Sure, here's a draft:---。
Staring at the blank page, mind as empty as a barren desert. The cursor blinks mockingly, daring me to conjure words out of thin air. But words are slippery creatures, elusive as ghosts in the mist. Yet here I sit, grappling with them like a fisherman in a storm-tossed sea.A sip of lukewarm coffee, bitter as regret, fuels my weary fingers to dance across the keyboard. Each keystroke is a tiny victory, a conquest of the void. But victory is fleeting, slipping through my grasp like sand through an hourglass.Outside, the world bustles with life, oblivious to my solitary struggle. Birds chirp, cars honk, and laughter drifts through the open window like a tantalizing whisper.Yet in this cocoon of silence, I am alone with my thoughts, wrestling with the demons of doubt and uncertainty.Hours pass like seconds, days like hours. Time is acruel master, relentless in its march forward. But still, I cling to the hope that somewhere in this labyrinth of words, there lies a glimmer of truth, a spark of inspirationwaiting to ignite the darkness. And then, like a bolt from the blue, it comes. A sentence, a fragment, a shard of brilliance piercing theveil of mediocrity. And suddenly, the words flow like ariver unleashed, sweeping me along in its tumultuous embrace. In the end, the page is no longer blank, the cursor no longer mocks. For in the chaos of creation, I have found my voice, my purpose, my reason to continue. And though tomorrow may bring new challenges, new battles to fight, I know that as long as there are words, I will never be truly alone.---。
Climate change, or global warming, has become a major concern for the world. The phenomenon of global warming refers to the gradual increase in the Earth's temperature due to the release of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and methane, into the atmosphere. This has led to a number of serious environmental and social issues, including rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and the displacement of communities. One of the main causes of global warming is the burning of fossil fuels, such as coal, oil, and natural gas, for energy. This releases large amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which traps heat and leads to the warming of the planet. In addition, deforestation and industrial processes also contribute to the release of greenhousegases. The consequences of global warming are far-reaching and have the potential to affect every aspect of human life. Rising sea levels are threatening coastal communities and ecosystems, while extreme weather events, such as hurricanes and droughts, are becoming more frequent and severe. These changes are also impacting agriculture and food security, as well as the availability of clean water. In order to address the issue of global warming, it is essential for governments, businesses, and individuals to take action. This includes reducing carbon emissions through the use of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, as well as improving energy efficiency in buildings and transportation. In addition, efforts to protect and restore forests and other natural ecosystems are crucial for sequestering carbon and mitigating the effects of climate change.Furthermore, international cooperation is essential for addressing the global nature of the problem. The ParisAgreement, which was adopted in 2015, is a significant step towards this goal, as it aims to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius. However, it is important for countries to not only meet their commitments under the agreement but to also increase their ambition in order to effectively combat climate change.Individuals also have a role to play in addressing global warming. By making small changes in their daily lives, such as reducing energy consumption and waste, and supporting sustainable practices, they can contribute to the collective effort to combat climate change. In conclusion, global warming is a pressing issue that requires immediate and concerted action. By working together at the local, national, and international levels, we can mitigate the effects of climate change and create a more sustainable future for generations to come. It is imperative that we take responsibility for our actions and make the necessary changes to protect the planet and its inhabitants.。
I woke up this morning feeling a little groggy, but after a hot shower and a strong cup of coffee, I was ready to take on the day. The sun was shining, and I could feel the energy buzzing around me. I decided to go for a run in the park, and it felt amazing to be outside, breathing in the fresh air and feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin. After my run, I headed to my favorite café for breakfast. I ordered a big stack of pancakes with a side of crispy bacon, and I savored every bite. The café w as bustling with people, and I couldn't help but smile as I listened to the chatter around me. There's something about the sound of people's voices that just makes me feel alive. As I walked back home, I couldn't shake the feeling of contentment that had settled over me. I thought about all the things I wanted to accomplish today, and I felt a surge of motivation. I have a long to-do list, but I'm determined to tackle it with enthusiasm and positivity.I spent the rest of the day working on various projects, and I was surprised by how much I was able to accomplish. I think the combination of exercise, good food, and positive energy really set the tone for a productive day. I'mfeeling proud of myself and excited to see what tomorrow brings.。

