摇滚史上几个经典封面

浅谈摇滚唱片封套中的字体设计作者：比干沐一来源：《文艺生活·上旬刊》2020年第08期摘要：唱片封套设计是一种视觉审美文化也是音乐在平面空间中的艺术表现。

其中字体设计能够协调唱片封套设计中的各个元素并与图形设计、色彩设计相互补充，直观地反映作品的中心与内涵，具有重要的作用。

本文将以欧美经典的摇滚唱片封套为例，阐述其中字体设计的类型与特点与在摇滚类平面设计产品中出现的意义。

关键词：唱片封套设计 ;字体设计 ;摇滚乐Sex Pistols乐队的主唱约翰·莱顿（John Lydon）曾宣称：“如果人们是为了音乐而买唱片，这东西早就死了”①，他形象地说明了“音乐外观”的力量。

作为一种形式综合的艺术，唱片封套设计包含了多种设计元素，如文字设计、图形设计、版式设计等。

其中，字体设计可以看作是平面设计是否具有艺术感染力不可缺少的重要部分。

在文字完整准确的前提下，对其进行形式上的艺术处理，使它不仅可以传递唱片信息，还能带给人愉悦的审美享受。

字体应用的艺术效果，能够直接影响到唱片外观形式的美感。

而摇滚唱片封套这一诠释摇滚精神的物质载体，打破了古典、爵士音乐唱片封套中传統的文字编排模式，使用了大量新潮的艺术字体，具有极高的艺术价值。

一、摇滚唱片封套中的字体设计的类型摇滚乐唱片封套中字体设计主要有印刷体、手写字体和图形化的字体三种类型。

不同的字体类型有其特有的蕴意基调，能够产生不同的视觉艺术效果，体现出唱片背后的摇滚风格。

（一）印刷体印刷体作为摇滚唱片封套设计中使用得最为广泛的一种字体，最早起源于公元5世纪德国人古腾堡发明的铅活字印刷术。

由于活字印刷削弱了字体的连贯性，一些连写字母被拆解开，所以印刷体还具有易于识别的优点。

1980年英国朋克乐队Joy Division发行了的第二张唱片《Closer》（见图1所示）。

这张唱片封面上的照片中有一个雕刻精美的墓穴和墓穴里几个神情哀伤的人。

位于图片上方标题“Closer”的衬线字体与起源于古罗马石碑铭文的字体Trajan相似，可以看作是字体Trajan的一种变形。

摇滚乐发展史摇滚乐是20世纪50年代诞生于美国的一种音乐流派，其风格特点是强调电吉他、电贝司和鼓组成的乐队演奏，以及歌词中表达的反叛、自由和革命等观念。

1954年，美国的一位年轻歌手Elvis Presley发布了他的第一首单曲《That's All Right》。

这首歌的音乐风格就是摇滚乐，它的成功标志着摇滚乐的正式诞生。

随着Elvis Presley的成功，摇滚乐开始在美国各地流行起来，成为年轻人的主流音乐。

1960年代，摇滚乐开始在全球范围内流行起来。

英国的一些乐队，如The Beatles和The Rolling Stones，受到美国摇滚乐的影响，开始演绎自己的音乐风格。

这些英国摇滚乐乐队的成功，使得摇滚乐在全球范围内广为传播。

在上世纪70年代，摇滚乐的发展进入了一个新的阶段。

一些乐队开始尝试将摇滚乐与其他音乐风格结合，如迪斯科、流行和重金属等。

这些新的音乐风格使得摇滚乐更加多样化，也使得它的影响力更加广泛。

62年底从德国返回之后，他们马不停蹄地前往英国各地进行演出，并为BBC 录制了一些采访和演唱。

随着Please Please Me单曲在排行榜上不断上升，EMI急于让BEATLES 录制一张专辑发表。

但是时间十分仓促，小伙子们几乎每一天都有演出。

他们在2月11日聚集在伦敦的录音室，只用了一天的时间就录制了全部歌曲，然后第二天继续开始演出。

*小伙子们从上午10点开始录音，除了晚餐休息了一下，一直工作到晚上10点之后。

George Martin吃完午饭回来，发现甲壳虫们竟然没有去吃饭而在继续排练，十分吃惊。

*John当时患了重感冒。

他面前一边放着润喉的药，一边放着一盒香烟。

*当然，专辑里包括了单曲唱片的四首歌，所以他们只需要录10首歌就行了。

那一天他们实际上录制了11首歌，其中的Hold Me Tight尽管录制了13遍，但仍然不能令人满意。

这首歌后来重新录制后在With the Beatles专辑中发表。

*George Martin说，因为显然没有时间让他们创作或学习新的歌曲，再精细地录音，所以他让甲壳虫表演时选择最熟悉的曲目，主要目的是抓住他们在洞穴俱乐部演唱时那种现场的气氛。

