发现美的眼睛高三英语作文素材English Composition: The Eyes to Discover BeautyThe journey began with a simple act of observation. I started by looking at the world through a different lens, noticing the intricate details that often go unnoticed. The dew on the morning grass, the vibrant hues of a sunset, and the laughter of children at play all became sources of inspiration and joy.One of the most profound experiences was during a school trip to an art museum. There, amidst the canvases and sculptures, I was struck by the power of art to capture and express beauty. The artists had seen what I had not, and through their work, they opened my eyes to the beauty that can be found in every stroke of a brush and every chiseled line. This realization led me to appreciate beauty in unexpected places.I found it in the resilience of a flower growing through the cracks of a sidewalk, in the harmony of a well-orchestrated piece of music, and in the kindness of a stranger's smile. Each of these moments was a testament to the fact that beauty is not just something to be seen, but something to be felt and experienced. The process of discovering beauty has also been a journey of self-discovery. It has taught me to be patient, to be present, and to find joy in the simple things. It has shown me that beauty is not always grand or extravagant; sometimes, it's in the quiet moments that speak the loudest. In conclusion, the eyes to discover beauty are a gift that each of us possesses. They are the windows to a world full of wonder and inspiration. By opening these eyes, we can transform our ordinary lives into a canvas of extraordinary experiences. As I stand on the cusp of adulthood, I carry with me the lessons of beauty, the knowledge that there is always something to appreciate, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant.Chinese Translation: 发现美的眼睛在日常生活的喧嚣中,我们很容易忽视周围的美。

CHAPTER ONE I became what I am today at the age of twelve, on a frigid overcast day in the winter of 1975. I remember the precise moment, crouching behind a crumbling mud wall, peeking into the alley near the frozen creek. That was a long time ago, but it's wrong what they say about the past, I've learned, about how you can bury it. Because the past claws its way out. Looking back now, I realize I have been peeking into that deserted alley for the last twenty-six years. One day last summer, my friend Rahim Khan called from Pakistan. He asked me to come see him. Standing in the kitchen with the receiver to my ear, I knew it wasn't just Rahim Khan on the line. It was my past of unatoned sins. After I hung up, I went for a walk along Spreckels Lake on the northern edge of Golden Gate Park. The early-afternoon sun sparkled on the water where dozens of miniature boats sailed, propelled by a crisp breeze. Then I glanced up and saw a pair of kites, red with long blue tails, soaring in the sky. They danced high above the trees on the west end of the park, over the windmills, floating side by side like a pair of eyes looking down on San Francisco, the city I now call Home. And suddenly Hassan's voice whispered in my head: "For you, a thousand times over". Hassan the harelipped kite runner. I sat on a park bench near a willow tree. I thought about something Rahim Khan said just before he hung up, almost as an after thought. "There is a way to be good again". I looked up at those twin kites. I thought about Hassan. Thought about Baba. Ali. Kabul. I thought of the life I had lived until the winter of 1975 came and changed everything. And made me what I am today. 第⼀章 我成为今天的我,是在1975年某个阴云密布的寒冷冬⽇,那年我⼗⼆岁。
人生自有诗意,诗意美在四季英语作文Life is Full of Poetry, and Poetry's Beauty is Found in the Four SeasonsHave you ever stopped to really look at the world around you? I mean really look - not just glance at things, but truly observe them with curious eyes and an open mind. If you have, you'll know that life itself is poetic. Every day holds magic and wonder if you just pay attention. The wind whispering through the trees, raindrops dancing on puddles, a colorful butterfly flitting from flower to flower - these are Nature's little poems playing out all around us. That's why I love the changing seasons so much. Each one brings its own unique sights, sounds, and feelings that stir up the poet inside me.Let me tell you about the the special beauty I find in each of the four seasons:SpringAhh, spring! After the long, cold sleep of winter, the world awakens with a vibrant breath of life. I love watching the little green buds appear on the bare branches, slowly unfurling into bright new leaves. The birds return from their journey south, filling the air with their cheerful songs. Tulips, daffodils, and crocuses push up through the soil to greet the warm sunshine. To me, spring is Nature's poet standing up and stretching after a long nap, flexing its creative muscles. The season itself is like a fresh start, a blank page waiting to be filled with new adventures and possibilities. Just breathing in spring's crisp, rainy air fills me with energy and excitement for the months ahead. One of my favorite spring poetry moments is watching the bees flit from blossom to blossom. They move with such passion and purpose, as if they instinctively understand that without them, the flowers couldn't be pollinated to bloom into full beauty. I'm reminded that we all have an important role to play in life, no matter how small we may seem.SummerWhen summer arrives, it's as if spring's poet picks up the pace with a swing of fevered inspiration! The hot sun brings everything into its full, lush glory. Trees are dressed in their deepest shades of green, flowers are exploding with rich color, and the air dances with the songs of birds and insects. To me, summer feels like one long, lazy poem celebrating life's sensory delights. I love walking barefoot through the cool grass, its blades tickling my toes. What could be more poetic than sinking your teeth into a sun-warmed strawberry, letting its sweet juices run down your chin? Or watching a dazzling hummingbird hover and zip from bloom to bloom? Summer is a time to bask in the простых удовольствий that nourish both body and soul. One of my favorite summer activities is cloud watching. I'll lie on my back, picking out whimsical shapes in the puffy white clouds drifting across the brilliant blue sky. A fluffy elephant, a mythical dragon, a sublime swan - the possibilities are endless! It's as if the clouds are doing their own poetic shadow-play for those who pause to admire their handiwork.AutumnWhen autumn arrives, I imagine Nature's poet shifting to more pensive, soulful works. Summer's vibrant energy begins giving way to a certain wistful beauty. The leaves turn into a multi-colored masterpiece - scarlets, golds, oranges - before fluttering one-by-one to the ground. To me, autumn has a bitter-sweet feel, like the poet is looking back on summer's adventures and revelries with bothcontented smiles and a few wistful sighs. The morning air takes on a crisp chill, and the shorter days bring a premature twilight. Yet there's a cozy comfort to being able to wear your favorite sweater again and savor hot apple cider.I love the harvest season's simple pleasures, like collecting bright leaves in my backpack on the way home from school. Even the leaves crunching under my feet has a lyrical quality to me. Then there are the Halloween pumpkins grinning from doorsteps and porches - little poems etched into their orangey, weathered surfaces.WinterFinally, when winter arrives, I see Nature's poet take on a more spare, meditative style. Gone are the vibrant colors and lush growth of the warm seasons. The landscape becomes a minimalist study in whites, grays, and browns. To me, winter has an almost reverent, hushed feel. A fresh blanket of snow seems to muffle all sound except for the occasional crack of a frozen branch or the delightful giggles of children sledding down a hill. I find beauty in the Way the spidery branches are outlined with crystalline ice. Even bundling up tight against the cold holds certain poetry - being able to see your own breath puffing out in misty clouds. My favorite winter wonderland moments are after a light snowfall when the entire world is muffled in soft white. Every bent pine bough is sweetly frosted with clinging snow. The pristine drifts sparkle like diamond dust in the pale sunlight. To me, it's like Nature's poet is whittling every image down to its most essential, pure form - a single trapped dewdrop, a bird's spindly footprint, the wind's calligraphic whirls. In the stillness, I'm reminded how even in winter's apparent austerity, there is life simply resting and awaiting its next lively expression.A Never-Ending PoemSo you see, each season overflows with its own unique wonders and poetry for those willing to open their senses and hearts. Together, the four seasons form one grand, endlessly unfolding poem celebrating the beauty and magic of life itself. We just have to slow down, pay attention, and let ourselves become fully immersed in Nature's lyrical creations all around us.I hope that by sharing my perspectives, you'll start noticing the little poems and rhymes constantly percolating through the natural world. Be like a poet yourself - let your eyes linger on a rainbow spectrum of falling leaves, let your fingers trace the delicate wings of a butterfly, let your nose be enraptured by the perfume of a wildflower patch in bloom. Life brims with "aha"moments and eternal muses for those who take the time to drink in the poetic details. All you have to do is look for them.。

