我的家乡Myhometown英语演讲(五篇)我的家乡My hometown英语演讲 1Hello everyone,It’s my honor to have a speech here.We all know that autumn is a harvest season; it brings us achievements and celebrations. But this year is quite different. We are ing the 60th birthday of our nation! What proves the growth of our country? What proves that our country is ing stronger and stronger?Of course, the changes, the avhievements. Now we can touch the pulse of the social progress, the changes of clothing, food, the living conditions and so on.Once my grandma said that in the planned economy, everything has its own certificate,“New Dress” is only a desire and many children could only expect new clothes on Chinese New Year. When my grandmother put on new clothes on New Year’s Day,she would be quite satisfied and proud, because many children would e to appreciate it.At that time, new clothesare rare for mon people.Sixty years ago,it’s quite usual that a big family crowded in a small room. They put up a curtain separating the house into two parts, and sometimes there might be some mice.My grandma said they played only seated in bed and several children did their homework on a small table. But now, good conditions, most families not only have a nice house with a lot of furniture, but also have more than one house.Great changes have taken place gradually around us,especially after The Reform and Opening up.History tells us and tells future,DengXiaoping’ construction was right. In 2001,our country joined the WTO.Then we launched the Shenzhou V,VI,VII and Chang’e spaceship into space, and held the Beijing Olympics. We still remember the yesterday of last year, when the big earthquake happened, the whole nation was shocked and moved. Not only volunteers but everyone was devoted to help people in need.Today we see a new look of Sichuan people, the energy and hope of Sichuan people. What a beautiful day!As students,we are enjoying the benefits of the progress of our country. Now we are studying in a garden school which has experienced one hundred years of unusual history.Look, thebright classrooms, the tall buildings, the green trees and these energetic students! We should work hard, for our future, for our school and for our nation. And I’m sure that a better life and a harmonious society are around the corner.Have you seen them?第二篇:Green-colored sunshine shining though soft leaves, all the gre en days in the growth rings’ telling legend to the future and the past. These green hopes in the Olympic rings are just like warm hugs and brilliant haloes under the blue sky of Beijing. As the 29th Olympic Game which is held in Beijing is ing up soon, every citizen in our city is a messenger of green Olympic, we love our city and care more and more about our environment. In those lovely smiling face, I’m touched dee__ for all the efforts we make.I can see the grassland is greener; the blue sky is beautiful and clean, and every little tree is growing happily in warm and gentle breeze. This is my hometown, this is beautiful Beijing, and there place the Green Olympic hopes on.Thinking about a few years ago, when I saw the taxonomic dustbin in our munity for the first time, the Green Olympic made no difference in my mind. I just regarded it as an interesting wayto sort garbage. But when a few days later I raised my hands high up and was eager to be a member of “the Communist Youth League’s EPD group", I told myself firmly, "It’s a great way to make contribution to the 2008’s Beijing." Maybe this is why I have that much passion on this great action. In the following months, we have activities such as picking up all the plastic things which are surrounded our school together with our teacher. We were all very excited about this meaningful thing. We also set up special dustbins for used batteries, so that we can both pollute less and recycle more. When seeing all the plastics and the batteries were carried on the truck which was going to the recycle factory to handle these things, we were all very happy about it. Everyone forgot all the hardness. To let the dream of" Green Beijing" e true, all of us should give a hand. "I’ve do something great for you Beijing," What a great sentence! And at the same time, the actions of protecting the environment are going on, too. My father changed all the taps in my family into saving-water ones, and all the water we use are recycled for at least 2 or 3 times. I always can hear this ad on CRI, it says, "5 million children died each year, just for the drinking water." So, help us to make the world safer. Although my actionsare rather small, but I think with all of you guys help, there will be a strong power. The color green gives the Olympic Game a deeper meaning, green is in flowers, grasslands and in trees; Green is in the sky, in the earth and in the sunshine. But to my opinion, green’s also in our minds, in our smiles and in the great love.Once in an activity which was to plant trees for the munity, every planter got a card to hang out on the tree with writing a few meaningful words. Do you know I have written what? That is: "Happy growing!""Happy growing!" To every little tree in our green dreams."Happy growing!" To The changing Beijing!"Happy growing!" To The green Olympics bud in every citizen’s heart! It’ll turn out sweet 3 years later in 2008!我的家乡My hometown英语演讲 2Beijing is not only the city where I was born, but also the only place I've never been able to leave. 