雅思写作常见错误分析:措辞毛病
本文收集整理了雅思写作常见错误分析:措辞毛病。
希望对大家的雅思备考有所帮助!
措辞毛病(troubles in diction)
措辞是指在特定的句子中如何恰当地选用词语的问题,由于很多因素的制约,比如上课时间有限,老师在这方面作的指导相对来说就比较少,因此导致了学生在平时写作中没有养成良好的推敲,斟酌的习惯。
他们往往随心所欲,拿来就用。
所以作文中措辞不当的地方比比皆是:
1. The increasing use of chemical obstacles in agriculture also makes pollution.
(农业中不断增加的化学物质的使用也造成了污染)
分析:
显然,考生把“obstacles ”“障碍物”当做“物质”来使用了,另外,“the increasing use ”(不断增加的使用)应该改为“abusive use ”(滥用)。
改为:The abusive use of chemical substance in agriculture also leads to pollution.。
英语作文改错范文There are several common errors found in English writing. In this essay, I will discuss some of these errors and provide examples of how to correct them. One common error is the misuse of apostrophes. Many people use apostrophes to make a word plural, but this is incorrect. For example, "apple's" is incorrect when used to mean more than one apple. The correct form is "apples." Another common error is the confusion between "its" and"it's." "Its" is a possessive form, while "it's" is a contraction of "it is" or "it has." For example, "The dog wagged its tail" is correct, while "It's a beautiful day"is also correct.Another common error is the misuse of homophones. Homophones are words that sound the same but have different meanings and spellings. For example, "their," "there," and "they're" are often used incorrectly. "Their" is a possessive form, "there" indicates a place, and "they're"is a contraction of "they are." It is important to usethese words correctly to avoid confusion in writing.Additionally, many people struggle with subject-verb agreement. This means that the subject and verb in a sentence must agree in number. For example, "The cat eats" is correct, while "The cat eat" is incorrect. This error can lead to confusion and should be carefully checked for in writing.Furthermore, sentence fragments are a common error in English writing. A sentence fragment is an incomplete sentence that does not contain a subject and a verb. For example, "Running down the street" is a fragment, while "I was running down the street" is a complete sentence. It is important to ensure that all sentences are complete and make sense on their own.In conclusion, there are several common errors in English writing, including the misuse of apostrophes, homophones, subject-verb agreement, and sentence fragments. It is important to be aware of these errors and tocarefully proofread writing to correct them.中文翻译:在英语写作中常见一些错误。

⼀、compare与contrast的误⽤我们先从两者的定义⼊⼿来看两者的区别。
Compare的定义为:to examine people or things to see how they are similar or different. Contrast的定义为:to compare two or more things to show the difference between them. 由定义不难看出前者侧重于找到两个或多个事物的异同,⽽后者则侧重于它们的不同。
看个例句:It is interesting to compare their situations to ours./It is interesting to contrast their situations to ours.前⼀句翻译为:对⽐⼀下我们的情况与他们的情况会很有趣。
后⼀句的翻译为:我们的情况与他们的情况有很⼤的不同,这很有趣。

英语作文错误的单词有哪些Possible essay:Common Errors in English Writing。
English is a complex language with many rules and exceptions, and even native speakers can make mistakes when writing or speaking. However, some errors are more common than others, and can be avoided with a little attention and practice. In this essay, I will identify and explain some of the most frequent errors in English writing, and suggest ways to correct them.1. Spelling errors: English spelling is notoriously irregular, with many words that sound alike but are spelled differently, and vice versa. Therefore, it is important to check the spelling of unfamiliar or tricky words, especially those that have silent letters, double letters, or unusual combinations of vowels and consonants. Some common examples of spelling errors are: "their" instead of"there" or "they're"; "your" instead of "you're"; "its" instead of "it's"; "loose" instead of "lose"; "affect" instead of "effect"; "principal" instead of "principle"; and "definitely" instead of "defiantly".2. Grammar errors: English grammar is also complex, with many rules and exceptions that can confuse even advanced learners. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the subject-verb agreement, the use of articles, prepositions, and pronouns, and the order of words in a sentence. Some common examples of grammar errors are: "I seen" instead of "I saw" or "I have seen"; "me and him" instead of "he and I" or "him and me"; "between you and I" instead of "between you and me"; "who" instead of "whom" or vice versa; "less" instead of "fewer" or "amount" instead of "number"; and "it's me" instead of "it's I" or "it's I who".3. Punctuation errors: English punctuation is crucial for conveying the meaning and tone of a sentence, and can change the interpretation of a text if misused or omitted. Therefore, it is important to use commas, periods, colons, semicolons, and quotation marks correctly, and to avoidrun-on sentences or fragments. Some common examples of punctuation errors are: "Let's eat, grandma" instead of "Let's eat grandma"; "I'm sorry, I can't come" instead of "I'm sorry I can't come"; "John, Mary, and Peter" instead of "John, Mary and Peter"; "I love you; however, I can't marry you" instead of "I love you. However, I can't marry you"; and "She said, 'I'm tired'" instead of "She said 'I'm tired'".4. Vocabulary errors: English has a rich and diverse vocabulary, but some words are often misused or confused, especially by non-native speakers or careless writers. Therefore, it is important to use the right word for the right context, and to avoid using slang, jargon, orclichés in formal writing. Some common examples of vocabulary errors are: "accept" instead of "except"; "allusion" instead of "illusion"; "eminent" instead of "imminent"; "enormity" instead of "enormousness"; "nauseous" instead of "nauseated"; "disinterested" instead of "uninterested"; and "literally" instead of "figuratively".To avoid these and other errors in English writing, one can use various strategies, such as: proofreading one's work carefully, using a spell-checker or a grammar-checker, consulting a dictionary or a style guide, asking a native speaker or a teacher for feedback, and practicing writing regularly. By improving one's writing skills, one can not only avoid embarrassing mistakes but also express oneself more clearly and effectively in any situation.。
词义误用的例子英语作文Misuse of Vocabulary in English EssaysIn the realm of English essay writing, the misuse of vocabulary is a common yet avoidable pitfall. Such errors not only detract from the clarity of the argument but can also mar an otherwise well-constructed piece. Consider the following examples of vocabulary misuse and their potential impact on an essay's effectiveness.Firstly, the term "ubiquitous" is often wrongly used to describe something that is common or frequent. In reality, "ubiquitous" means something is present everywhere, not just frequent. For instance, writing, "The ubiquitous presence of smartphones in our daily lives" is accurate, while "The ubiquitous use of smartphones" implies an excessive or overstated frequency.Secondly, the word "impact" is frequently overused, often interchangeably with "effect" or "influence". While "impact" usually refers to a strong or direct effect, "effect" and "influence" can describe more subtle or indirect changes. Saying, "The impact of social media on modern society is profound" is more specific than "The effect of social media on modern society is significant" or "The influence of social media on modern society is huge".Another common misuse is the confusion between "discrete" and "discrepant". "Discrete" means separate or distinct, while "discrepant" refers to something that is inconsistent or conflicting. Writing, "The discrete differences between the two theories are easily identifiable" is correct, while "The discrepant differences between the two theories" would be incorrect.Lastly, the term "facile" is often wrongly used to describe something that is easy or simple. In reality, "facile" implies a lack of depth or thoughtfulness, often with a negative connotation. Saying, "The facile solution proposed by the committee was notwell-received" is accurate, but "The easy solution proposed by the committee was not well-received" does not convey the same nuance. In conclusion, the careful selection and use of vocabulary are crucial in English essay writing. Avoiding common misuses such as those mentioned above can help ensure that essays are clear, concise, and impactful. By paying attention to the precise meaning of words and their appropriate usage in context, writers can craft more powerful and persuasive arguments.。
雅思写作常见语法错误8大类型雅思写作常见语法错误8大类型一览高分者避让1.雅思写作常见错误之不一致所谓“不一致”,不仅指主谓不一致,它还包括了数的不一致(单复数问题)、时态不一致(时态混用)及代词不一致(指代不明)等。
大家不要认为这很简单,其实写作中犯错的时候,可能自己还没发现。
例:When one have money, he can do what he want to.(人一旦有了钱,他就能想干什么就干什么)剖析:one是单数第三人称,因而本句的have应改为has ;同理,want应改为wants。
2、雅思写作常见错误之句子不完整句子结构不完整会令意思表达不清,这种情况常常发生在主句写完以后,笔者又想加些补充说明时发生。
例:There are many ways to know the society. For example by TV,radio, newspaper and so on.剖析:本句后半部分“for example by T V ,radio ,newspaper and so on.”不是一个完整的句子,仅为一些不连贯的词语,不能独立成句。