如何做一名优秀的学生英语作文1.如何做一名优秀的学生英语作文My first experience of life is like a journey. Everyone will go through many things: swimming for the first time, cooking for the first time, going to primary school for the first time, solving problems by myself for the first time... What impresses me most is when I scored 79 on my first political test. With the advent of junior high school, the life of seven students is very tense and relaxed. In seven, my political scores were very good, and I scored more than 90 points in each exam. I’m proud. It’s seven, and I’m even more nervous about my study. I concentrated on reviewing other subjects, but ignored politics. The teacher’s unit test, I only tested more than 80, I didn’t take it to heart, thought it was a malfunction. As a result, the subsequent monthly exam completely broke my confidence and luck. In that exam, I only got 79 points in politics! This is my lowest score. I looked at the test paper unbelievably and counted the scores again and again to see if there was any mistake. But the facts proved that all I did was futile. This brightscore was like a blow to my head, and my mood fell to the bottom.I was very upset and found that it was all because of my pride and fluke. I’m determined to change all this and don’t want to go down again. After that, I listened carefully and took notes in class. Review, the back of the back, not a leak. Finally, the end of the term arrived, and I walked into the examination room with full confidence. In the end, my political score was 95. My high score is back! However, this time I understand that we should not be proud, but continue to work hard!2.如何做一名优秀的学生英语作文There are many firsts in life, one by one, like a star. They decorate the monotonous night sky very beautiful. It is because of their participation that our life becomes rich and colorful, full and beautiful. That was my first speech on the stage. When I came to think about it and finally chose me, my heart almost jumped out of my chest. My God? This is both a surprise and a big challenge for me! My grades are mediocre and there is nothing worth praising. I think: instead of losing face on the stage, it’s better to give the opportunity to those students with excellent resultsand generous behavior. Therefore, I summoned up the courage to give the opportunity to others before the speech contest had determined a good time. I came to the teacher’s office, explained to the teacher that my ability was not competent for this matter, and recommended several students to the teacher. Before I finished, the teacher said to me: “It doesn’t matter whether you can win the championship or not. The important thing is that you can get experience in this speech conference. I don’t want good students to do what they can and blindly do such things again. It’s difficult for them to make great development. In this way, it’s better to give you the opportunity. I hope you can work hard to make yourself develop greatly and win honor for the class.”Look at the eager eyes of the teacher. I can’t refuse any more.In order to win the championship, I recite the speech over and over again. I won’t tolerate it until it reaches my satisfaction, because the opportunity to show myself is coming! Every night, I have to recite it three or four times. The speech is like a part of my life, and the content has already been engraved inmy mind. I believe I won’t forget it in three or four years. The rest is waiting for the opportunity. The speech conference is coming! I walked onto the stage trembling. After all, it was the first time. My legs shook involuntarily like chaff. The teacher stood on the stage and looked at me with affirmation and encouragement. On the contrary, the judge’s teacher’s stern eyes could see through people. My courage disappeared in an instant, my hands and feet were cold, and my heart pounded like a little rabbit At the beginning, my voice was weak, and I didn’t have the courage to make a speech, which made the judge teacher frown. However, the teacher always firmly believed in me. Somehow, I always felt a force pouring into my heart, and my heart was as calm as the water, as if there was nothing around, just me and the speech. My voice changed I was shocked by the strength and boldness of vision. Finally, I succeeded. Looking at the surprised eyes of my classmates and the praise of my teachers, I stepped down with honorThrough this experience, I understand a truth: in fact, there is nothing you can’t do in the world. As long as you dare to break through and insist, you will gain something!3.如何做一名优秀的学生英语作文In a hurry, six years passed in the twinkling of an eye. Although the time of primary school is short, it is very beautiful. There are gains and lessons, joy and pain. We will leave our alma mater and enter middle school soon, but how I want to be a primary school student again. If I can be a primary school student again, I will abide by the teacher’s instructions and live up to my parents’ expectations. In class, I will concentrate on listening to the teacher. I won’t make small moves or talk in class. I will use my limited time to learn, gain more knowledge and help more people in need. I will also be a primary school student who loves the collective, loves his classmates and is willing to help others. If I could be a primary school student again, I would love the environment. Protect every plant in the campus, don’t Scribble on the wall, don’t touch the clean wall with my dirty hands, don’t take the lives of grass and flowers, and don’t throw peel and paper scraps. I will also cherish water resources, not waste every drop of water, and make our home and school better. If I can be a primary school student again, I will get rid of the bad habit of carelessness. In the past, I always reviewed my lessons and didn’t take the examination seriously, resulting in carelessness, so that the wrong questions in the examination were always loopholes, which not only made me very frustrated, but also frustrated my self-confidence. So I made up my mind to get rid of the bad habit of carelessness and be a careful person in life. How I want to be a primary school student again, cherish every minute at that time, constantly enrich and improve ourselves, our childhood will be like colorful soap bubbles, carrying our dreams farther and farther!4.如何做一名优秀的学生英语作文Time flies like a shuttle. We walked into the school gate in the warm sunshine and began a new journey. Behind us are the expectations of parents and teachers. We should work harder and strive to live up to the expectations of parents and teachers. If we want to be a qualified middle school student, I would like to propose:First of all, we should abide by school rules, middle school students’rules, middle school students’etiquette and so on. To be a qualified middleschool student, we should have good conduct, use reasonable learning methods and formulate reasonable work and rest time; In life, we should also pay attention to personal and collective health, and create a good learning environment for ourselves and everyone. In our daily communication with others, we should be polite and be civilized middle school students; In normal speaking, pay attention to polite language, pay attention to occasions, have a friendly attitude and speak Mandarin. Do not enter other people’s rooms without permission, use other people’s articles, and do not read other people’s letters and diaries. Do not interrupt others at will, and do not disturb others’study and rest. Stand up to pay tribute to the teacher at the beginning and end of class. After class, please ask the teacher to go first. Salute and say hello when you see the teacher or elders, stand up when you answer the teacher’s questions, and be sincere when you give advice to the teacherShouldn’t we, as a qualified middle school student, take the initiative to do these in these details?5.