A Happy Day

Yesterday was the happiest day ever! I woke up feeling so

excited because it was the first day of summer vacation. No more

school for two whole months! I jumped out of bed and got

dressed super fast.

For breakfast, Mom made my favorite - chocolate chip

pancakes! They were still warm and gooey when I poured on the

sweet syrup. I ate them up quickly because I couldn't wait to go

outside and play.

After breakfast, I asked Mom if I could invite my best friend

Timmy over. She said yes, so I called him on the phone. Timmy

was so excited too! His mom said he could come over after he

finished his chores.

While I waited for Timmy, I went outside to our backyard.

The warm summer sun felt amazing on my face. I ran around

chasing butterflies and looking for cool bugs under rocks. I found a neat spotted beetle and put it in my bug jar to show
