Step 1 Revision

1 Ask some Ss to tell what they did during the summer

vacation.

2 Talk about TV and newspapers with the Ss: Who likes

reading newspapers? How do they often learn about news? What

kind of news do you like? Who's your favourite news reporter?

Which newspaper

Step 2 Presentation

Tell the Ss: In this unit we are going to learn about news

media. Every day we learn about news through

Different ways, for example: by surfing the internet, listening

to the radio, watching TV, reading books or reading newspaper

etc. But which do you like best? Why?

Which of the news media mentioned is the most reliable?

Why?

2. How are the media mentioned above different from each other?

3. How do you know whether what you hear, see or read is

true?

4. Do you know how a newspaper is made? What about a

magazine?

5. What words will you need to talk about news and the

media?

Step 3 Listening

your newspaper and give you reasons for your choices. Compare