如何做一名优秀的学生英语作文Some students may be surprised. What can we talkabout how to be a student? Carrying a schoolbag to school is not a student? Yes, but it’s not so easy to be a really qualified student. What I want to talk about here is to be a qualified middle school student.A qualified student should be a student of good conduct. Good conduct means that he must be a person with noble moral sentiment, positive and enterprising, a person with code of conduct and full of ideals. Hugo, a famous French writer, said: the broadest in the world is the ocean. What is broader than the ocean is the sky, and what is broader than the sky is the human mind. A loving person will never feel lonely in life. Start by loving the plants and trees around you and love all the good things in life.Knowing how to cherish is also an important sign of qualified middle school students. How often we are in the midst of happiness, that is to say, we do not cherish that happiness. Here, I will try my best to appeal to all the students with a weak voice: cherish our golden years! Don’t take it easy, white young head, empty sad; Please cherish all the beautiful things we have! In this way, we will gradually become better.Students, with the rising sun in the first round of the new semester, each of us has opened a new pagein the course of life. Thinking about the past, we have made too many mistakes and missed too much. Then, let the poetry of the great poet Tagore wake up our hope.I have missed the sun, but do not cry, otherwise I will miss the stars and the moon. Dear students: raise your smiling face and leave your shadow behind!6.如何做一名优秀的学生英语作文If primary school life is the first step in life, secondary school is the most difficult and beautiful step in life. All the habits, whether the life is good or not, are decided in these six years. Many children swear to themselves when they enter middle school that they must be admitted to a famous university in the future. But not many succeeded in the end. If you want to get close to your dream, the first step is to think about how to be a qualified middle school student. Many successful people recall their school days, and most of them are learning. As the saying goes, as long as you have deep Kung Fu, an iron pestle can be ground into a needle. If we can arrange our time reasonably, we can get twice the result with half the effort. Therefore, we must first have a clear idea of the studies we will face in the future, so that we can not be arrogant and discouragedin our study and life, and pave the way for being a qualified middle school student. The second is the promotion of thought and morality. We pay little attention to details in life. In fact, many things are details that determine success or failure. Sometimes we are curious and want to see what is written in other people’s diaries, so the level of quality is reflected; Sometimes, we are selfish, so we break away from the collective and act alone; Sometimes, we forget the details and give in to our habits, so the road we tread is full of broken flowersThere are a lot of problems sometimes, which are caused by not paying attention to details and habits. Now that we have entered middle school and become a middle school student, we should ask ourselves higher and stricter. In life, we should work hard, strive for, let go of what we want, overcome difficulties, overcome disasters, be able to self-esteem, self love and self-improvement at any time, and drive away the haze of life with a smile. See the teacher, can also be polite, affectionately call the teacher good; If you see paper scraps, you can bend down and pick them up; If you see people who have difficulty moving, you can come forward to helpThese are the improvement of their own quality; All these are the foundation for being a qualified middle school student.Being a qualified middle school student includes a lot of things. I will use my most clean and beautiful youth to interpret the meaning of middle school students.7.如何做一名优秀的学生英语作文The drizzling rain accompanied us to wake up. The flustered morning is the most true portrayal of middle school students. What do we want in exchange for our classes, lectures and homework day after day? Just the last good job? No, at least our efforts will get a little sense of achievement at the bottom of our hearts. At the same time, it is also the best way to repay our parents. I believe every child will be a little relieved when he sees the happy smiling face of his parents, won’t he?Once we were at a loss and lost, but we all stepped into the middle school classroom step by step. We have grown up, not the childish child. We should understand the truth and distinguish right from wrong. Playing video games in class sounds like a childish behavior, but it really appears in the middle school classroom, saying that we don’t understand the rules, but we have studied the code of conduct for middle school students since we first entered school. What’s the reason? Disrespect for the teacher, or not interested in the course? I think it’s a little bit, but in the final analysis, our self-control is not strong enough. Make an analogy! There is 100 yuan on the ground at your feet. You dare not look at it, let alone pick it up! It’s the same in class. You know there’s a game console in the table hole. Can you even look at it? Generally speaking, playing video games is really wrong, but at the same time, we should also strengthen our self-control!Of course, a qualified middle school student doesn’t talk casually. A writer said: you can see a person only by a little thing. So work hard! For myself and my family, I hope that when we graduate, we will hand in a satisfactory answer for ourselves in the course of middle school students’code of conduct, and draw a perfect pause for middle school life!8.如何做一名优秀的学生英语作文Time flies like a shuttle. We walked into the school gate in the warm sunshine and began a new journey. Behind us are the expectations of parents and teachers. We should work harder and strive to live up to the expectations of parents and teachers. If we want to be a qualified middle school student, we must do:Pay attention to your code of conduct. Discipline and rules are indispensable in our daily work, study and life. Many facts can explain this truth, such as queuing to buy tickets; When walking on the road, you should obey the traffic rules; Even our daily actions are subject to certain requirements and constraints, otherwise everything will be out of order. As students, we have countless disciplines and rules to ask us to tell us what to do and what not to do. However, if we always study and live in a required environment, it is difficult to make progress, so we should learn to restrain ourselves, demand ourselves, change passivity into initiative, consciously abide by the daily code of conduct of middle school students, and use it to restrict our words and deeds. As a junior high school student, he should be sincere, frank, honest and trustworthy, be polite to others, love the collective, unite and help each other among students, abide by rules and disciplines, speak Mandarin, use polite language, study hard, be hardworking, be modest and prudent, work hard andfrugal, be filial to his parents, be strict with himself and abide by public morality. It is a responsible attitude towards yourself to develop a good standard of daily behavior. Sow a behavior, harvest a habit; Sow a habit, harvest a character; Sow a character and reap a destiny. “ Thus, we can know that behavior becomes a habit, habit forms a character, and character determines fate. We can’t rely on others. The secret to forming good habits lies in self-restraint. If you learn to control yourself, you will have the best teacher.Respecting teachers is also an act that our students must do. The ancients said, “one day is a teacher and all life is a father.”it can be seen that teachers have a position in people’s hearts. As a student, we should respect the teacher and the teacher’s personality. We should also respect the work of teachers. Accept the teacher’s criticism with an open mind and don’t contradict the teacher on the spot. Teachers’hard work is reflected in teaching. Students study with an open mind, listen carefully to each teacher’s class and achieve good academic results, which is the greatest respect for teachers. Students, we should always pay attention to our words and deeds, cooperate with teachers’ work, care about teachers’life, understand teachers with a sincere heart and regard teachers as our most respected people. I think if every student can join the ranks of self-discipline, pay attention to his code of conduct all the time, and cultivate himself into a good student who abides by the law, loves science, loves the motherland, loves the people, is honest and trustworthy, and has a sense of responsibility, he will find that the things and environment around him will be very different. To be a good middle school student, we should start from small things and accumulate experience bit by bit. Only in this way can we really become a qualified middle school student.如何做一名优秀的学生英语作文.doc。