They were interested in the evolution of language and the linguistic capabilities of great apes. Previous attempts to teach chimpanzees to talk had ended in failure and the matter was considered by most people to be closed. But the Gardners realised that speech and language are not the same thing. Many deaf people, for example, are unable to speak but are perfectly able to communicate by gestures that have all the attributes and sophistication of spoken language. Given the very different anatomies of the human and chimpanzee larynx, the Gardners suspected that previous experiments had failed because chimps are physically incapable of speech. They therefore decided to try teaching a chimpanzee to sign in the way that deaf people do. And their chosen subject, a female chimp named Washoe after the county in which the university campus is located, proved an adept pupil. Though there is still debate about whether what Washoe learned was really equivalent to human language, there is no doubt that she learned a lot of words. She now has a vocabulary of about 200. All of this, however, raises a second question. If Washoe and her successors can learn a complex and arbitrary vocabulary of gestures from people, do they have such vocabularies naturally? To examine that possibility Amy Pollick and Frans de Waal, of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, have looked at gestures and expressions in chimpanzees and their cousins, bonobos.Signalling by facial and vocal expression is ubiquitous among primates. Signalling by gesture is confined to the great apes. The researchers' hypothesis was that the meaning of expressions has been hard-wired by evolution whereas the meaning of gestures is learnt and, at least to some extent, is arbitrary. If that were true, particular sorts of facial and vocal expression would occur only in particular contexts, and that this would be consistent across groups and even species. The same gestures, by contrast, would be used in different contexts. The researchers found exactly what they expected. Expressions (“silent bared teeth”, “relaxed open mouth”, “pant hoot” and so on) almost always occurred in the same contexts in different groups and different species. Gestures (“hard touch”, “reach outside”, “slap ground” etc) did not. Half of the gestures Dr Pollick and Dr de Waal regularly observed seemed to have completely different meanings in the two species. Moreover, even within a single group, the meaning of a gesture could vary with context, almost as tone of voice can vary the meaning of a human's spoken word.It is also worth remembering that gesture is still a crucial part of human language, even for those with normal hearing. The old joke that the way to render an Italian speechless is to tie his hands together has a kernel of truth in it. Evolution does not come up with complicated structures in a single leap. They are built up step by step. This study suggests that the step of speech may have been built on mental attributes that were acquired millions of years ago when the ancestors of apes and men began to wave meaningfully at each other.
In the contemporary era, the integration of technology into education has become an indispensable aspect of learning. The rapid advancement of technology has revolutionized the way students learn and teachers teach. This essay aims to explore the role of technology in modern education and its impact on the learning process.Introduction:The dawn of the 21st century has witnessed a significantshift in educational methodologies. Technology has permeated every facet of education, from the classroom to the examination hall. The introduction of computers, the internet, and various educational software has transformed the educational landscape.Body Paragraph 1: Enhanced Learning ExperienceOne of the most significant contributions of technology to education is the enhancement of the learning experience. Interactive whiteboards, multimedia presentations, and online learning platforms have made learning more engaging andinteractive. Students can now visualize complex concepts, participate in virtual experiments, and access a wealth of information at their fingertips.Body Paragraph 2: Accessibility and ConvenienceTechnology has also made education more accessible and convenient. Online courses and e-learning platforms have broken the geographical barriers to education. Students can now enroll in courses from institutions across the globe without leaving their homes. This has democratized education and made it possible for a larger number of students to pursue higher education.Body Paragraph 3: Challenges and ConsiderationsDespite the numerous benefits, the integration of technology in education also poses certain challenges. Issues such as digital divide, where not all students have equal access to technology, and the need for continuous training for teachers to keep up with technological advancements, are areas of concern. Additionally, there is a risk of over-reliance on technology, which could potentially undermine the importance of human interaction and critical thinking in the learning process. Conclusion:In conclusion, technology has undeniably played a pivotalrole in shaping modern education. It has the potential to enhance learning experiences, increase accessibility, and provide convenience. However, it is crucial to address the challenges associated with its use to ensure that technology serves as a tool for empowerment rather than a barrier toequitable education.