*因为没有足够的原创歌曲，所以里面有六首歌都是翻唱的。

滚石杂志评选的500 张历代最强专辑序2003 年11 月，《滚石》音乐杂志做了一个封面特辑，统计了有史以来最出色的500 张唱片列表。

这个列表是通过向273 名摇滚音乐人，乐评人和业界人士调查投票而得出的。

被调查者每人提出自己心目中最佳的50 张唱片并给以评分，通过统计所有票数得出最后的500 张唱片名录。

这个500 佳名录里涵盖了多种音乐形式，包括摇滚，布鲁斯，爵士，嘻哈乐，以及这些形式的组合。

这个500 佳名录在2005 年单独发行成书，由Steven Van Zandt（美国乐手/演员/制作人/主持人，是布鲁斯?斯普林斯廷的东大街乐队的成员之一，曾在美剧The Sopranos 中扮演Silvio Dante）撰写引言。

这次成书发行的名单与最初的名单有轻微的不同，添加了OutKast 乐队的Auemini 专辑(1998)，而且排名顺序也有所变化，Chuck Berry 的The Great Twenty-Eight 专辑(1982)排名略有下降。

这个500 佳名录具有明显的时代倾向，尤其青睐于20 世纪60 和70 年代，因此在公诸于世后也激起了各种反响。

在名单公布后，美国著名摇滚乐评人Jim DeRogatis（曾于1995-1996 年当过《滚石》音乐杂志编辑，但在写了一篇关于Hootie & the Blowfish 的Fairweather Johnson 专辑（1996）的负面评论之后，因激怒了《滚石》的老板，被《滚石》解雇。

）在2004 年结集出版了一部书叫做《杀死你的偶像：新生代乐评人重评经典》(Kill Your Idols: A New Generationof Rock Writers Reconsiders the Classics)。

这本书收集了一些年轻乐评人对于《滚石》杂志高度评价的诸多“经典”唱片的不同意见，包括DeRogatis本人对名单上排列第一位的披头士乐队的《Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band》专辑(1967)的评点。

摇滚乐发展史

摇滚精神衍生时尚如今的时尚界与艺术界，都兴起了一阵复兴之风，追随60年代文化精神的现象，被体现在摇滚、艺术与设计对现代时尚的冲击上，时尚界与艺术界纷纷跟风于上世纪那个精神辉煌的60年代，Ferragamo、Dior等大牌时装也将60年代的摇滚朋克精神与奢华结合、设计界也风行起安迪·沃霍尔的波普主义，艺术界更是将它发挥到极致。

于是，一个重回60年代的追寻精神符号之旅开始了。

时装在半个多世纪前是贵妇的专属，它演变成流行文化的重要势力，少不了摇滚乐的煽风点火。

如果没有摇滚乐没有高喊着精神宣言，Yves Saint Laurent·MarcJacobs·Jean Paul Gaultier·Vivienne Westwood这些熠熠生辉的名字，也将失去它们雀跃的舞台。

所以可以说，摇滚和时装间的确存在一种妙不可言的双生关系，所谓“皮之不存，毛将焉附”言不为过。

波普教父安迪·沃霍尔开创了时尚新纪元，Galliano等大牌的缤纷波普纯色在2008时尚舞台上陆续上演；在本季Dior的新品发布T台上不难发现，摇滚热力当道，最新一季的春夏设计，自然少不了以金属圆孔穿成的长串珍珠链条，以星形图案莱茵石点缀其间，摇滚风经典配饰搭配连衣裙装魅力尽现。

春节期间，在洛阳老家整理自己房间里的一些旧物，看到墙上的海报，陡然有种触景生情的冲动，它不仅是中国摇滚进程中的记忆碎片，也是我青春岁月中最闪亮的时光，我清晰地记得这些海报是如何一步步走进我的世界，如幻灯片般在我的眼前这样闪烁....。

.1：黑豹乐队《黑豹1》这是中国摇滚乐初期最成功的一张唱片，作品《Don’t Break My Heart》在香港商业电台排行榜入主榜首位，它创造的辉煌无人能够超越。