动物眼中的世界英语作文The World Through the Eyes of Animals。
As humans, we often think of ourselves as the most important beings on the planet. However, if we take a step back and look at the world through the eyes of animals, we may realize that there is much more to the world than what we see.For example, imagine you are a bird soaring through the sky. From up high, you can see the vast expanse of the earth below, with its winding rivers, towering mountains, and sprawling cities. You can see the patterns of human activity, the fields of crops and the roads that connect them. But you can also see the beauty of nature, theforests and oceans that stretch out before you, teeming with life.Or consider the perspective of a dog, whose sense of smell is far more acute than our own. To a dog, the worldis a complex tapestry of scents, each one telling a story about the people and animals that have passed by. The smell of a fresh bone might lead a dog on a wild chase, while the scent of a familiar friend can bring comfort and joy.Even the smallest creatures have their own unique perspective on the world. A bee, for example, sees the world in ultraviolet light, allowing it to navigate andfind nectar in flowers that appear plain to our eyes. A spider, meanwhile, sees the world in a different way entirely, using vibrations to sense its surroundings and catch prey. All of these perspectives are valuable, and they remind us that the world is a diverse and complex place. By looking at the world through the eyes of animals, we can gain a greater appreciation for the wonders of nature, and we can learn to see the world in new and exciting ways. So the next time you see a bird in flight, a dog on a walk, or a bee buzzing by, take a moment to consider the world from their point of view, and see what you can learn.。
My FatherEveryone has a father. My father is of middle height. He is stout and severe looking, with keen expressive eyes. On first sight you may feel he is hard to approach. In fact he is very kind and considerate. Appearance is often misleading, so judge not by appearance.I believe my father is a talented man. He is decisive and efficient in doing things. By his own talents and efforts, he has secured for the family a good soclal position and a comparatively rich life. People of all fields come to my house and, as a result, I gain lots of hard-earned social experiences and see more joys and sorrows of the world. But at home, he is a harsh parent. He has high expectations of me. When I am lazy and idling away my time, I can see that it hurts him deeply. When I am doing something great, such as writing a book, he is more than excited. With such a father I am always reminded to go on and on, never give up.我的父亲英语作文二:My fatherMy father always stands in the center of my life, from past till now and possibly in the future. My family was rather poor when I was in my childhood. We didn't have our own house and had to live in a shabby, small room rented from my father's factory. The room was so small that there was little space for people to walk. I didn't have my ownbed and had to sleep with my parents. This is terrible both for my parents and me.But father made this all different! Since the room was on the third floor, namely, the top floor in that old style building, the roof was quite high above the floor. So father got an idea. He bought two thick ropes and a flat wood that later was planed smooth, painted and drilled two holes on both ends. Then he hung the ends of ropes up to the roof. During the daytime, these two ropes would be tied up so that people down could walk freely! When night came, father would loose the ropes and tied them to the two holes of that flat wood. The length of these ropes was just long enough for me to sit or sleep on the board without other's help.So in this way my lovely, removable bed was born. When winter came, this special bed obviously wouldn't be able to make me feel warm enough. But father always had his so lution! He built a garret using some flat wood and iron sticks right above the bed. With some used iron tubes, he made an iron ladder for us to climb up to the garret. Besides, he made a wood en desk for me to do my homework, and some simple furniture for my clothes, books and something else he had in fact made a small bedroom for me.At first, my mother and I dared not climb for fear that it might collapse. But father climbed it everyday to prove its safety. The garret looked simple even shabby and the ladder seemed to decline soon. But later when I got used to it, I found it as solid as those made by professional carpenters.I carried all my personal things onto that garret. My father and I pasted red papers on the wall and painted the ugly furniture red. So the garret became the first "room" that belonged tome. When I was about to move to my new house, I just didn't want to leave. That garret was created with my father's love and sweat and intelligence, beautified with my hand and filled with so many sweet memories of my family! That hard but sweet life time would live in my memory forever with father stands in the center of it.我的父亲英语作文三:My FatherIf someone asks me who affects me most in my life, I will definitely tell him or her that the person should be no one else but my father. As a matter of fact, I have been much affected by father's humor, kindness, enterprise, strong will ever since I was a little girl.Father is well-known for his humor. He always makes use of his wit and humor to relax tense situation at work. He is m humorous that his colleagues and friends all enjoy staying with him. He also uses humor to create a very happy family atmosphere. My mother tends to chatter over little things. Sometimes she talks angrily without any pause. When this happens, father just listens to her without a word. "Why don't you say a word, man?", mother is more angry at father. At this time father would give a cup of tea to mother, then replies: "Why not have tea first, my dear? Just take your time to enjoy it. I'm always your attentive listener." Hearing these words, mother stops talking with her anger gone at once. Such funny scenes often appear between father and mother which makes our family life happy and interesting.我的'父亲英语作文四:My FatherMy father has small eyes,Wear a pair of glasses, looking more gently, the daddy's hair are not many, he said "the intelligent head does not grow hair",daddy does the management, but daddyusually ever not talk bureaucratically to others, therefore his personal connection is specially good,is the same as me.daddy speaks always extremely temperately, never say hit the person, curse at people are also few, calculated scolded people not to be big, although sometimes also can be angry for a longtime, but just only about one day, could no surpass in one day-long.He usually educate me that the person must to be honestly, friendly to other, and working diligently. This is my father, I love him forever.