, and to stand on the desks in order to look at things in a different way. Through his teaching, boys start to find the meaning of life. Todd learns to express his innermost voice, Knox manages to woo the girl he likes, and Neil takes the chance to pursue his own dream. In the end, the suicide of Neil makes the movie a tragedy; moreover, it reveals the inevitable conflicts between dream and reality in the life.Youth, passion, dream and enthusiasm are all valuable but fragile treasure merely belonging to young adults, while the reality filled with pressure under livelihood, expectations from parents and rigid education in school always smashes the treasure into pieces. Then some people choose to keep silence like Todd, some choose to fight for themselves like Neil, while some submit to the cruel real life like Cameron.Unfortunately, most of us are just as cowardice as Cameron, for few people are too timid to pursue what they want after their dreams being devastated time after time. Everybody wants to escape from the mediocrity but most of us fail as we lack the braveness and perseverance.I think these verses perfectly indicate the condition of us:I went to the woods, because I wanted to live deliberately.I wanted to live deep, and suck out all the marrow of life!To put to rout all that was not life, and not, when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived. It’s kind of painful but also meaningful to read this poem. This movie is just suitable for us because it’s not too late to cherish our youth and chase after our dream. From now on, you can make some changes. “Carpe diem, seize the day. Make your lives extraordinary.”That’s what I got.。

ReviewofThefilmDeathPoetsSociety死亡诗社影评第一篇:Review of The film Death Poets Society死亡诗社影评Seize Everyday and Learn How to Think-----Review of The film Death Poets Society Everyone as an individual seems extremely small in the pared with human history which stems from ancient time and appears endless, a person with a very short life cycle is just like a fleeting meteor in the universe. However, once a person comes to the world, he bears his own value, no matter how little it is.In the film Death Poets Society, Mr.Keating, instructing students to appreciate poetry in a special way, once quoted the Latin phrase Carpe Diem which means seize the day to teach his students to cherish every day.He is inclined to tell his students that life is as short as flower bosom, but life is full of sunshine and hope and that they ordinary people should believe in themselves and make efforts to realize life value in their limited lifetime. He is the teacher who not only teaches knowledge on how to read poets, but also gives his students confidence and courage to think deeply from their bottom of heart what is life and how to face life. The film finally ends with an astonishing tragedy when the student Neil who couldn’t achieve his dream by his father’s opposition committed suicide and Mr.Keating was fired by the school.I think every educator should watch the ironical film which bears profound meaning. Some people may argue that people are educated just for the sake of getting knowledge.Yet in my eyes, education means teaching students how to think, because the eventual objective of obtaining knowledge by students is to form a sort of attitude or value towards life, including how to deal with pressure, problems and cation meansdeveloping students’ imagination and creativity and teaching them to hold their different perspectives on the world. It appears that education in China has not yet completely achieved the substantial goal of real education.Students in China have to go through countless tests when they enter schools and fight in fierce peer competition for admission of key schools or universities.Hence, teachers emphasize more on the score results of children, thus making so called test-oriented education. Moreover, nowadays some irresponsible teachers who can’t set good example for their students, let alone their ability to teach thinking skills finally lead to student crimes or unhealthy mental growth.Since teachers play such influential roles during students’ growth and thoughts, there is still large space for improvement of Chinese teachers’ qualification.Personally, I think teaching method has a great impact on how well students can learn and teaching in a practical way is more efficient for me.For instance, my chemistry teacher once ignited my extreme interest in chemistry, for she often instructed us to make plenty of experiments to substantiate some chemistry theories rather than just tell us fixed chemistry conclusions.Furthermore, my Chinese teacher in middle school once assigned us to write a composition on snow, he took us to have a happy snowball fight in the playground, making the topic more interesting to write. To conclude, we hope that more and more teachers who can truly teach students how to think and inspire their interests in learning will appear in the prospective educational road.

