Many scientists worked on steam engines. A scientist in England put steam and wheels together, the stream train. The first train engine was born in England.

Many countries had railways and train s tations.
What do you know about trains?
In 1801,a steam locomotive(蒸汽机车)built by Englishman Richard Trevithick ran on rails for the first time. Trevithick planned his steam engine to take 10 tons of iron 15 kilometers along a railroad. But in fact his engine carried not only the iron, but also 70 workers. Twenty-four years later, another engineer, George Stephenson, built a new locomotive. This was the beginning of the passenger train.