我的父亲英语作文五:My FatherThere is always a brilliant image living in my heart. That is my dear father. Seen through the eyes of many other people, father seems to be a very ordinary person. But he is quite extraordinary in my eyes, I have never lost my wonder at his good-personalities such as diligence, devotion, care, optimism ever since my childhood.Being a farmer, father works very hard in the fields all the year round. He works from dawn till dusk every day and even till midnight when it is the harvest season. He seldom enjoys leisure with other farmers even if the farm work is not much. He chooses to live a busy life with reluctance to stop for a while.Father devotes all himself to our family. As we are poor, he always tries his best to support our family and afford the tuitions for my brother and me. For the whole family, for brother and me, he never stops working laboriously in the fields throughout the year. Now he has got a wrinkled face and white hair because of excessive hard work, looking much older and weaker than any other person of his age. In spite of all this, father never complains to us. It is his full devotion that we're living a better life now. It ishis full devotion that both my brother and I are able to study at college.Father shows much care to us children and my mother as well. Whenever there is any delicious food on the table, he just leaves it to us while he takes the simple one himself. If my brother and I fall ill, he will not hesitate a moment to get some medicine for us or take us to see the doctor. My mother suffers a bad disease. Father looks after her very carefully. He never lets mother do any heavy work both at home and in the field. Mother appreciates him m much that she often praises him as a model husband before others.Father is a person full of optimism. He never complains about our poor life. He is never frustrated by trouble. He often tells us that everything will be all right if we have enough confidence in life. Due to his optimism, we are all confident to face our life and work.We all think that father is not in the least an ordinary man. He plays an extraordinary role in my family. We can't have anything without him. Now I'm pursuing further studies at college far away from father. I miss him very much. And I often see him in my dreams. His great image is deeply carved in my mind.我的父亲英语作文六:My FatherMy father is a tall man with a pair of glasses. Everyone says he is a kind-hearted man. 独自走夜路那一刻我长大了英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Moment I Grew Up While Walking Alone at NightIt was a crisp autumn night, the kind where you can see your breath vaporing into the darkness. I had just left Ashley's house after one of our typical Friday night movie marathons and snack binges. We'd been best friends since we were little kids catching lightning bugs in my backyard on summer evenings. Our friendship was as comfortable as an old pair of jeans. As I began the ten block walk home, I felt completely at ease amidst the peaceful quiet of my neighborhood after midnight. The only sounds were the occasional car driving by and the dry leaves crunching beneath my shoes. With my mind wandering, I didn't notice the two figures emerge from between a couple of parked cars up ahead until they were just a few yards away.In an instant, my sense of security was shattered. My heart knocked hard against my chest as two scraggly men stepped into the dim streetlight, blocking my path. One was unshaven with stringy hair partially covering his face. The other wasyounger, his hateful eyes sizing me up like a piece of meat. I could smell the sharp odor of stale alcohol and cigarettes."Well, well, what do we have here?" the older man slurred in a gravelly voice. "A little girl who's out awfully late, ain't she?"The drunken leer on his cracked lips made my skin crawl. I wanted to run, but I was paralyzed by fear. Panic rose in my throat as they started moving toward me."P-please, just let me go home," I managed to whisper, my voice trembling. "I-I don't want any trouble."The younger one snickered. "Hear that, Paulie? She don't want no trouble." He pulled something from his jacket pocket, a knife by the looks of the flickering metal. "Maybe the little lady better give us her purse and phone then, yeah?"My heart pounded harder, if that was even possible. This couldn't be happening. Not here in my safe little neighborhood I'd grown up in. But those dead eyes told me this was all too real.I clutched my purse strap tighter, panic quickly giving way to anger. How dare these wastes of life try to terrorize me? Somewhere deep down, a resilience I never knew I had began welling up inside me."You're not getting anything from me," I said, my voice steadier than I expected. I stared straight into the would-be robber's eyes, unflinching. The younger one's sneer twisted into a sneer. "Is that right?" He took a step closer, brandishing the knife. "Maybe you didn't hear me, bitch..."That awful word ignited something primal in me. In one blind motion, I drew back my bulky purse and swung it squarely into his face. The metal belongings inside made a sickening thud as they connected with his cheekbone. He crumpled to the pavement with a stunned cry, grasping his face as blood oozed between his fingers. In that moment, time seemed to stand still as I stared down at him, every ragged breath amplified in the silence. The shock of my own brash action quickly dissolved as the older man started lurching toward me with a drunken growl. Without thinking, I swung my purse again, catching him squarely in the throat. He gasped and collapsed to his knees, wheezing and clutching his neck.I didn't wait around another second. With my heart pounding through my skull, I ran...sprinted as fast as my legscould carry me down those abandoned streets, not daring to look back. It was like the world had suddenly tilted on its axis. Nothing felt real anymore.By the time I reached home, I was sobbing uncontrollably. My parents ushered me inside, trying in vain to calm me down and understand what had happened. I must have seemed hysterical, clinging to them and gasping out muddled words between sobs of "attacked..." and "almost mugged..."After what felt like an eternity, I was finally able to convey a coherent explanation. I'll never forget the looks on my parents' faces - the rage, fear and thankfulness all intermingled. We ended up calling the police, but the attackers were never caught, having slithered away like the cowards they were.In the days and weeks that followed, I stayed close to home, venturing out only for school. I jumped at every sound, fear gripping me constantly. My innocence and faith in the world's safety had been shattered in the span of a few terrifying minutes. But in time, the shock began to fade, replaced by a strange sense of resilience. When I replayed that night in my mind, I no longer felt like a victim. Yes, I had been afraid, terribly afraid. But I had also found an inner strength and defiance I never knewexisted. For the first time in my life, I had truly stood up for myself. As the weather turned cold and brittle, I found myself walking alone at night once again. No longer was I afraid of what might be lurking in the darkness. This time, I prowled those streets with propelled confidence, my guard up and my senses awake to every potential threat.I had stopped being the naive girl who thought nothing bad could ever happen in her perfect little world. A layer of innocence and child-like wonder had been stripped away, replaced by the sober realization that the world could be an ugly, dangerous place. I knew in my bones that I would have to stay vigilant at all times to protect myself and what I loved.Yet within that harsh truth, I had also glimpsed my own power to fight back, to stand my ground rather than surrender to fear. No longer was I a fragile little girl, but a fierce young woman ready to face the world head-on. On the precipice between childhood and true adulthood, I had been forced to make that frightening transition practically overnight. That terrible, life-altering incident hadn't made me "hard" in the sense of bitter or calloused. Rather, it had steeled my spirit to the realities of life while leaving my core values intact - valueslike integrity, compassion and justice that my parents had instilled since birth. But I now moved through the world with eyes wide open, prepared to fight for those values if need be.In the years since that fateful autumn night, there have been many more trials and obstacles that further tested thisnew-found resilience and heightened awareness. At times, the weight of the world's darkness threatened to drag me under. Through it all, that one visceral experience continued to empower me to keep swimming against the current, even when it felt like too much to bear.Looking back, it's strange to realize how one split-second could alter the entire trajectory of your life and way of thinking forever, for better or worse. In my case, I made the choice not to let darkness and fear consume me, but rather to metabolize them into a driving force.Where others might have remained perpetual victims after such a traumatic incident, I arose from those ashes as a guardian of all that is just and good in this world. I fight each day to uplift those around me and affect positive change through service and advocacy. Along the way, that primal night that first awakened my own power to rise up continues to motivate and inspire me.Perhaps most importantly, it instilled a profound respect for listening to those gut instincts - having the courage to always trust that visceral inner voice, even when it defies all logic and perceived safety. I may have physically "grown up" in many ways that fateful autumn night as an innocent child. But I also found the essence of who I'm truly meant to be as a woman - someone willing to stare darkness in the eye and declare with resounding voice, "Not today, and not on my watch."