本课时的阅读文本是一篇书面广告，内容为Mr. Cool 的服装店里的大减价活动。
在阅读书面广告的过程中，学生不仅能够掌握物品价格的描述和基础的广告用语，还能够领略到广告的文体特色，为下一课时的广告写作而铺垫。
读后环节，让学生对于如何制作一个好的广告有了很清楚的认知，也同时让学生通过角色扮演对话来处于购物的情景之中，体验语言的实用性，提高了情景交际的能力，激发了文本的语用功能。
最后，通过课堂提问来引发学生思考理性消费，树立正确的消费观。