所以应改为:There are many ways to know society,for example,by TV,radio,and newspaper.(大家注意观察,仅仅是标点符号的变化,以及字母大小写,就能决定一个句子表意对错。
希望大家写作时一定要细心!)3、雅思写作常见错误之悬垂修饰语所谓悬垂修饰语是指句首的短语与后面句子的逻辑关系。
例1:At the age of ten, my grandfather died.剖析:这句中“at the age of ten”只点出十岁,但没有说明“谁”是十岁。
按一般推理不可能是my grandfather,如果我们把这个悬垂修饰语改明确一点,全句就不那么费解了。
所以改为:When I was ten,my grandfather died。

雅思写作常见的10类写作错误及示例雅思写作常见词组1 At last许多人在应当用“finally”或“lastly”的地方用“at last”。
“at last” 即使跟另外那两个单词一样,可以被译成中文的“最终”或“最终”,但它们还是有不一样的用法。
我们为了谈论某一个过了很长时间后才被完成的事情会用“at last”。
通常,我们对完成事情的时间长度不满足才用“at last”。
比如:我等了整整两个小时,她十点半最终到了。
I waited for a full two hours. At last she arrived at half past ten.我找了两年工作,也参与了50多个面试。
我两周前最终被聘请了。
I looked for a job for two years and did over 50 interviews. At last, I got hired two weeks ago.在以上两句话,我们也可以用“finally”代替“at last”。
但以下的这些例子里,我们就只能用“finally”或“lastly”,并不能用“at last”。
Firstly........... Secondly.............. Lastly/Finally你要先吃饭,然后洗盘子,最终把它们擦洁净。
First you’ve got to eat, then wash the dishes and finally/lastly dry them.最终,我对这件事情的最终一个观点是。
Finally/Lastly, my last point on this subject is....雅思写作常见词组2 In a word许多雅思索生以为“in a word”像“finally”和“lastly”一样可以被用于文章的总结。

比如:There are many ways we get to know the outside world.分析:“there are many ways”以及“we get to know the outsideworld”。
原本两个句子很正常,但用中式思维把两个句子一连起来,感觉就不对了,而且一种深厚的中式乡村英语范袭来;改为:There are many ways for us to learn about the outside world.雅思写作常见错误之句子随便添加一般都是烤鸭们写完了一句话之后,咦,不对,少写了一些东西,得加上去,然后就消失了这样的句子。
There are many way to get the news. For example by TV, radio, newspaper and soon.其实也很好改,留意标点符号的使用,news后面加了点,就是句子的结束了,然后For还大写,这样后面就彻底成一个句子啦,不对;改为:There are many ways to get the news, for example, by TV, radio, andnewspaper.雅思写作常见错误之词性用错这个还要解释么,大家常常犯的错就集中在这里详细表现为:介词当动词用;形容词当副词用;名词当动词用等。
英文作文用错词汇英文:I have to admit that I sometimes use the wrong vocabulary when writing in English. It can be embarrassing when someone points out my mistake, but I try to learn from it and improve my language skills. For example, I once wrote an email to my boss and used the word "accept" instead of "except". My boss was confused by my sentence and asked me to clarify what I meant. I realized my mistake and apologized for the confusion. From that experience, I learned to be more careful when choosing my words and to double-check my writing before sending it.Another time, I used the word "affect" instead of "effect" in an essay for school. My teacher marked it as incorrect and explained the difference between the two words. I was grateful for the correction and made sure to remember the difference in the future.Overall, I think it's important to acknowledge our mistakes and work to improve our language skills. It's okay to make mistakes, as long as we learn from them and try to do better next time.中文:我不得不承认,我有时在用英语写作时会用错词汇。
英语误用现象英语作文In the realm of language learning, the English language is notorious for its peculiarities and the common mistakes that learners often make. This essay aims to explore some of the prevalent misusages of English and the reasons behind them.1. Confusing Homophones:Homophones are words that sound alike but have different meanings and spellings. For instance, "their," "there," and "they're" are often interchanged incorrectly. The confusion arises from their similar pronunciation, leading to sentences that can be misleading or nonsensical.2. Misuse of Articles:Articles are a staple in English grammar, yet they are often misused by non-native speakers. The definite article "the" is used for specific items, while the indefinite articles "a" and "an" are used for non-specific items. However, learners frequently omit articles or use them incorrectly, which can alter the meaning of a sentence.3. Incorrect Verb Tenses:English verb tenses can be complex, with multiple forms for past, present, and future actions. Learners might use the simple past tense when the past continuous is appropriate, or they may confuse the present perfect with the simple past, leading to temporal inconsistencies.4. Preposition Errors:Prepositions are small words with big roles in English. They indicate relationships between words, such as location, direction, and time. Common errors include using "in" instead of "on" for days of the week or "by" instead of "with" when referring to tools or means.5. Misuse of Modal Verbs:Modal verbs express necessity, possibility, or ability. They are often misused by learners who may use "must" when "should" is more appropriate, or "could" instead of "can" when referring to present ability.6. Subject-Verb Agreement Issues:Agreement between