篇2The Moment I Grew Up Walking Alone at NightIt was just another Friday night. School was out, and the weekend stretched ahead with its usual intoxicating promise of freedom and possibility. My friends and I had made some typically overambitious plans to attend a party across town. After working our usual after-school jobs, we met up at the diner near campus to fuel up on burgers and fries before embarking on our adventure. The night started out feeling deliciously unencumbered, one of those warm spring evenings tinged with excitement simply because we were young, unfettered, and the world seemed to bend willfully to our whims. We laughed and joked as we alwaysdid, feeling indestructible in that way unique to teenagers convinced of their immortality. When we finally headed out around 10pm, the streets were bathed in that peculiar alchemy of streetlamps and neon signs that gives even the most mundane locations a sense of romantic possibility at night. A few blocks from the party, one of the guys realized he'd left his buzzcard back at the diner to get us into the venue. Confident it would only take a few minutes, he offered to double back and grab it while we went ahead."Don't worry, I'll catch up in no time," he'd said with his signature nonchalance. We'd walked these streets thousands of times and saw no danger, so we didn't think twice about splitting up temporarily. With a casual "See you soon," we headed off in opposite directions.Within minutes of parting ways, I noticed a few shadowy figures up ahead, lingering on a corner in a way that seemed slightly ominous. My intuition quickly kicked in with a faint sense of unease. I tried to dismiss it - we'd been in this neighborhood countless times without issue. But something about the way they were positioned, seemingly watching passersby with idle intent, tripped an instinctive warning flare.I automatically angled my path to give them a wide berth, keeping to the outermost edge of the sidewalk. Head down, I walked a little faster now, mentally chanting "Just keep going, don't make eye contact..." My heart rate started to quicken as I could feel their stares tracking me.Suddenly one of them broke off from the pack, stepping into the street a few yards ahead to block my path. "Hey pretty girl, where you going all alone tonight?" he called out with a sinister leer.In an instant, my heart seemed to stop as shards of vulnerability pierced my naive teenage bravado. I was abruptly aware that I was a lone female at night, the streets no longer feeling friendly and innocuous. My throat went dry as two more shadowy figures materialized, slowly flanking me from behind in a deliberately predatory manner."Just out for a walk," I stammered lamely, my voice coming out as a reedy croak. I knew the breezy nonchalance was painfully unconvincing."You sure you don't want some company?" the ringleader propositioned with an unsettling wink as he started ambling closer. "Pretty girls like you shouldn't be out all alone at night. It can be...dangerous."I could feel panic clawing at my chest as my ubuntu fallacy, the blissful delusion that no harm could befall me because I was young and naive to the world's cruelties, shattered like glass. In that visceral moment, I understood bone-deep that I was just a vulnerable girl dwarfed by sinister presences closing in with ill intent.Mustering every ounce of adrenaline and bravado, I squeaked out "I'm fine, thanks," while quickly sidestepping their advance and breaking into a brisk trot. My pulse was thundering now, feet hitting the pavement quicker as their taunting laughter followed my retreat like a menacing echo.I didn't dare slow down until I was several blocks away and the safety of the party finally appeared ahead, the music and raucous laughter pouring out from the open windows sounding almost heavenly after that harrowing gauntlet. My shaky legs and panicked gasps for air betrayed the fact that I'd just run a mental marathon, aging years in those few nightmarish minutes.By the time my friend caught up, visibly confused by my frazzled state, my childhood had abandoned me. That night irrevocably shed the protective filter that had buffered me from the harsher realities of the world. The carefree innocence thathad imbued even our shadowy city streets with a playful sense of adventure was gone.In its place was the jarring truth that I inhabited a woman's body that made me vulnerable in innumerable situations where most men would never even glimpse peril. My female form could be objectified and threatened simply by existing in public spaces, no matter how innocuous. The cluelessly charmed life of my youth had fled. From that night on, I started looking over my shoulder regularly when out after dark. I avoided certain areas I once would have ambled through without a second thought. I stopped wearing headphones at night to ensure I could hear any potential threats approaching from behind. Running alone was an early morning endeavor, never attempted at night. My friends and I began instinctively coordinating travel plans with "I'll text when I'm home" communications after separating. We restricted our routes to busier thoroughfares and double checked that cars were locked while parking. Basic safety protocols for existing while female became reflexive. The harsh reality of personal safety precautions were simply the ante to pay for navigating the world while statistically at higher risk of becoming a potential target - for violence, objectification, or worse. Willful obliviousness was a luxury surrendered that night in exchange for the jadedness of pragmatic vigilance.I didn't even realize how thoroughly that singular experience ravaged the innocence of my youth until a male friend candidly remarked sometime later, "It must be exhausting always having to be on guard like that." His words stopped me in my tracks with their insightful truth. That jarring encounter was one brutal growing moment in which the warm embrace of girlhood naivete prizing curiosity, trust and worldly idealism was torn away to make room for the streetwise caution, vigilance, and worst-case contingency planning of womanhood. An instantaneous rite of passage into the adulthood of hard-won wisdom about managing implicit risk simply for daring to exist in public spaces while female. While the shift was subconscious at the time, it fundamentally recontoured how I inhabited spaces and saw my surroundings through a lens of potential risk assessment rather than ritzy teenage abandon. I'd love to claim I emerged from that crucible indelibly hardened, spirit forever galvanized into a pillar of unshakable strength and resolve. But the truth is that a palpable sense of vulnerability permanently undercut anysemi-deluded childhood belief that I was infallible or immune to potential harm. What was seared into my psyche instead was a solemn mantra - spaces and situations that appear innocuous to many can hold implicit menace for someone presenting as female who catches the wrong person's eye. A heightened sense of latent peril became the inexorable price for the audacity of existing while young and female in shared public spaces.Did I ultimately emerge from that startling rite of passage stronger and savvier about personal safety? Absolutely. More guarded and resilient when needing to advocate for myself? Without a doubt. But the euphoric innocence of girlhood was sacrificed in exchange for the steely self-preservation instincts of womanhood. Growing up that night came at the price of shedding the hard-won naivete and idealism I'd cultivated over nearly two decades. In those fateful moments of feeling shockingly exposed and alone on a shady street corner, my lifelong faith that basic human decency would protect me from harm dissolved in the face of raw menace. A brutal awakening to the grim truth that some disreputable people simply don't subscribe to those civilized norms of basic respect. A harsh indoctrination that eveninnocuous public spaces can contain insidious undercurrents of threat simply for looking like a potential target. What was stolen from me that night was the blissful privilege of wholehearted trust in the world's basic benevolence. In its place was the jarring wisdom that feeling fundamentally safe is itself a fragile provision that can be revoked without warning. A taxing but clear-eyed initiation into the paradox of boldself-assuredness and simultaneous hyper-vigilance that too many women are forced to master as the price of simplyco-existing in shared spaces.