It wasn’t: for many, there is still little to match the joy of cracking the spine of a good book and settling down for an hour or two of reading. But a recent flurry of activity by big technology companies—including Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Yahoo!—suggests that the dream of bringing books online is still very much alive. The digitising of thousands of volumes of print is not without controversy. On Thursday November 3rd, Google, the world’s most popular search engine, posted a first instalment of books on Google Print, an initiative first mooted a year ago. This collaborative effort between Google and several of the world’s leading research libraries aims to make many thousands of books available to be searched and read online free of charge. Although the books included so far are not covered by copyright, the plan has attracted the ire of publishers.Five large book firms are suing Google for violating copyright on material that it has scanned and, although out of print, is still protected by law. Google has said that it will only publish short extracts from material under copyright unless given express permission to publish more, but publishers are unconvinced. Ironically, many publishers are collaborating with Google on a separate venture, Google Print Publisher, which aims to give readers an online taste of books that are commercially available. The searchable collection of extracts and book information is intended to tempt readers to buy the complete books online or in print form. Not to be outdone, Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, has unveiled plans for its own foray into the mass e-book market. The firm, which began ten years ago as an online book retailer, now sells a vast array of goods. No doubt piqued that Google, a relative newcomer, should impinge upon its central territory, Amazon revealed on Thursday that it would introduce two new services. Amazon Pages will allow customers to search for key terms in selected books and then buy and read online whatever part they wish, from individual pages to chapters or complete works. Amazon Upgrade will give customers online access to books they have already purchased as hard copies. Customers are likely to have to pay around five cents a page, with the bulk going to the publisher.Microsoft, too, has joined the online-book bandwagon. At the end of October, the software giant said it would spend around $200m to digitise texts, starting with 150,000 that are in the public domain, to avoid legal problems. It will do so in collaboration with the Open Content Alliance, a consortium of libraries and universities. (Yahoo! has pledged to make 18,000 books available online in conjunction with the same organisation.) And on Thursday, coincidentally the same day as Google and Amazon announced their initiatives, Microsoft released details of a deal with the British Library, the country’s main reference library, to digitise some 25m pages; these will be made available through MSN Book Search, which will be launched next year.
In 2008, the journey of preparing for the postgraduate entrance exam was a challenging but rewarding experience. The first thing that stood out was the mountain of booksand materials that needed to be digested. It was like a treasure hunt, sifting through pages of information to find the nuggets of knowledge that would help me succeed.Studying wasn't just about memorizing facts and figures, it was about understanding concepts and applying them inreal-world scenarios. The process was both frustrating and exciting, as I would often find myself stuck on a problemfor hours before finally seeing the light bulb moment. One of the most valuable aspects of preparing for the exam was the camaraderie among fellow aspirants. We supported each other, shared tips and tricks, and commiserated over the stress and anxiety that came with the territory. It was like a mini-community of like-minded individuals, all striving for the same goal.Of course, there were days when the going was tough and motivation seemed to be in short supply. But those were the days that taught me resilience and perseverance. I learned that success doesn't come easy, and that it's okay。
It goes without saying that this drawing aims at revealing a thought-provoking phenomenon around us: cooperation serves as the best weapon when we face difficulties and challenges in life. In this cartoon, handicapped as they are, two young adults help each other to step forward bravely, and their crutches are left behind. Obviously, the two courageous men will not need their crutches anymore and will keep walking. The two young men in the cartoon symbolize those who choose to cooperate and support each other when they are in hardships. I can think of no better illustration of this idea than the fact that a great many students motivate and encourage each other when they are in the process of preparing for the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination. The overwhelming pressure from this exam may make some students doubtful about their chances to pass it. However, they soon regain the confidence and courage after cheering each other up,for they know it clearly that only cooperation and team work can make it possible for them to go through in face of anxieties and insecurity. The value of team work and cooperation can best be manifested only in adverse situations, and we could make achievement as long as we will bind together as a team. I am fully convinced that failure is the only destination waiting for us if we lose our faith in each other.。
