Man and Nature人与自然The intimacy between man and Nature began with the birth of man on the earth, and becomes each century more intelligent and far-reaching. To Nature, therefore, we turn as to the oldest and most influential teacher of our race; from one point of view once our task-master, now our servant; from another point of view, our constant friend, instructor and inspirer. The very intimacy of this relation robs it of a certain mystery and richness which it would have for all minds if were the reward of the few instead of being the privilege of the many. To the few it is, in every age, full of wonder and beauty; to the many it is a matter of course. The havens shine for all, but they have a changing splendor to those only who see in every midnight sky a majesty of creative energy and resource which no repetition of the spectacle can dim. If the stars shone but once in a thousand years, men would gaze, awe-struck and worshipful, on a vision which is not less but more wonderful because it shines nightly above the whole earth. In like manner, and for the same reason, we become indifferent to that delicately beautiful or sublimely impressive sky scenery which the clouds form and reform, compose and dissipate, a thousand times on a summer day. The mystery, the terror, and the music of the sea; the secret and subduingcharm of the wood, so full of healing for the spent mind or the restless spirit; the majesty of the hills, holding in their recesses the secrets of light and atmosphere; the infinite variety of landscape, never imitative or repetitious, but always appealing to the imagination with some fresh and unsuspected loveliness; who feels the full power of these marvelous resources for the enrichment of life, or takes from them all the health, delight, and enrichment they have to bestow?从地球上出现人类开始，人与自然之间的亲密关系就随之诞生，而且被不断地发扬光大，这种关系每一世纪都比以前变得更为明智而深远，所以，我们求助于自己，并把自然视为人类最年长和最有影响力的老师。
Man and nature开始的陈述：Many people say that nature's force is irresistible [,iri'zistəbl] 不可抵抗的, but I think that man can conquer nature. First, I want to explain the meaning of “conquer”. I don't mean to defeat and control nature, but tame [teim] 使变得平淡it. Living harmoniously with nature is the goal and we can get it. As we all know, human's intelligence has only been exploited partly, but with so little intelligence, man has changed the world so much. Man is clever enough to make use of nature and has ability to adjust to nature.As you know, man has learned to use many things in nature and this comforts man's life.服务人类的例子：For example, the use of fire makes people warm and supplies cooked food. Can you imagine the life without fire? You will live in darkness forever and suffer from cold in winter. You can only eat cold and uncooked food. Human governs water to avoid overflow and use it to make electricity. Using wind and solar energy to make electricity is another meaningful thing. Turning wind and solar energy into electricity can save energy and is good for environment. With electricity, we can live in light though the night comes. A series of electrical appliance, such as TV sets, computers, microwave ovens, iceboxes, washing machines etc., can be used because of electricity. Our life is colorful and convenient with them.Man can imitate 模仿things in nature and make new things to help us improve our living conditions. 利用自然的例子：Take radar and saw for instance, radar is made on the basis that bat can identify object by searching ultrasonic wave. Radar is used widely in military affairs. It can ascertain object’s shape, material and so on. On the basis of one kind of grass, Lu ban, the famous artisan of our country, invent saw. With saw we can cut off many hard things, make tools and so forth.驳论：Human beings can find, master and follow the regularity of nature. Nature will bestow us good life. Although Napoleon and Hitler were defeated by the cold Russianwinter, this can't mean that human beings can't conquer nature. This is only an individual example. And they could take some measures to avoid the Russian winter and perhaps the results have been changed. At last, perhaps they could defeat the Russia and the Soviet Union.最后的总结：I admit that man has destroyed some parts of nature and nature has paid off us. But man has regretted and done many things to improve its environment. For example, we’ve done many things to tame [teim] 使变得平淡the nature, such as successes in medicine in the fight against disease. We also plant many trees every year to prevent the desert from enlarging. Anyway, we should believe that we can tame the nature and it will forgive us and will be as beautiful as it was, even more beautiful. Man fears nature at first, then wants to defeat nature and finally understands human beings should get well along with nature.In short, our goal is to live harmoniously with nature and we can get it.The car industry in China:Firstly deny this point no China shouldn`t stop industrialization to protect environment.Second withdraw your point: China can go on industrialization and protect environment at the same time.Third state your point:1.industrialization and environment are not opposities of one thing;2.we can do both better if we take care of the ballance;3.give some examples of developing industry along with protecting environment.如果是经济的话，应该着重在发展，也就是开源，因为经济到达一定程度，科技也就会发展到一定程度，新技术成果会对中国环境改善产生很大的效用，这是开源，以英国为例，先破坏再保护，到一定程度后科技就会发挥威力，比如先进的汽车发动机对环境的破化已经大幅减小，新一代燃料电池技术几乎不破坏环境。