5 years ago, I moved from here to another city to begin my college life. The day I left beijing I felt as a fish out of water.beijing is the only place where I've walked past a schoolyard and pictured a future son or daughter of mine playing balls.I love this city. She’s small and quiet. Every day I live here, I could have the safety feeling which I got when my mother held me in her arms.I love this city. She is very beautiful and lovely. Everywhere you can see the flowers, grass and trees. The shops are full of all kinds of goods. When you walk in the street, you can feel the gentle wind touching your face and breathe the fresh air.I love this city. The climate here is very warm which is very suitable for people to do some outdoors activities.I love this city. She is where I have lived for fifteen years with my parents, my good friends, and my teachers who have supported me. She has almost all my memories.I love the night of beijing. People sit in the gardens of their houses or in the small restaurants, chatting, drinking and enjoying the delicious seafood which is abundant in our city.I love the sunrise of beijing. When I was still a little girl, my parents and I used to climb up the hill in the morning to see the sunrise. When the beautiful sun went up, the gentle breeze brought us the fragrance of the flowers, the golden sunshine made our hair shimmer, and my heart would be filled with hope and happiness!Maybe someday I will have to leave this city, but no matter where I would go I will never forget this city, its people, its trees and its sunrise. Yes, everything that it gave me could be given by other places, but my love won’t be changed, because it is my home town.我的家乡My hometown英语演讲 3My hometown of Changsha, the provincial capital of Hunan Province. In thoselovely smiling face, I’m touched dee__ for all the efforts we make.I can see the grassland is greener; the blue sky is beautiful and clean, and every little tree is growing happily in warm and gentle breeze. This is my hometown, this is beautiful Beijing, and there place the Green Olympic hopes on.Thinking about a few years ago, when I saw the taxonomic dustbin in our munity for the first time, the Green Olympic made no difference in my mind. I just regarded it as an interesting way to sort garbage. But when a few days later I raised my hands high up and was eager to be a member of "the Communist Youth League’s EPD group", I told myself firmly, "It’s a great way to make contribution to the 2008’s Beijing." Maybe th is is why I have that much passion on this great action. Although my actions are rather small, but I think with all of you guys help, there will be a strong power. That is: "Happy growing!""Happy growing!" To every little tree in our green dreams."Happy growing!" To The changing Beijing!"Happy growing!" To The green Olympics bud in everycitizen’s heart! It’ll turn out sweet 3 years later in 2008!。

I am proud of being a Chinese with five thousand years of civilization behind. I've learned about the four great inventions made by our forefathers. I've learned about the Great Wall and the Yangtze River. I've learned about Zhang Heng(张衡)and I've learned about Zheng He(郑和).Who says the Yellow River Civilization has vanished(消失)?I know that my ancestors have made miracles(奇迹)on this fertile land and we're still making miracles. Who can ignore the fact that we have established ourselves as a great state in the world, that we have devised our own nuclear weapons, that we have successfully sent our satellites into space, and that our GNP ranks No. 7 in the world? We have experienced the plunders (掠夺) by other nations, and we have experienced the war. Yet, based on such ruins, there still stands our nation__China, unyielding and unconquerable!I once came across an American tourist. She said, “China has a history of five thousand years, but the US only has a history of 200 years. Five thousand years ago, China took the lead in the world, and now it is the US that is leading.” My heart was deeply touched by these words. It is true that we're still a developing nation, but it doesn't mean that we candespise (鄙视) ourselves. We have such a long-standing history, we have such abundant resources, we have such intelligent and diligent people, and we have enough to be proud of. We have reasons to say proudly:we are sure to take the lead in the world in the future again, for our problems are big, but our ambition (雄心) is even bigger, our challenges (挑战) are great, but our will is even greater.I am Chinese. I have inherited (继承) black hair and black eyes. I have inherited the virtues of my ancestors. I have also taken over responsibility. I am sure, that wherever I go, whatever I do, I shall never forget that I am Chinese! Thank you.。
初中英语满分作文我的家乡全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My HometownHi there! My name is Emily, and I'm a 10-year-old girl from a small town called Riverdale. Today, I want to tell you all about my wonderful hometown. Get ready for an exciting adventure!Riverdale is a charming little town nestled in the heart of a lush green valley, surrounded by rolling hills and majestic mountains. The town's name comes from the beautiful River Creek that winds its way through the center, sparkling like a diamond under the warm sunshine. One of the things I love most about Riverdale is the fresh air. Unlike in big cities, the air here is so clean and crisp, and you can smell the sweet scent of wildflowers and pine trees. It's like taking a deep breath of nature's own perfume!Speaking of nature, Riverdale is a nature lover's dream! We have