我第一次看到就被海报上的文字深深吸引：“靠近我，安慰我，理解我，不要再伤害我的心。

”它较为直白地窥探出了我少年时的内心世界，在青春期阶段、茫然无助时身陷困境的事情时有发生，正是这些文字一针见血般直指心扉，使我受益匪浅。

与以往大家看到的那张海报不同，这是香港地区发行唱片时的宣传海报，在内地并不多见，是我家中最值得炫耀的藏品之一。

2：崔健北京演唱会现场实况录音(1993)这张唱片的信息知道的人并不多，在专辑盒带的岁月中，我至少听坏过3盒以上，网上N年前的老歌MP3都能找到，就是找不到这张专辑的；崔健官方专辑的列表里，完全没有这张专辑的信息，连万能的Google也搜不出个所以然。

失踪的原因和禁播歌曲《最后一枪》有很大的关系，我喜欢里面长大8分钟左右的乐队介绍，以及拉得很长现场版的《一块红布》，这张唱片是我在武汉某唱片店所得，跟售货员小姑娘侃了半个小时，并买了几张打口唱片才得到，来之不易。

和张永光(仨儿)一度聊起此事，他惊诧不已，大家可以看到，他们拍照时的排列顺序颇有讲究，如同一架飞机，预示着中国的摇滚乐终将腾空而起。

3：唐朝乐队《梦回唐朝》在“二炮”部队家属院第一次看到Channel[V]喜欢的不行，也是从那时对唐朝的作品有了新的认识，《梦回唐朝》、《九拍》播放率超高，长发飘逸的唐朝乐队用重金属的鼓点吟咏着对历史的缅怀，词曲之间透露出浓厚的盛唐气息，在当时的中国摇滚界可谓独树一帜。

这张海报是我对中国摇滚乐前辈们一种敬仰，也是对张炬的怀念，至于音乐我觉得还算不错，至于我多喜欢我是不会告诉你的。

62年底从德国返回之后，他们马不停蹄地前往英国各地进行演出，并为BBC录制了一些采访和演唱。

随着Please Please Me单曲在排行榜上不断上升，EMI急于让BEATLES录制一张专辑发表。

但是时间十分仓促，小伙子们几乎每一天都有演出。

他们在2月11日聚集在伦敦的录音室，只用了一天的时间就录制了全部歌曲，然后第二天继续开始演出。

*小伙子们从上午10点开始录音，除了晚餐休息了一下，一直工作到晚上10点之后。

George Martin吃完午饭回来，发现甲壳虫们竟然没有去吃饭而在继续排练，十分吃惊。

*John当时患了重感冒。

他面前一边放着润喉的药，一边放着一盒香烟。

*当然，专辑里包括了单曲唱片的四首歌，所以他们只需要录10首歌就行了。

那一天他们实际上录制了11首歌，其中的Hold Me Tight尽管录制了13遍，但仍然不能令人满意。

这首歌后来重新录制后在With the Beatles专辑中发表。

*George Martin说，因为显然没有时间让他们创作或学习新的歌曲，再精细地录音，所以他让甲壳虫表演时选择最熟悉的曲目，主要目的是抓住他们在洞穴俱乐部演唱时那种现场的气氛。

*因为没有足够的原创歌曲，所以里面有六首歌都是翻唱的。

剩余的8首歌里，主要由Paul创作的有3首，剩下5首的主要作者是John。

Britpop虽有个“ Pop"字，但其实是Rock的一种，源於九十年代英伦，中文可译为“英式摇滚”，这是英伦乐坛对美国Grunge潮的一个回应，主要是以乐队形式出现。

不过，Britpop 风格其实十分广泛，如Oasis是结他摇滚乐队，Blur则Pop很多，而Pulp则接近Glam Rook及跳舞风格，不过他们都被列作Britpop。

英国Britpop代表人物：Oasis 、Blur 、Suede 、Pulp 、Radiohead“前”英伦时代Britpop（英伦摇滚）对世界的第一次冲击是60年代初The Beatles（披头士）登陆美国时，那时全世界青少年都为这四个蘑菇头的青年疯狂。

经过百花齐放、精彩异常的70年代和沉闷的80年代，Britpop于90年代再次大放光芒。

由一众曼彻斯特乐队引领的音乐运动为第二次英伦摇滚的全盛打下了扎实的伏笔，它不但为后来的英伦摇滚奠定了群众基础，同时也确定了演奏模式。

80年代末，是英伦摇滚风暴彻底爆发前最后的平静，曼彻斯特乐队The Stone Roses（石玫瑰）的出现打破了沉默，他们傲慢嚣张的态度和跳脱的音乐一起成为了英伦乐坛新一轮的领军人。