Man and naturePeople often say that man can conquer the nature or human being is the king of the nature. According to the power of nature, however, I deeply believe that nature takes over man.Historically speaking, there is no doubt that man can reform the nature. As I see it, the history of man is absolutely the history of man’s exploring the nature. Long long ago, in order to survive, our ancestors had to explore the nature, know the nature, and reform the nature. They climbed down the trees and started to live on the land. It was their first step to explore the nature. Since then man has known more about the nature and mastered some skills to protect himself and to survive .Gradually, as man’s desire is expanding, what he wants is not only just surviving but also living better .It seems that man is more powerful than nature for he can make up whatever he thinks up. He wanted more land, then pondering came up .He wanted travelling faster, then cars were invented. He wanted flying, the planes appeared. Wh at’s more, Great Wall pyramids, and other grand famous buildings are coming to our mind .To a miracle, man even has the capacity to conquer Everest, which is the highest mountain in the world. Maybe the most amazing invention is the satellite marking the great achievements man has got in exploring and reforming the nature.However, it doesn’t mean that man can conquer the nature. Nature is so mysterious and powerful that man just knows a little about it. Many secrets of the nature are still unknown. There are many rules in nature, and man will be punished if he does something against the rules. Lots of facts have proved it.As is known to all, man cannot live without the nature that is offering man with fresh air to breath, clean water to drink and vario us foods to eat. Unfortunately, as man’s desire expands, man asks for more and more from nature .As a result, the environment has been seriously polluted by chemical wastes from factories and sewage in cities .Farmland is also overworked and has lost its fertility. Seriously, some has even become sandy .Worse still, trees are being cut down, thus a large scale of forests are being destroyed .And a variety of wild animals are being hunted and killed .Naturally,the consequences are that many species of plants and animals are disappearing from the earth and the balance of the nature is being upset.Now nature has taken revenge on man. Man has been suffering from the greenhouse effects, acid rain, the gradual depletion of the ozone layer in the atmosphere and disease hard to cure as cancer. In fact, nature takes action in two ways, one is the slow way, as mentioned above, and the other is the fast way. Take tsunami for example, we still remember clearly the tsunami occurring in Indonesia in 2004.It was really a great disaster. More than 170,000 people died and even more were injured and homeless .When it happened people cannot do anything to stop it! Even now, it is hard to say how serious the damage was. As for the hurricane, it is absolutely a nightmare for many Americans. The hurricane taking place in New Orleans of America in 2005 led over 1036 people dead or injured. In economy, they both brought huge loss.Now, it is clear that nature is full of power and man has the ability to explore the nature, to know the nature and to reform the nature but not the ability to conquer the nature. It is self-evident that man depends on nature for survival and development. Almost everything man possesses derives from nature. It is nature that has shaped man himself and his civilizations.Since man cannot live without the nature .What is the relationship between them? How can man manage to survive in the nature?Man is not the master of nature, he cannot control nature .Strictly speaking, and man belongs to nature. If man wants to continue to live in this world, he had better try the best he can do to respect nature, for the maintenance of a harmonious relationship with nature is a master of life and death to him.In my opinion, man should pay attentions to the warnings given by nature and then consider seriously what should be done and what should not be done. Nature is full of power and rules .Though man cannot change its rules, he can make full use of them to reform the nature. Only in this way, can man manage to live in harmony with nature and live a better life.。