篇3The Moment I Grew Up While Walking Alone at NightThe streetlights cast an eerie, flickering glow onto the deserted sidewalk as I hurried home alone, my footsteps echoing in the stillness of the night. It was well past midnight, and an uneasy feeling had settled in the pit of my stomach. This wasn't the first time I'd walked home from a friend's house at this hour, but tonight felt different – heavier, somehow.Maybe it was because I was finally a senior in high school, perched on the precipice of adulthood. The endless possibilities of college and the "real world" awaited me after graduation, daunting yet exhilarating. I couldn't be a carefree kid forever; real responsibilities were fast approaching. That realization hung over me like a storm cloud as I navigated the empty streets, hyper-aware of every suspicious sound and shadow.I hugged my jacket tighter against the chill night air, quickening my pace. Staying out so late had always felt like an act of rebellion before –, a quiet defiance of curfews and parental rules, fueled by a sense of teenage invincibility. After all, what could happen? I knew this neighborhood like the back of my hand. But tonight, my mind started playing out increasingly terrifying what-ifs.What if someone tried to mug me or worse? I'd seen the local news stories about attacks and abductions. Doubt crept in, stripping away my usual bravado. I was a seventeen-year-old girl alone in the dead of night. Anything could happen, no matter how familiar these streets were. The weight of my own vulnerability crashed over me like a wave.My palm grew slick against the can of pepper spray in my jacket pocket that I'd never actually considered using before tonight. With each step, my heart pounded harder, drumming in time with the litany of haunting scenarios unfolding in my head. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched, followed. The urban landscape that had once felt so innocuous was suddenly brimming with potential threats and blind alleys to be avoided at all costs.By the time my house finally came into view, I was a mess of frayed nerves and churning anxiety. I fumbled with my keys at the front door, hands trembling, before finally letting myself inside and double-locking it behind me. Only then could I release the breath I'd been holding, collapsing against the door in relief. I'd made it home unscathed, but that brief journey had irrevocably shaken my sense of security and stolen away the last vestiges of childhood naivety. In those few harrowing blocks, the blinders had been ripped off. I was forced to confront harsh realities about the world that I'd been blissfully ignorant of until that point. It wasn't the cozy, protected environment I'd lived in up until then. Terrible things really could happen, even in seemingly safe spaces, and I wasn't immune just because I was young. A mantle of healthy fear and vigilance had been thrust upon me that night. As I replayed those anxious moments in my mind, a profound sense of gratitude washed over me for making it home okay. But it was also a wake-up call about the privilege I'd enjoyed by being able to walk around so carelessly at all hoursbefore now. How many women and minorities never had that luxury, being forced to constantly assess risks and take precautions I'd been oblivious to?That night was a brutal initiation into the hyper-awareness and calculated decisions that too many people have to make on a daily basis just to keep themselves safe. It was a heavy burden of adulthood that I hadn't been prepared to shoulder quite yet. But in that singular experience, the security blanket had been violently torn away to reveal the harsh world waiting on the other side of high school graduation. There was no going back to the way things were before. In the days and weeks afterward, I found myself making different choices. I avoided isolated areas, especially at night. I was more cautious about being out alone for too long and constantly mapping exits wherever I went. My mom's frantic calls when I was out late didn't seem so overbearing anymore; I finally understood where that fear came from in a very real,gut-punching way.Suddenly, the transition towards independence didn't seem quite as freeing and exciting as it had before that night. The sobering realities of adulthood loomed larger. While I'd fantasized about the ability to come and go as I pleased afterturning eighteen, now I had to weigh independence against the risks of being a young woman on my own navigating this unpredictable world. There was a heaviness that settled over me in the wake of that isolated, terrifying experience. But as traumatic as it was in the moment, I'm thankful for that night and the premature wake-up call it provided. Too many of us spend our youths coddled and oblivious to the dangers lurking that others have to be hyper-vigilant against every single day. In a weird way, having the veil lifted prepared me for the realities I'd soon be facing rather than allowing me to stay naively sheltered.I emerged from that solitary journey irreversibly changed –shaken, but wiser; still clinging to the lingering threads of childhood even as I was forcibly straddling the line into adulthood. While it was a harsh and unsettling transition, it made me comprehend on a bone-deep level the need to always remain aware of my surroundings and trust my instincts about people and situations that seem off, no matter how irrational the fears may seem on the surface. As scary as the experience was, I'm grateful that I don't take my safety for granted anymore. I now move through the world as a more vigilant, empowered adult instead of remaining aoblivious, reckless youth forever. That one harrowing walk was the turning point that ensured I'd be better equipped for the challenges of adulthood lying just ahead. In those few nighttime blocks, I grew up in a profound way – wilting momentarily under the sudden pressures of vigilance and fear, but ultimately emerging stronger, wiser, and with a deeper sense of the importance of staying safe in an unpredictable world.。

Three Days to Seeby Helen KellerHelen Keller, blind and deaf from infancy, became a successful lecturer, author and educator with the help of her teacher. In the following essay, she discussed how people should value their ability to see.All of us have read thrilling stories in which the hero had only a limited and specified time to live. Sometimes it was as long as a year; sometimes as short as twenty-four hours. But always we were interested in discovering just how the doomed man chose to spend his last days or his last hours. I speak, of course, of free men who have a choice, not condemned criminals whose sphere of activities is strictly delimited.Such stories set us thinking, wondering what we should do under similar circumstances. What events, what experiences, what associations should we crowd into those last hours as mortal beings? What happiness should we find in reviewing the past, what regrets? Sometimes I have thought it would be an excellent rule to live each day as if we should die tomorrow. Such an attitude would emphasize sharply the values of life. We should live each day with a gentleness, a vigor, and a keenness of appreciation which are often lost when time stretches before us in the constant panorama of more days and months and years to come. There are those, of course, who would adopt the Epicurean motto of "Eat, drink, and be merry;" but most people would be chastened by the certainty of impending death. In stories, the doomed hero is usually saved at the last minute by some stroke of fortune, but almost always his sense of values is changed. He becomes more appreciative of the meaningof life and its permanent spiritual values. It has often been noted that those who live, or have lived, in the shadow of death bring a mellow sweetness to everything they do.Most of us, however, take life