Dead Poets Society" is a thought-provoking film that delves into the themes of individualism, the power of language and poetry, and the struggle between conformity and self-expression. The story revolves around a group of boys at a conservative boarding school who are inspired by their unorthodox English teacher, Mr. Keating, to embrace creativity and pursue their passions. The film beautifully captures the transformative power of literature and the profound impact that a mentor can have on shaping young minds. It also highlights the tension between the traditional values upheld by the school and the liberating, revolutionary ideas introduced by Mr. Keating. The tragic conclusion serves as a sobering reminder of the consequences that can arise from challenging societal norms and the dangers of suppressing one's true self. Overall, "Dead Poets Society" serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of free thinking and the pursuit of one's dreams, while also cautioning against the potential backlash from those who fear change.中文翻译:《死亡诗社》是一部发人深省的电影,深入探讨了个人主义、语言和诗歌的力量,以及顺从和自我表达之间的斗争。
A film review on Dead Poets SocietyThe film Dead Poets society,an old film, deserves us to watch and have a deep thought. It tells a story of a teacher,Mr.Keating and his students who want to flee from the feudal thoughts.Mr.Keating,in the story, always encourages his students to change their eyesight to definite the world, having classes outside or jumping up the desks to see the world in a different way.Setting up their own Dead Poets Society, not only poems that they written but also daily life or some amazing periods were discussed.A youth, called Neil, desired to be an actor whereas his parents had planned his life to as a doctor, after succeeding in entering the Harvard University. At last,Neil was committed suicide in order to insist on himself and Mr.Keating was considered as the murderer, failing in continue to teach. No response to love, youth or any other heated issues,it makes me deep in thought. Though we think that much freedom that the western teenagers have nowadays, actually they even didn’t get the permission to talk about or pursue their dreams in the feudal era. They were asked to obey their parents’ vision, even if they can join a play.As a matter of fact ,I felt furious as Neil’s death was pinned on Mr.Keating.It is hisflinty parents and the rigid tradition that led to his death rather than Mr.Keating’s unique teaching methods. How ridiculous it was!Besides,it shows some deeper meaning so that it reserved a large amount of appreciation.Though Mr.Keating was fired, his students jumped up on their desks at the last of the movie, which represent his opinion about open, passionate and free in literature has remembered in the children’s mind.Disobedience, independence and creation are highly recommended from the film,so as our modern education. So,it is undeniable that this film will have a long-lasting influence on human beings,no matter to the past or the future.Business English class 1 SharkeyA Report on Dead Poets SocietyLast morning I just took several hours to appreciate the movie“Dead Poets Society”.I had to admit that it was one of my favourite movies that I have even seen. I even wept when I saw the scene that Neil couldn’t refuse his father’s orders and killed himself, which depressed me a lot, because Neil was one of the characters who I liked.I could deeply feel the pains that Todd and Neil’s other friends suffered. When Todd came out of Welton Academy, running to the snowfield, roaring to make himself calm down,I just wept again with the sound of music, which suddenly rang sadly. As far as I am concerned,Neil was a courageous and intelligent person, because he could bravely followed his teacher,Mr.Keating ,whose teaching method was so new, innovative and visionary against the traditional and old principles taught in the school.Unfortunately,Neil still couldn’t escape from his father’s control.Although he loved acting, and actually he made it,he still couldn’t change his father’s idea, and thus he just had to make himself come to an end without talking to his father what he really wanted. As for me,Mr.Keating was on behalf of the new ideas such as democracy, romance and freedom of thought, while Welton Academy represented conventional, realistic and staid thoughts. It was a intense fight between the young and the old.Anyway,I loved Mr.Keating and every student(except Cameron, because he betrayed his partners eventually)in this movie, and I could find their hidden passions, which cheered me up a lot.I even thought that I resembled Todd in some ways,as I would be shy, introverted and lacked courage sometimes, thinking myself valueness and nobody would care what I said and think, fearing to express myself totally in front of many people, but Todd got more valiant at last when he stood on his desk and called Mr.Keating “Captain”to make Mr.Keating believe his expulsion is not which everybody wanted.I also loved the poems they have read such as“Gather ye rosebuds whileye may.Old time is still a—flying. And this same flower that smilestoday, tomorrow will be dying.”What’s more,I loved the sound of music, which impacted me a lot.At last,I just wanted to write down the sentence that Mr.Keating said: “But only in their dreams can men be truly free.”I was crazily fond of it,which made me know how essential the belief and enthusiasm was.Business Class one Daisy。
