【《呼啸山庄》故事梗概】一八零一年，洛克伍德拜访他的房东――希思克利夫先生，打算租住在他的画眉田庄。

分享这一片荒凉。

还没踏进门就一直遭到冷待，甚至于惨遭六只大小不一，年龄不一的狗的进攻。

山庄里边的约瑟夫，哈里顿，希思克利夫之子的遗孀――小凯瑟琳都是脾气古怪之人。

洛克伍德心里想着：这真是一户糟糕的人家。

洛克伍德原本以为自己找到几乎与世隔绝的好地方，却遇到这么令人匪夷所思的地方跟人。

他通过丁恩太太的叙说，了解起这个古怪的山庄。

希思克利夫是呼啸山庄的老主人老恩肖外出时捡来的街上弃孩。

老恩肖特别喜欢希思克利夫，爱他甚过自己儿女亨德利、凯茜。

亨德利看在眼里，恨在心里。

而凯茜却在同希思克利夫的相处中相爱起来。

后来。

老恩肖先生离世，亨德利回家奔丧的同时，也带了一个妻子回来，这令大家尤为诧异。

已婚的享德利成了呼啸山庄的主人。

他开始阻止希思克利夫和凯茜的交往，并把希思克利夫赶到田里去干活，不断地差辱他，折磨他。

后来凯茜跟希思克利夫闯进了画眉田庄，结识了林敦夫妇，同他们的儿女埃德加、伊莎贝拉成了好朋友。

在交往中，埃德加喜欢上了凯茜。

而与此同时，希思克利夫则内心忧愤。

他发誓要对享德利进行报复，他心中的野性和愤恨全部对准享德利。

卡瑟琳停留于希克厉和埃德加的爱情之间，她真心快乐希思克利夫，但又真的与一个仆人成婚，有失身份。

当埃德加向她示爱时，想起他的可爱和富于，便应允了。

但在她灵魂深处，非常明白自己弄错了，她还是快乐着希思克利夫。

希思克利夫怨恨不已，投奔。

后来林敦夫妇相继得热病而死去，在他们死后三年，卡瑟琳同埃德加成婚了。

亨德利弱不禁风的妻子在产下儿子哈里顿后便死，亨德利丧妻之后便一直陈腐，对儿子漠不关心。

几年后，希思克利夫启程，形象小变小，再次闯进凯茜的生活。