In 2008, I took the postgraduate entrance exam for English. It was a challenging experience, but also a rewarding one. The exam covered a wide range of topics, including reading comprehension, writing, and listening. I remember feeling nervous and anxious before the exam, but I had prepared myself well by practicing past exam papers and improving my English skills. One of the most difficult parts of the exam for me was the writing section. I had to write an essay on a giventopic within a limited time frame. I remember feeling the pressure of time and having to organize my thoughts quickly. However, I managed to write a coherent and well-structured essay, thanks to my preparation and practice. The listening section was also quite challenging, as it required a good understanding of spoken English. I had tolisten to various recordings and answer questions based on what I heard. It was a test of my listening and comprehension skills, but I was able to perform well by focusing and concentrating during the exam.Overall, the 2008 postgraduate entrance exam for English was a tough but valuable experience for me. It pushed me to improve my English skills and taught me the importance of preparation and practice. I'm proud to say that I passed the exam and got into the postgraduate program I wanted.
In 2008, I took the postgraduate entrance exam for English. It was a challenging experience, but also a rewarding one. The exam consisted of three parts: listening, reading, and writing. For the listening part, I had tolisten to a recording and answer questions based on what I heard. This was quite difficult for me because I wasn'tused to the speed and accent of the speakers. However, I practiced a lot by listening to English podcasts and watching English movies, which helped me improve mylistening skills. For the reading part, I had to read several passagesand answer questions about them. Some of the passages were quite long and complex, so I had to read them carefully and make sure I understood the main points. I also practiced reading academic articles and essays to get used to thestyle of writing that would be on the exam. The writing part was the most challenging for me. I had to write two essays, one on a given topic and one based on a reading passage. I had to make sure my writing was clear, coherent, and well-organized. I practiced writing essays on various topics and had my friends and teachers review them to get feedback.Overall, preparing for the exam was a lot of hard work, but it was worth it in the end. I passed the exam and got into the postgraduate program I wanted. It taught me the importance of perseverance and hard work, and I am grateful for the experience.

Louis Gallois is the troubled European airframe-maker's third chief executive within 12 months. But still he declared: “I can tell you with full confidence that Airbus is back and fully back.” Supporting his confident public message was an extraordinary flow of orders and commitments for over 600 aircraft accumulated in time for the show by the firm's super-salesman, John Leahy.Although it is heading for a second successive loss—last year it plunged 572m ($718m) into the red—Airbus is undoubtedly in better shape than it was 12 months ago when wiring problems delayed the A380 and the weak dollar exposed the firm's bloated cost base. It has begun the “Power8” recovery plan, intended to save 2 billion annually by cutting 10,000 jobs and auctioning off six factories to partners. And the giant A380 will begin commercial service with Singapore Airlines in the autumn, although being two years late.In the contest between the twin-engined wide-body Boeing 787 and the A350 XWB, Mr Gallois struggles to be as positive. The 787 is already a sales phenomenon, with over 630 firm orders even before the plane's roll-out next month. The airlines are excited by its revolutionary use of a composite material called carbon-reinforced plastic (CRP). Five years behind the 787, which will enter service next year, the A350 contains a similar share of composite material, but is based on a less advanced structural design that involves hanging CRP panels on a titanium frame. Boeing acknowledges that the A350 may be as light as the 787, but argues that it will be a less pleasant plane to fly in and a more difficult one to maintain.Mr Gallois admits that following Boeing's approach would have been too expensive and risky for Airbus. At the same time Mr Gallois bemoaned the advantage his rival has in government-supported research and development. Boeing, he claims, receives about $800m a year—ten times as much as Airbus. Earlier in the week, during meetings with ministers representing the four Airbus partners (France, Germany, Britain and Spain), he asked them to fund half the company's planned 600m-a-year investment in research and technology. He is not hopeful. But for the moment what matters most for Airbus is that the market stays strong and that it gets to grips with its costs. This may require going further in imitating Boeing's risk-sharing partner (RSP) model than Airbus seems willing to contemplate. According to some estimates, about 80% of the work on the 787 is outsourced to RSPs, saving Boeing both precious development time and working capital. What this week has shown is that for all the success of the 787 and the mistakes of Airbus, the competitive duopoly of the past decade is still firmly in place. But will things stay that way? That depends partly on whether Airbus really has learnt its lessons and partly on who else wants to get into the game. Boeing reckons that in 20 years, 36% of the market will be in the Asia-Pacific region. For the time being, the Chinese, the Indians and others are happy to be partners and customers. But that could change.