the subject and the verb is crucial in English. Singular subjects require singular verbs, and plural subjects require plural verbs. Errors in subject-verb agreement can lead to sentences that sound awkward or incorrect.7. Overuse of Literal Translations:Non-native speakers sometimes translate their native language's idioms or phrases literally into English, which can result in humorous or confusing expressions. For example, translating "I have butterflies in my stomach" to "I have insects in my belly" would lose the intended meaning of feeling nervous.8. Pluralization Errors:English has specific rules for forming plurals, but there are many exceptions and irregular forms. Learners may incorrectlyadd an "s" to words that require an "es" or change the internal vowel, such as "man" becoming "men" instead of "mans."9. Misuse of Adjectives and Adverbs:Adjectives describe nouns, while adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. Learners may use an adjective where an adverb is needed, or vice versa, leading to awkward phrasing.10. Incorrect Use of Phrasal Verbs:Phrasal verbs, which combine a verb with a preposition or adverb, are a common source of error. Learners might misunderstand the meaning of a phrasal verb or use it in the wrong context, such as using "look up" when they mean "look down upon."Understanding and correcting these common misusages is key to mastering the English language. As learners become more aware of these pitfalls, they can improve their communicationskills and express themselves more effectively in English.。
作文本中的不规范字英文回答:The presence of non-standard words in a composition can greatly affect its quality and readability. It is important to pay attention to the correct usage of words and avoid using informal or slang expressions. In this essay, I will discuss the reasons for the occurrence of non-standard words and the impact they have on the overall composition. There are several reasons why non-standard words may appear in a composition. Firstly, it could be due to a lack of vocabulary or language proficiency. When writers are not familiar with the appropriate words to use, they may resort to using non-standard words as a substitute. Secondly, the influence of informal language, such as social media or casual conversations, can also lead to the use of non-standard words. Lastly, some writers may intentionally use non-standard words to create a specific tone or style in their writing. The use of non-standard words can have a negative impact on the overall composition. Firstly, it can make the writing difficult to understand for readers who are not familiar with the non-standard words. This can lead to confusion and hinder effective communication. Secondly, the use of non-standard words can undermine the credibility of the writer. It may give the impression that the writer is not well-educated or lacks professionalism. Lastly, non-standard words can also affect the flow and coherence of the composition. When readers encounter unfamiliar or inappropriate words, it disrupts the natural progression of ideas and can make the writing appear disjointed. In conclusion, the presence of non-standard words in a composition can have detrimental effects on its quality and readability. Title: The Importance of Responsibility in Today's Society。
In today's fast-paced world, the concept of responsibility holds immense significance. Whether it's in our personal lives or professional endeavors, responsibility shapes our actions and influences our relationships with others. One of the primary aspects of responsibility is accountability. When individuals take responsibility for their actions, they acknowledge the impact of their choices on themselves and those around them. However, some peoplemistakenly view responsibility as a burden, failing to recognize its inherent value in fostering personal growth and societal harmony. In the workplace, responsibility is often equated with reliability. Employees who demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility are trusted to fulfill their dutiesdiligently and efficiently. Conversely, those who shirk their responsibility jeopardize not only their own success but also the productivity of the entire team. Moreover, responsibility extends beyond individual actions to encompass broader social and environmental concerns. As global citizens, we have a collective responsibility to protect the planet and promote sustainable practices. By embracing responsibility in our consumption habits and advocating for positive change, we can work towards a more equitable and environmentally conscious society. In conclusion, responsibility is not merely a word but a guiding principle that shapes our behavior and influencesour impact on the world. 