so many parks and hiking trails where you can explore the great outdoors. My favorite spot is the Redwood Grove, wheretowering redwood trees stretch up towards the sky like giant guardians of the forest. I love to climb on the fallen logs and listen to the birds singing their cheerful melodies.Another awesome place in Riverdale is the Old Town Square. It's like stepping back in time to the Wild West! The square is lined with charming little shops and cafes, each one more quaint and inviting than the last. On weekends, there's often a farmer's market where you can buy fresh fruits, veggies, and homemade goodies from local farmers and bakers. One of the highlights of living in Riverdale is the annual Harvest Festival. It's a big celebration that happens every fall, and the entire town comes together for a day of fun and festivities. There are carnival rides, games, live music, and of course, lots and lots of delicious food! My favorite part is the pie-eating contest. One year, I even won third place for eating the most cherry pie! Yum!But Riverdale isn't just about nature and festivals – it's also a great place to learn and grow. Our schools are top-notch, with dedicated teachers and plenty of opportunities for kids like me to explore our interests. I'm particularly interested in science, and our school has an amazing science lab where we get to do all sorts of cool experiments. One of my favorite memories from school was when we raised butterflies from caterpillars. It was so amazing to watch them transform from tiny, fuzzy creatures into beautiful winged insects. We even got to release them into the school garden when they were ready to fly away.Speaking of the school garden, that's another thing I love about Riverdale. We have a strong focus on sustainability and taking care of the environment. In addition to the school garden, there are community gardens all over town where people can grow their own fruits and veggies. It's so cool to see everyone working together to make our town greener and healthier.Another quirky thing about Riverdale is our obsession with the local high school football team, the Riverdale Raptors. On game nights, the entire town turns out to cheer them on, decked out in our green and gold colors. Even though I'm still a few years away from high school, I can't wait to join the Raptors spirit squad and lead the chants from the sidelines. But perhaps the best thing about Riverdale is the sense of community. Everyone knows everyone here, and we all look out for each other like one big family. Whether it's helping a neighbor with yard work, volunteering at the local soup kitchen,or just stopping to chat and catch up on the latest news, there's a warm, welcoming spirit that makes Riverdale feel like home.I could go on and on about all the things that make my hometown special, but I think you get the idea. Riverdale may be a small town, but it's a place with a big heart, full of natural beauty, rich history, and wonderful people. I feel so lucky to call this charming little corner of the world my home.Who knows, maybe one day you'll get the chance to visit Riverdale yourself! Until then, I'll be here, exploring the hiking trails, cheering on the Raptors, and making the most of every moment in this amazing place I call home.篇2My HometownI live in a small town called Riverside. It's not a very big place, but I really like it here. Riverside is right next to a pretty river that winds through the middle of town. I can see the river from my bedroom window! There aren't any tall buildings or busy highways in Riverside. Instead we have lots of small houses and gardens and parks. My favorite park is by the river. It has a playground with swings andmonkey bars. There's also a swimming pool that's open in the summer. I love going swimming with my friends when it's hot out.Downtown Riverside is really nice too. It has a main street with little shops and restaurants. My favorite store is the bookstore because they have a whole section just for kids' books.I also like going to the ice cream parlor after school and getting a big banana split sundae. It's so yummy!Even though Riverside is small, we have a lot of fun events and activities. Every summer there is a big fair with rides, games, and cotton candy. For Halloween, the downtown merchants all decorate their stores and hand out candy. And at Christmas time, there are lights and decorations everywhere. My family always goes downtown to see the big Christmas tree ceremony. One of the best things about my hometown is how friendly everyone is. All the shopkeepers know my name and people always wave and say hello when I'm walking down the street. I've lived in Riverside my whole life and I know just about everybody! My school is also great. Riverside Elementary only has about 300 students, so all the teachers know us really well. My favorite teacher is Mrs. Anderson who teaches 4th grade. She's really niceand always makes learning fun with games and projects. Sometimes we even get to go on walking field trips around town.I feel very lucky to live in Riverside. We might be a small town, but we have a wonderful community. I get to grow up feeling safe and surrounded by people who care about me. I can play outside without my parents worrying. I can walk or ride my bike just about anywhere I need to go. Riverside really is the perfect place for a kid.The other downside is that Riverside doesn't have many job opportunities. Most people have to commute pretty far away to the nearest city