for granted. We know that one day we must die, but usually we picture that day as far in the future. When we are in buoyant health, death is all but unimaginable. We seldom think of it. The days stretch out in an endless vista. So we go about our petty tasks, hardly aware of our listless attitude toward life. The same lethargy, I am afraid, characterizes the use of all our faculties and senses. Only the deaf appreciate hearing, only the blind realize the manifold blessings that lie in sight. Particularly does this observation apply to those who have lost sight and hearing in adult life. But those who have never suffered impairment of sight or hearing seldom make the fullest use of these blessed faculties. Their eyes and ears take in all sights and sounds hazily, without concentration, and with little appreciation. It is the same old story of not being grateful for what we have until we lose it, of not being conscious of health until we are ill.I have often thought it would be a blessing if each human being were stricken blind and deaf for a few days at some time during his early adult life. Darkness would make him more appreciative of sight; silence would teach him the joys of sound. Now and then I have tested my seeing friends to discover what they see. Recently I was visited by a very good friend who had just returned from a long walk in the woods, and I asked her what she had observed. "Nothing in particular," she replied. I might have been incredulous had I not been accustomed to such responses, for long ago I became convinced that the seeing see little. How was it possible, I asked myself, to walk for an hour through the woods and see nothing worthy of note? I who cannot see find hundreds of things to interest me through mere touch.I feel the delicate symmetry of a leaf. I pass my hands lovingly about the smooth skin of a silver birch, or the rough shaggy bark of a pine. In spring I touch the branches of trees hopefully in search of a bud, the first sign of awakening Nature after her winter's sleep. I feel the delightful, velvety texture of a flower, and discover its remarkable convolutions; and something of the miracle of Nature is revealed to me. Occasionally, if I am very fortunate, I place my hand gently on a small tree and feel the happy quiver of a bird in full song. I am delighted to have the cool water of a brook rush through my open fingers. To me a lush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug. To me the pageant of seasons is a thrilling and unending drama, the action of which streams through my finger tips.At times my heart cries out with longing to see all these things. If I can get so much pleasure from mere touch, how much more beauty must be revealed by sight. Yet, those who have eyes apparently see little. The panorama of colour and action which fills the world is taken for granted. It is human, perhaps, to appreciate little that which we have and to long for that which we have not, but it is a great pity that in the world of light the gift of sight is used only as a mere convenience rather than as a means of adding fullness to life.If I were the president of a university I should establish a compulsory course in "How to Use Your Eyes". The professor would try to show his pupils how they could add joy to their lives by really seeing what passes unnoticed before them. He would try to awake their dormant and sluggish faculties.Suppose you set your mind to work on the problem of how you would use your own eyes if you had only three more days to see. If with the oncoming darkness of the third night you knew that the sun would never rise for you again, how would you spend those three precious intervening days? What would you most want to let your gaze rest upon?I, naturally, should want most to see the things which have become dear to me through my years of darkness. You, too, would want to let your eyes rest long on the things that have become dear to you so that you could take the memory of them with you into the night that loomed before you.I should want to see the people whose kindness and gentleness and companionship have made my life worth living. First I should like to gaze long upon the face of my dear teacher, Mrs. Anne Sullivan Macy, who came to me when I was a child and opened the outer world to me. I should want not merely to see the outline of her face, so that I could cherish it in my memory, but to study that face and find in it the living evidence of the sympathetic tenderness and patience with which she accomplished the difficult tasks of my education. I should like to see in her eyes that strength of character which has enabled her to stand firm in the face of difficulties, and that compassion for all humanity which she has revealed to me so often.I do not know what it is to see into the heart of a friend through that "window of the soul", the eye. I can only "see" through my finger tips the outline of a face. I can detect laughter, sorrow, and many other obvious emotions. I know my friends from the feel of their faces. But I cannot really picture their personalities by touch. I know their personalities, of course, through other means, through the thoughts they express to me, through whatever of their actions are revealed to me. But I am denied that deeper understanding of them which I am sure would come through sight of them through watching their reactions to various expressed thoughts and circumstances, through noting the immediate and fleeting reactions of their eyes and countenance.Friends who are near to me I know well, because through the months and years they reveal themselves to me in all their phases; but of causal friends I have only an incomplete impression, an impression gained from a handclasp, from spoken words which I take from their lips with my finger tips, or which they tap into the palm of my hand. How much easier, how much more satisfying it is for you who can see to grasp quickly the essential qualities of another person by watching the subtleties of expression, the quiver of a muscle, the flutter of a hand. But does it ever occur to you to use your sight to see into the inner nature of a friend or acquaintance? Do not most of you seeing people grasp casually the outward features of a face and let it go at that? For instance, can you describe accurately the faces of five good friends? Some of you can, but many cannot. As an experiment, I have questioned husbands of long standing about the color of their wives' eyes, and often they express embarrassed confusion and admit that they do not know. And, incidentally, it is a chronic complaint of wives that their husbands do not notice new dresses, new hats, and changes in household arrangements. The eyes of seeing persons soon become accustomed to the routine of their surroundings, and they actually see only the startling and spectacular. But even in viewing the most spectacular sights the eyes are lazy. Court records reveal every day how inaccurately"eyewitnesses" see. A given event will be "seen" in several different ways by as many witnesses. Some see more than others, but few see everything that is within the range of their vision.Oh, the things that I should see if I had the power of sight for just three days!<1634 words> 译文假如我有三天光明海伦·凯勒海伦·凯勒自幼就又盲又聋,在老师的帮助下成为一名成功的讲师、作家及教育家。

Looking at life through the eyes of Children
When we were children, everything we saw was new, wonderful, exciting and unbelievable. We were happy if it was raining or snowing, if it was hot or cold, if it was night or day. We just wanted discover all the things that were around us.
For us the only big difference was that we were awake or asleep. When we were awake, we wanted to extended the time just for playing with our friends or being with our pet a little more time.
But we can't stop time. Children grow and we become adults; and as adults, we no longer have enough time for little things ---discovering a rainbow is not surprising, seeing a building with 50 floors is not amazing, and looking at a giraffe in the zoo is normal. A rainy day is a bad day because the traffic will be slow, and the first day of spring makes us think about alliergies.
The first day of the month is not the begainning of a new month; it's the time to think about bills. Going to the supermarket is an obligation; it is not just for the pleasure of walking down the aisles and looking for things and seeing the people around us.
Life is a process in which everyone has many obligations, but everyone tried to see through the eyes of a child, I am sure that everyday could be better.。