作文用词不准确的例子讲解英文回答:In writing, using inaccurate words can greatly affect the clarity and coherence of the composition. Let me provide you with some examples to illustrate this point. One common mistake is the misuse of homophones, which are words that sound the same but have different meanings. For instance, if someone writes "their" instead of "there," it can lead to confusion. Imagine reading a sentence like, "I left my keys over their." The correct usage should be "I left my keys over there." This mistake can be easily avoided by proofreading and double-checking the words used.Another example is the incorrect use of idioms and colloquial expressions. These phrases add flavor and personality to writing, but if used incorrectly, they can create confusion or convey a different meaning. For instance, if someone writes "I'm between a rock and a hardplace" to describe a difficult decision, it would be incorrect. The correct phrase is "I'm caught between a rock and a hard place." Using idioms accurately can enhance the quality of the writing. In addition, using vague or ambiguous words can makethe message unclear. For example, instead of saying "I'm going to a party tonight," if someone writes "I'm going somewhere tonight," it leaves the readers wondering where exactly the person is going. Providing specific details is crucial for effective communication.中文回答:在写作中,使用不准确的词汇会极大地影响文章的清晰度和连贯性。
作文用词不准确的例子讲解英文回答:Using inaccurate vocabulary in writing can greatly affect the clarity and effectiveness of the message being conveyed. It can lead to misunderstandings and confusion among readers. Let's take a look at an example to understand this better.Suppose a student is writing an essay about the importance of education. However, instead of using accurate vocabulary, they use incorrect words that do not convey the intended meaning. For instance, they might use the word "school" when they actually mean "university" or "college." This misinterpretation can lead to confusion among readers and weaken the overall argument of the essay.Another example could be the use of inappropriate synonyms. Let's say a student wants to express the idea of "being nervous" in their writing. Instead of using thecorrect word, they use a synonym like "scared" or "afraid." While these words might have similar meanings, they do not accurately convey the specific emotion of nervousness. This can result in a miscommunication of the intended message and weaken the impact of the writing.Inaccurate vocabulary can also affect the tone of the writing. If a student wants to express a formal tone in their essay but uses informal or slang words, it can undermine the credibility and professionalism of their writing. For example, using phrases like "cool" or "awesome" in a formal essay would be inappropriate and diminish the seriousness of the topic being discussed.Overall, the use of inaccurate vocabulary in writing can lead to misunderstandings, weaken arguments, and affect the overall tone and credibility of the piece. It is important to carefully choose and use accurate words that effectively convey the intended meaning.中文回答:使用不准确的词汇在写作中会极大地影响信息的清晰度和效果。
Essay写作中的词汇误用范例
范例一:use,utilize和using
许多人喜欢用utilize代替use表示“用”的意思。
但是这两个词有明确而不同的定义,不能混用。
use是最普遍的用法,可以表示一切“用”,但多指用其本身的用途,比如use血压计量血压。
而utilize是用其本身没有的用途,比如utilize钥匙开瓶盖。
因此,在科学论文中utilize几乎没有机会使用到,而用use始终正确。
Using也经常被误用:QoL was evaluated using Hamilton scale。
此处语法上不正确,正确的用法是前面加个“by”: QoL was evaluated by using Hamilton scale。
范例二:due to和because of
用due to代替because of在笔者编辑过的论文里也非常常见,但这是错误的。
Due to的意思是caused by,做形容词用,修饰的是名词,而because of做介词用。
比如:He died from pneumonia due to (caused by) a severe infection 是正确的,due to a severe infection形容pneumonia。
而He was hospitalized due to a severe infection 是错误的,此处应该用because of。
范例三:compared with和compared to
Compare这个词,每篇论文都会用到,比如在结果和讨论中经常见到compared with 或compared to the control group。
笔者的经验是,用compared with,不用compared to。
在比较两者时,compared with是
最普遍的用法,也最安全,着重的是两者的不同点,compared to则意在强调相同点。
在论文中我们通常着重的是不同点,因此应该用compared with。
范例四:before和prior to
越来越多的人用prior to表示“在之前”来代替before。
而实际上,prior to 只表示重要性,而非时间上的“在之前”,因此许多时候应该用before。
但是prior to现在已变得非常普遍,有些编辑也把它当作正确用法了。
范例五:after和following
虽然用following表示时间上紧接着发生很常见,但following是形容词,不能代替after,所以这句话语法上是错的:angiography was conducted following a MI.。