for work. My dad drives almost an hour each way to his office downtown. And there aren't a ton of restaurants or stores to work at as a teenager like in bigger towns. But those are pretty minor complaints in my opinion! All in all, I'm really happy I get to grow up in Riverside. I feel so safe and fortunate to be surrounded by such a caring community. Even though it's small, we have so many fun traditions and events. And the natural beauty here is just wonderful between the river, parks, and gardens everywhere you look. Riverside will always have a special place in my heart as the perfect little hometown.I know as I get older, I'll probably get restless like my siblings and want to explore somewhere new and more exciting for a while. But no matter where I go, I know I'll always come back to Riverside. To me, this town will always be home. And I can't imagine a better place to have a happy childhood.篇3My HometownHey there! I'm so excited to tell you all about my amazing hometown. It's a place that holds a special place in my heart, and I can't wait to share its wonders with you.Let me start by introducing you to the charming little town of Oakville. It's a cozy little place nestled in the heart of a lush green valley, surrounded by rolling hills and meandering streams. The fresh country air is like a sweet perfume that greets you with every breath you take. One of the things I love most about Oakville is the sense of community. Everyone knows everyone, and it's like having one big, happy family. We have block parties, potluck dinners, and even an annual town fair where we all come together to celebrate our tight-knit bond. But let me tell you about the real star of the show – Main Street! It's like a time capsule preserved from a bygone era. The old-fashioned storefronts and quaint shops make you feel like you've stepped back into the 1950s. My favorite spot is definitely Mrs. Miller's Bakery. The aroma of freshly baked pies and cookies wafting through the air is simply heavenly!Speaking of heavenly, you should see our town park! It's a lush green oasis right in the heart of Oakville. There's a beautiful gazebo where local musicians often perform, and a sparkling pond where you can feed the friendly ducks. On warm summer days, my friends and I love to have picnics under the shade of the towering oak trees. But Oakville isn't just about the sights and sounds – it's also steeped in history. Did you know that our town played a pivotal role during the Revolutionary War? There's even a museum dedicated to preserving the stories and artifacts from that era. I love exploring the exhibits and imagining what life was like back then. And let's not forget about our local hangout spot – The Soda Shoppe. It's a classic diner with checkered floors, red vinyl booths, and the best milkshakes you've ever tasted. My friendsand I love to hang out there after school and swap stories over a tall glass of chocolate goodness. But perhaps the most magical part of Oakville is the sense of wonder and adventure it instills in me. Just beyond the town limits, there's a vast expanse of untamed wilderness – pristine forests, babbling brooks, and secret glades just waiting to be explored. My friends and I love to pack a lunch and go on hiking adventures, discovering new wonders around every bend.As the sun sets over Oakville, casting a warm golden glow over the quaint houses and picket fences, I can't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude. This little town has shaped me in so many ways, instilling values of community, kindness, and appreciation for the simple joys in life. So, there you have it – a glimpse into my wonderful hometown of Oakville. It may be a small place, but it's overflowing with charm, character, and memories that will stay with me forever. Who knows, maybe you'll even pay us a visit one day and experience the magic for yourself!篇4My HometownHey there! My name is Sam, and I'm here to tell you all about my awesome hometown. Buckle up because this is going to be one wild ride!I live in a place called Riverdale, a small but vibrant town nestled in the heart of a lush valley. It's like a little slice of paradise, surrounded by towering mountains that seem to touch the sky. During the summer, the mountains are blanketed in a rich emerald green, while in the winter, they're capped with glistening white snow that sparkles like a million tiny diamonds. One of the coolest things about Riverdale is the river that cuts right through the center of town. It's called the Crystal River because the water is so clear and pristine that you can see all the way to the bottom. In the summertime, my friends and I love to go swimming in the river. The water is always refreshingly cool, and we spend hours splashing around, having swimming races, and trying to catch the little fish that dart about.Speaking of fish, Riverdale is famous for its incredible fishing spots. My dad loves to take me fishing at one of the many lakes or streams in the area. He taught me how to bait a hook and cast a line, and I've caught some real whoppers over the years. There's nothing quite like the thrill of feeling a tug on the line and reeling in a feisty trout or bass. After a successful day offishing, we'll cook up our catch over an open fire and enjoy a delicious meal together in the great outdoors. But Riverdale isn't just about nature and outdoor adventures. Our town has a rich history and culture that's celebrated throughout the year. One of my favorite events is