“黄金”英伦时代进入90年代，英伦的优秀乐队如雨后春笋般一一浮现，在93年到97年的五年之间，每一年都有多张足以名留乐史的唱片出现，一时间“Britpop”成了全世界最流行的名词。

为英伦摇滚风暴启蒙的是The Stone Roses，但真正揭开序幕的是Suede（山羊皮），乐队1993年的同名专辑《Suede》被看作是九十年代英伦摇滚风暴的开始。

Blur（模糊）是九十年代最受欢迎的Britpop乐队之一，它继承了The Smiths等乐队的英伦音乐传统，并且做出了嫁接和变种。

Oasis（绿洲）是英伦草根阶级的代表，和乐队本身的粗鲁、爱惹是生非一样，他们的音乐和大多数英国乐队给人留下的阴柔颓废不同，充满了平民气和慷慨的男子气概。

Maroon 5
Maroon5，中文译名魔力红乐队。 来自LA的摇滚乐队，确切一些说 是新灵魂摇滚。Maroon融合了红 色的狂野魅力，神秘热情，奔放烈 爱再掺入摇滚力道，灵魂旋律及放 克节奏，这样的红流泻着新灵魂乐 性感风情的放克摇滚这样的红，在 流行歌坛注入了一股新的颜色。

乐队成立于1994年的洛杉矶，当时的成员还是五个高中生。也许是 出于青春期的萌动和向往，最初乐队的名字叫做KARA Flower。但 是高中时代的辉煌与光荣转瞬即逝，五个人毕竟要继续发展。后来 他们在唱片公司REPRISE旗下推出过一张唱片“THE FOURTH WORLD”（《第四世界》），反应平平。可要知道，这四个字给 他们带来了多大的压力，在美国，除了真正的大牌明星以外，绝大 部分艺人的生活都很一般，为了自己的音乐理想，每天也要做着自 己不喜欢的事情，也要为一袋面包而折腰。MAROON 5做过暖场嘉 宾，酒吧驻唱，商业演出，巡回表演等等。五个年轻人徘徊在人生 的十字路口，不知道自己何去何从。他们的创作精选集“SONGS ABOUT JANE”（《写给珍妮的情歌》）也在唱片店被静静的放置 了一年多也无人问津。 沉寂了一年多，机会终于来了，这张写给前女朋友的肺腑之作 被一位经纪人慧眼拾起，炒热起来，在各大美国电台金榜题名。而 2004年是它们开始大红大紫的丰收之年，连主流音乐市场的风向标 格莱美也垂青了这群坚持理想的年轻人，把2005届的最佳新人奖杯 BEST NEW ARTIST送到了他们手中。主唱ADAM在颁奖典礼上不 无抱怨的感叹：“两天前，正是我们乐队成立11周年的纪念日，而 今天我们获得了最佳新人奖，这很搞笑。”
丰富多彩的80后摇滚
• 进入80年代除了初期仍还有庞克风外，夹着70年代余威的重金属 便成为领导地位，且几乎风光的80年代都是由重摇滚(重金属)拢 断，但他们仍是求新求变的，风格决不同以往，故又有新浪重金 属的称号，在重摇滚的强势下，除了蓝领摇滚、流行摇滚和融合 雷鬼曲风的摇滚外，要能闯出一片天就得以技巧取胜，所以一些 强调速弹和速度的摇滚遂应运而生，而他们引起的风潮亦不容小 觑，至今速金仍然有广大的听众。 • 接着90年代初期引领摇滚潮流的即是西雅图之声油渍摇滚，但随 即被充满电子音乐的英伦摇滚所淹没，而因这些来自英国各地的 乐团很快的征服新一代的摇滚迷，故将之称为第二次英伦入侵。 此外90年代末期带有庞克风或充满电音的的一些另类摇滚也虏获 相当多的歌迷。或许摇滚风潮不在，承如麦克阿瑟所言老兵不死 只是凋零，但摇滚新血不断产生，电音、工业、嘻哈...，或许摇 滚曲风已不若以往，但至少是另一种摇滚型态的延续。

另类摇滚在美国独立音乐 圈中崛起并逐渐成为主流 音乐市场的重要力量。同 时，重金属和硬摇滚继续 发展壮大，并出现了许多 新的流派和风格。
随着互联网和数字技术的 普及和发展，摇滚乐传播 更加广泛和便捷。同时， 新的流派和风格不断涌现 ，如独立摇滚、电子摇滚 等。