2008年考研英语小作文篇一:2008年考研作文英语一collaboration In the middle of the miniature come two physically challenged folks whose disabled legs was bound together so that they could run with agility shoulder to shoulder. What a revealing picture it is! And it is without any exaggeration that the spirit demonstrated by this illustration touches me deeply. Apparently, the miniaturist intends to reveal a very practical life philosophy to the effect that collaboration really does matter much.It is a truth universally acknowledged that almost all of the high-achievers pocket this sort of quality, virtually. Indeed. Those who are not proficient in cooperation with others can hardly survive in this cooperative community where people are in need of mutual help and it is difficult to the point of impossibility for those lacking of the capacity to seeking cooperation with others to get a high achievement, not to mention to gain a edge over their counterparts or rivals in the future career life. Examples abound. Take Kobe, a legend basketball player and the beloved icon of our generation. It is his fantastic teamwork spirit that give a huge boost to his as well as his team's success.Consequently, collaboration counts so much that we all people are under the imperative to foster this sort of invaluable quality. Only when we folks enjoy this initiative to cooperate spontaneously with our others can we possess the possibility to achieve success in our future life journey.篇二:2008年考研英语一真题作文2008年考研英语一真题作文《文化火炉》Muti-culture does exert such a profound effect on our life that it revolutionizes the way of people’s living and thinking. As is subtly revealed in the portrayal, there is a cultural hotpot,in which are Kong Fu,opera and Swan Lake and so on.There is a one sentence which highlights the meaning:cultural hotpot is both delicious and nutritious. As an old saying goes:“Accept all as the sea is converged by all rivers.”which tells us we should hold a broad mind towards foreigner culture. With the development of society and reform and opening up to outside world, all kinds of foreigner culture are flocking, which provides a good chance for us to accept them. In 2008, I took the postgraduate entrance exam. It was a challenging and nerve-wracking experience. The exam room was packed with students from different backgrounds, all hoping to secure a spot in their desired universities. The atmosphere was tense, with everyone anxiously flipping through their notes and trying to recall every piece of information they had studied. As the exam began, I felt a mix of excitement and fear. The first question was about my major, and I was relieved to find that I knew the answer. However, as I moved on to the next question, I realized that it was much moredifficult than I had anticipated. My mind went blank, and I struggled to come up with a coherent response. I could feel the pressure building up inside me as time ticked away.Despite the challenges, I refused to give up. I reminded myself of all the hard work and sacrifices I had made to get to this point. I knew that I couldn't letmyself down. With renewed determination, I pushed through the remaining questions, relying on my instincts andintuition to guide me. It was a test not only of my knowledge but also of my resilience and perseverance. After what felt like an eternity, the exam finally came to an end. I handed in my paper and walked out of the exam room, feeling a mix of relief and uncertainty. I couldn't help but wonder if I had done enough to secure a place inmy dream university. The competition was fierce, and I knew that I was up against some of the brightest minds in the country. In the days that followed, I anxiously awaited the release of the exam results. Every time my phone rang, my heart skipped a beat. Finally, the day arrived when the results were announced. I nervously logged into the website and searched for my name. And there it was, a small victory in the form of my name on the list of successful candidates.I couldn't believe it. All the hard work and sleeplessnights had paid off.Looking back on that experience, I realized that the exam was not just a test of my academic abilities but also a test of my character. It taught me the importance of perseverance, determination, and the ability to handle pressure. It also made me appreciate the value of hard work and the satisfaction that comes from achieving a goal.In conclusion, the 2008 postgraduate entrance exam was a challenging and transformative experience for me. It pushed me to my limits and taught me valuable life lessons. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, but in the end, it was all worth it.。
