罗马神话中一位奇怪的两面神就称为:Janus。

二月February是根据罗马的一种庆祝活动命名的。
这种庆祝活动叫“Februal”,是一种打扫卫生的庆典。
也许是因为到了二月底,漫长的冬天已经过去,妇女们开始考虑迎春大扫除的缘故吧。
三月是一个时有暴风雨的月份,March 一词来自罗马神话中战神Mars的名字。
Mars 是一位很有力量的神,罗马人总是把他和雷、电联系在一起。
五月May是以女神Maia的名字而设的。
Maia年青美貌,是田野之神。
六月June则是从众神之王宙斯的妻子的名字Juno来的。
说到七月July和八月August,谁又知道它们来自什么地方呢?信不信由你,这两个词是以古罗马的两个皇帝的名字命名的。
凯撒(Julius Caesar,100-44 B.C.)是古罗马开国大帝。
他曾是古罗马著名的统帅,为罗马帝国做出了巨大贡献。
但他称帝后专横跋扈,唯我独尊,一切都要按他的意志行事。
凯撒重新修订了日历,因他生于七月,故将七月以他自己的名字Julius命名。
在他修订的新日历中,全年分为12个月,单月31天,双月30天,只有二月平年为29天,闰年为30天。
