Book 1 unit4 Earthquake

Teaching aims:

1.Help students to recall some important expressions that appear in this unit.

2.To review the usage of some key words and phrases.

Teaching important points:

The usage of the key words, phrases and their extension.

Teaching difficult points:

How to get students to grasp all these useful expressions and use them properly.

说明:单元整体复习计划和课时安排(以一轮复习资料书“优化方案+课本”为主)Period 1. Self-study(回归教材,大声诵读,找出核心单词,高频短语,精彩佳句。)Period 2. Key words and phrases (单词短语—讲练互动—精讲精练)

Period 3. Key sentences and tracking training(佳句赏析—真题在线—跟踪演练)period 4. 优化方案—课时达标检测(10个选择题+10个完成句子+一篇完型填空+ 一篇阅读理解)

另外:1.每周一晚自习做一套综合试卷,训练一次作文,优秀作文复印给全班点评。

2.每复习完两个单元穿插复习一个语法专题。(按考点精选试题—精讲精练)

T: In the last class, I asked you to go through unit 4 Earthquake thoroughly especially the text“A night the earth didn’t sleep” to find out all the key words and phrases that you think useful. Now I want to ask some students to present what you have found.

(I will present some key words and phrases in this unit on the screen.)

Step 3.Practice(语境助记)

根据汉语提示写单词或短语。

1.The bitter cold in winter has caused the pipe to burst (爆裂).

2.Many workers were buried (掩埋)when there was an accident at the mine.

3.The decisions we make now may influence the course of the events (大事)

in the future.

4.Three people were injured (受伤)in the crash.

5.Parents often fall into the trap (陷阱)of trying to do everything for their children.

6.Neighbors were shocked (震惊)that such an attack could happen in their area.

7.People were desperately seeking shelter(躲避处)from the gunfire.

9.The earthquake left the whole town in ruins(成为废墟). what a terrible sight!

10.She was shaking with terror as if(似乎)she had seen something terrible.

高频词:1.burst: vi./n.爆裂,爆发;突然破裂;突然出现