A Movie Review on Dead Poets SocietyDead Poets Society is an American drama film written by Tom Schulman and directed by Peter Weir in 1989. It stars Robin Williams and mainly tells a story between an thoughtful English teacher and a group of students who want to make breakthroughs in their dull life which has pre-arranged by their parents and restricted by the school. The film was excellent and fascinating, no matter in the plot design, characters acting or the choice of setting. It also won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. This story takes place at Welton School, a very traditional prep school known for its elite education. After the summer holidays of 1959, John Keating, former student at the institution, enters the school as the new English teacher. With his unconventional teaching methods, he inspires his students to act as individuals and to "seize the day", a phrase comes from the Latin "Carpe Diem" and later become a guide to these students’ action. Given this whole new perspective on life, this group of boys start to follow their own ideas. However, their demand for liberation in some way is against the conservative policies of the institution and their parents' expectations, hence a conflict is inevitable. When I first heard the name of the movie and saw the beginning, I thought it was no more than an ordinary teenage film evolving the high school life and maybe their dreams, but quickly I realized that it actually embodies a much deeper meaning than that. What the film conveys not only focus on the struggle between a group of rebellious students and their authoritative parents and teachers, but on these students’strong desire for self-realization. From the initial timid and obedient boys to the final brave and independent young adults, we can clearly see the growth and progress of these boys. What impresses me the most in the movie is the scene where the teacher covers his hands over Todd’s eyes and forces him to describe what his really feeling is. Like other students in the class, I was also confused about Mr. Keating’s behavior at first, but when I heard the beautiful words said out by Todd, I was amazed and even couldn’t help applauding. Mr. Keating’s teaching method is undoubtedly creative and enlightening, but for the people of that time, it is unorthodox and can not be accepted by most people, which to some extent may set the tone for the tragedy in the end. Some ideas proposed by the teacher is really inspiring, even for me, an audience in different times and countries still can feel the powerful magic. “Seize the day and make your lives extraordinary”, “You don’t have to perform. Just make it for yourself”. Such thinking-provoking lines also become a feature of the film. When realism confronts idealism, freedom versus suppress, which one do you think will win? Maybe you can find answer in the film.。
The Review of the Dead Poets Society
2008111084 Leslie class three When I was watching this movie, I asked myself these questions: who will be responsible for our passions? Who will pay for our youth? Should the so-called good grades or a good impression in parents' eyes be our life's master?
I liked this unique teacher, Mr keating. He helped his students stretch their minds , exercise their right to defiant acts of love for life and become their own captain. All in all, I loved this film.
In the film, these students were taught how to enjoy themselves and pursue the passion of life. Mr. Keating tried to lead them to gain the freedom to be oneself in the face of adversity. They were expected to reach their opposite bank successfully on their boat of life—the truth meaning of being alive. Mr. Keating was a successful leader and teacher. when we are young, we never really stop to think what we can do for our life. However, what this film showed me was that we had the responsability and the joy of being alive in the world. Besides, we should make full use of the precious time to make a difference. We have a moral obligation to seize the day and make our lives extraordinary.Although I still don't think I have seized the day completely, I keep on trying and I always will.
There are two kinds of people in this world: the one is created by society and the other is creating their own society. In this movie, this was not a cave, but a spiritual home. I just remembered the phrase: Captain! My Captain! That means you can beat our bodies, but you can never defeat our souls. Life is the most difficult choice, just as the Neil's situation in the movie. His ideal and reality collided ruthlessly. Compromising to the reality or flying our own ideals? Neil's death is the highest form of chasing a dream. Was his chocie right or wrong in the end? I can't judge, but I only know that the captain told us: do life's master, not the life of slaves.。