08年考研英语写作30篇范文必背――冲刺法宝对待时间的态度对待时间的态度范文(一)Writing (图画提纲式议论文)Directions: Study the following set of cartoons carefully and write an essay in which youshould1) describe the cartoons,2) state its main idea, and give your comment. You should write about 160—200 words neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2. (20 points)范文These two cartoons show two contrasting scenes. While the male student spends all his time and money playing Internet games, the female student studies diligently. One could easily argue that a bright future awaits the students who study hard, while those who waste tuition playing games have little to look forward to. The above images encourage students to value their time in school and take advantage of educational opportunities. While students dream of being accepted into college for years, they often become lost once admitted. Without their parents' constant support and advice, or because of limited communication with teachers, many students are unable to focus on their future goals. Such confusion leads some to forget their studies and resort to playing on the Internet, among other forms of recreation.Students should not only keep their ambitions in mind, but also seriously strive towards them. Without a clear purpose, one might easily waste crucial years neglecting one's studies.Constantly playing on the Internet leads to failure, while continuously studying guarantees success. Students need to appreciate their time in school, and work hard in order to ensure a good future.
Wow, 2008 was such a crazy year. I mean, so much stuff happened, it's hard to even know where to start. First off, there was the Beijing Olympics, which was just insane. The whole world was watching, and China really put on a show. It was like nothing anyone had ever seen before. But then, on the other hand, there was all this crazy stuff happening in the financial world. The whole global economy was going down the tubes, and it was like every day there was some new crisis. It was pretty scary, to be honest. And then, of course, there was the US presidential election. I mean, Obama was elected as the first African American president, and that was just huge. It felt like a real turning point in history, you know? But then, on a more personal level, I feel like 2008 was the year when social media really took off. Like,Facebook and Twitter were suddenly everywhere, and it felt like the way we communicate was changing right in front of our eyes. And let's not forget about all the natural disasters that year. It seemed like there were earthquakes and hurricanes and tsunamis happening all the time. It was like the planet was trying to tell us something, you know?So yeah, 2008 was a pretty wild year. It had its ups and downs, that's for sure. But looking back, it feels like it was a real turning point in a lot of ways. Like, the world was changing right in front of our eyes, and we were all just trying to keep up.。
I remember the first time I traveled alone to a foreign country. The excitement and nervousness mixed together, creating a sense of exhilaration that I will never forget. The smell of freshly baked bread always reminds me of my childhood. It brings back memories of lazy Sunday mornings spent with my family, enjoying a simple breakfast together. The sound of rain tapping against my window is one of the most soothing sounds to me. It's like nature's lullaby, calming me down after a long and stressful day.The taste of my grandmother's homemade apple pie is something I can never replicate. It's a perfect combination of sweet and tart, with a flaky crust that melts in your mouth. The feeling of sand between my toes as I walk along thebeach is pure bliss. The warmth of the sun on my skin, the sound of the waves crashing against the shore – it's a moment of pure relaxation. The sight of a rainbow after a storm always fills me with hope. It's a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is still beauty and light to be found. The touch of a loved one's hand in mine is a comfort like no other. It's a simple gesture that speaks volumes, conveying love, support, and understanding without a single word.。
