aims 1. To understand the story and read it correctly.
2. To fill in the blanks on Page 63.
3. To understand the Chinese meaning of sushi, teach
in the text.
4. To raise the Ss’ interest in learning English by
doing actions, playing games, chanting and finish-
ing the tasks.

Teaching procedures
Step 1 Warming up & Revision
1. Greet the class.
2. Show the word cards quickly. Have the Ss try to catch the
words and spell them out.
3. Recite the dialogues in Let’s talk.
Step 2 Presentation & Practice
1. Show Robin and have the Ss guess what Robin is doing. Then
show a picture of robots to lead out He is on a world robot
exhibition. Emphasize the phrase world robot exhibition. Teach
the words with the phonic symbol.
2. Introduce the robots one by one with the sentence pattern.
He /She is from …
He /She is a Canadian / Spanish / Japanese/ Chinese robot.
Emphasize the words Canadian, Spanish, Japanese & Chinese.
3. Ask and answer according to the robots.
2 What is he /she doing? He/She is …
What are they doing ? They are …
Have the Ss answer the questions according to the pictures.
Help the Ss understand making sushi.
Review the sentence pattern and the present participles learnt
before.
4. Lead in the story.
T: Robin is on a robot exhibition. Listen and try to answer the
following questions.
A. What is the Canadian robot doing?
B. Is Asako cooking rice?
C. Can Sarah and Robin play music with the Spanish robot?
5. Repeat the text and check the answers together.
6. Open their books. Have the Ss read the story. Listen and
imitate as the robots.
7. Act in roles.
Step 3 Consolidation & Extension
1. Fill in the blanks on Page 63.
2. Read the passage again and then check the answers.
3. Do exercises.
A. Change the sentences into general questions.
B. Answer questions according to the phrases.
Step 4 Summary & Homework
1. Present the key words and sentences of this lesson, then repeat
and explain them again.
2. Do homework.
A. Read the passage to their partners after class.
B. Make new conversations with your friends.
