Abel

The LED indicators will dim slightly after 60 seconds without any buttons being pressed.SWINGWhen the unit is on, press the swing button to enable the oscillation feature. The vertical louvers will oscillate automatically back and forth 80 degrees in total. In addition, you can manually adjust the horizontal louvers on the front of the unit. To disable the oscillation feature (which can be done while the vertical louvers are at any position along the 80 degree arc), just press the swing button again.9TIMERWhile the unit is on, press this button to enable the auto-shutoff feature. Keep pressing the button to cycle through the timer options, 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours. Once the selected time has completed, the unit will shut off. EVAPORATIVE COOLINGWhile the unit is on, press this button to enable evaporative cooling. Please note that in order for evaporative cooling to work, the water tank must be filled in between the min and max fill lines. Remove the tank from the back of the unit and replace it once the water has been filled. Pressing this button will turn on the water pump, which will run water through the cooling pad on the back of the unit, cooling the air coming into the unit, and thus cooling the air coming out of the front of the unit.To make the air even colder, drop the included ice packs into the water tank. Do not break open or modify ice packs in any way.The water pump will automatically shut off after 10 hours of operation. To disable the evaporative cooling feature (and return to fan-only mode), just press the evaporative cooling button again.MODEWhile the unit is on, it will be in normal mode by default. Press this button again to switch to nature mode, a second time to switch to sleep mode, and a third time to switch back to normal mode. In normal mode, the fan operates at a fixed speed set by the user with the fan speed button (see below). Nature mode: The unit operates normally, except fan speed automatically cycles between the three settings; low, medium and high. This mode is meant to replicate a shifting natural breeze.10Sleep mode: The unit will run for 30 minutes at whatever fan speed was set by the user before changing to sleep mode, then gradually decrease fan speed. If set at high speed, the unit will stay at high speed for 30 minutes, then medium for 30 minutes, then low until the unit is manually shut off.If set at medium speed, the unit will stay at medium speed for 30 minutes, then low until the unit is manually shut off. Setting the unit at low fan speed then switching to sleep mode will cause no change—the unit will simply stay at low fan speed until a change is made.SPEEDWhile the unit is on, press this button to change the fan speed. The unit defaults to low fan speed when you first turn it on, but pressing it once will change the speed to medium, and pressing it a second time will change the speed to high. Pressing it a third time will change the speed back to low. This unit comes equipped with a drying cycle, to help dry out the cooling pad. PROGRAMMING AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONSCRC-8A, CRC-6A, CRC-4AThe CRC-A Controller has some important features you should be aware of before you begin pro-gramming. Details on how to implement these features will be described in the step-by-step instruc-tions on the following pages.• The CRC-A has a DUAL PROGRAM capability which allows watering of grass areas more often and/or on different days than shrub areas.• The CRC-A has a PRESET PROGRAM which is built into the controller at the factory. If you do not wish to establish your own program, after updating the clock, the controller will operate each station for 10 minutes each day beginning at 8 A.M.• The CRC-A has a DEFAULT MODE in which the controller will revert back to the PRESET PRO-GRAM should your own program be lost due to a prolonged power failure.• The CRC-A has a 14 - day cycle. After completing watering on the 14th day, it will automatically repeat the cycle beginning with day 1.• The controller has a backup battery circuit which will keep your program from being lost for up to24 hours in the event of a power failure. Should the battery you supply go dead the entire dis-play will blink to indicate the need for a new battery. To do this,Tidbits and Items to remember:The nine-volt, alkaline battery you supply will protect the program memory for up to 24hours during a power outage. Without a battery, even a momentary power interruption (fractions of a second) will cause memory loss. Studies have shown that such momen-tary power interruptions happen many times per day in the average household. Re-member to install a nine-volt alkaline battery to the battery clip (in the bottom compart-ment of the controller cabinet) as noted in the installation instructions for this unit.In the event of a long power outage completely using up your battery's power, the de-fault program will be in effect when power resumes. This default program will automat-ically operate a special "A" program only, and water every station of the controlleronce a day for 10 minutes each. (See the DEFAULT PROGRAM section at the back of this manual for details.)In item #2 of this manual "What time to start..." you learned how to set, how to change, and how to add starting times for your CRC-A controller to begin a cycle. If you wish to ELIMINATE A START TIME from a program, the procedure is quite simple. First, press the "Program A" or "Program B" key so the controller knows which program you desire to change. Then press the "Water Times Per Day" key one, two, or three times until the start time you wish to eliminate appears in the display. Now press either the "Change Time" up or "Change Time" down key until the time in the display reaches the blank point at midnight. DRD11A Rain DetectorFeatures/Benefits ▪Fast and accurate precipitation detection (ON/OFF)▪Rain intensity measurement with processing unit ▪Maintenance free ▪Heating element for keeping sensor free of snow and condensed moisture, and for quick dryingRain and snow are quickly and accurately detected with the DRD11A Rain Detector. The DRD11A operates via droplet detection rather than by signal level threshold.A special delay circuitry allows about two-minute interval between raindrops before assuming an OFF (no rain) position. This enables the sensor to accurately distinguish between rain cessation and light rain. The DRD11A also features ananalog Rain Signal for estimating rain intensity. Since this signal is proportional to the percentage of moist or wet area on the sensor plate, rain intensity has a direct impact on the amplitude andvariation of this analog signal. The DRD11A sensor is positioned at a 30° angle. This design, together with the internal heating element, ensures that the surface dries quickly, an essential factor in calculating intensity. The sameheating element also protects thesurface from fog and condensed moisture, and is activated at low temperatures in order to melt snow, thus allowing snow detection. Sensor performance is not affected by reasonable amounts of dirt and dust due todroplet detection. The DRD11L is a low heating power model of the DRD11A. It is intended to be used in areas with only rain or wet/moist snow precipitation.Vaisala DRD11A Rain DetectorTechnical DataRef.
