一、教材分析本单元教学材料选自上海版牛津英语8AM3U7 Nobody wins (II) ，单元主题为“科幻小说”，属于新课标中“人与社会”主题范畴中“文学、艺术与体育”这一主题群，与8AM3U6 Nobody wins (I) 相互关联，本课教学内容为第一课时的阅读文本Escaping from Gork，是第六单元第一课时阅读文本Caught by Gork的续篇，小说以Captain King带领全体机组人员逃离Gork为主线，刻画了Captain King遇事沉着冷静、英勇果敢、足智多谋的品质。

二、语篇研读What: 本课语篇是上一单元科幻小说Caught by Gork的续篇，主要讲述了Captain King和机组人员如何成功逃离Gork并返回地球的经历：Captain King用放在塑料盒中的激光手电筒熔化牢笼的钢条，并用激光手电筒击中了Gork的独眼。

随后，通过Captain King设计的一个“nobody文字游戏”让kangaroos产生误解。

在最后的逃离过程中，Captain King选择让全体机组人员钻进袋鼠口袋的方式躲开了Gork的最后围堵，成功逃离外星球并返回地球。
