Unit1 Is this your mum?

Class type: Listening and speaking.

Teaching Objectives:

I. Language objectives:

1. Key vocabulary : father, mother, husband, wife, who, those , etc.

2. How to express their right position in the photo.

Teaching procedures:

Step1. Warming- up

1.Watch two pieces of videos: a)come and see my family.

b) the meaning of a family.

Tell students we should love our family.

2.Show a photo of Kimi’s family, introduce the family members to students,

with sentence structures: This /That is…

Then show a photo of my family,introduce it and teach students some new

words and expressions.

StepII. Listening 1. Pre-listening.

Show a photo of Tony’s family and introduce all his family members to students.

2. While-listening.

①Listen and answer the questions:

Is Linda Tony’s sister?

Who is Tony’s uncle?

Are Helen and Mike Tony’s cousins?

②Listen again and complete the sentences with missing words.

Tony has a big family. In the photo his mum’s parents are _____ and his

dad’s parents are_____. The woman_____ his mum is his aunt Liz. Mike and

Helen are Tony’s cousins and they’re _____Paul.

3. Post-listening.

Speaking1: Talk about Tony’s family.

Speaking2: Every student takes a photo of his/her family, ask and talk about it