the annual Harvest Festival, where the whole community comes together to celebrate the bounty of the fall harvest. There are all sorts of fun activities like hayrides, pumpkin carving contests, and a massive farmer's market where you can buy fresh produce, homemade jams and preserves, and all kinds of tasty treats.Another highlight of the year is the Riverdale Arts and Crafts Fair. It's an amazing showcase of talent, featuring local artists, sculptors, potters, and craftspeople. You can find everything from intricate wood carvings and stunning paintings to handmade jewelry and pottery. My mom is a talented painter, and she always has a booth at the fair where she displays and sells her beautiful artwork. But you know what I love most about Riverdale? It's the sense of community and togetherness. Everyone knows everyone here, and we all look out for each other like one big family. Whether it's helping a neighbor with yard work, volunteering at the local soup kitchen, or cheering on our littleleague teams, Riverdale is a place where people come together and support one another.I feel so lucky to have grown up in such an amazing place, surrounded by natural beauty, rich culture, and incredible people. Riverdale will always hold a special place in my heart, and I can't wait to see what other adventures and memories await me in this wonderful little town I call home.篇5My Wonderful HometownHi there! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. I was born and raised in the most amazing place on Earth - a small town called Riverdale. Let me tell you all about the place I'm lucky enough to call home.Riverdale is located right along the banks of the Emerald River. The river winds its way through the middle of town, sparkling emerald green in the sunlight. On hot summer days, my friends and I love swimming and splashing around in the cool, refreshing waters. We have diving competitions off the old wooden dock to see who can make the biggest splash! As you walk along Main Street in downtown Riverdale, the first thing you'll notice is all the beautiful flower boxes overflowing with colorful blooms. The ladies from the garden club take great pride in making sure the flowers are always looking perfect. The bright pinks, yellows, purples, and reds make the whole street seem cheerful and inviting. One of my favorite places in town is the Sweet Treats Bakery. The amazing smells wafting out from the bakery are absolutely mouthwatering - freshly baked breads, warm cinnamon rolls, gooey chocolate chip cookies, and more. I window shop along the bakery's big glass windows, my nose pressed against the glass as I admire the delectable treats. For my birthday each year, my parents buy me a special cake decorated just how I want from Sweet Treats.Just down the street from the bakery is Parker's Pumpkin Patch, where every fall families come from miles around to pick their Halloween pumpkins. It's such a fun experience to wander through the huge pumpkin fields, searching for that perfect plump pumpkin to carve into a jolly jack-o-lantern. At the end, we all drink hot apple cider and go on a tractor ride around the patch.Speaking of farms, we have lots of them surrounding Riverdale full of cows, pigs, chickens and more farm animals. My friend Emily's family has a dairy farm, and I love visiting to watch the farmers milk the cows and gather the fresh eggs. The baby calves and chicks are just about the cutest things ever! I love the peaceful atmosphere out in the countryside with its rolling green hills, old red barns, and wide open spaces. For the fourth of July holiday, the whole town comes together for a big celebration in Riverdale Park. There's a parade first thing in the morning with marching bands, decorated floats, guys on horses doing cool trick riding, and a bunch of people dressed up in colorful costumes. After the parade, we have fireworks shows, games, music, and delicious BBQ food. I stuff myself full of hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad and ice cream! We watch the fireworks show cuddled up on blankets when it gets dark, the bright bursts of light exploding over the park. It's always such a special night. In the wintertime, the big hill in the park becomes the perfect spot for sledding after it snows. Everyone brings their plastic sleds, toboggan or even just a trash bag to slide down the slopes. We have epic snowball fights too, diving behind snow forts until our hands are numb from the cold. Then we'll go warmup inside Marty's Diner with hot chocolates piled high with whipped cream and marshmallows. There's a fun little holiday tradition we do every year on the day before Christmas called "Rolling Through the Town." A bunch of people decorate their bikes or golf carts with lights and tinsel, and we slowly drive through every neighborhood waving at people. Kids run out to the street in their pajamas hoping to snag some of the candy canes we toss out the window. It's a neat way to spread some cheer before the big day! Then we have Crazy Cat Lady Caroline, who might literally be a crazy cat lady. I'm not kidding - she has like 30 cats that she dotes on and treats like children. Caroline walks up and down the street every morning pulling a little red wagon filled with her feline friends. She'll stop to introduce you to each one by name. I'll admit it's a bit odd, but Caroline seems happy so we just let her do her cat-walking thing.Riverdale may be a small town, but it's bursting with personality, character, and good old-fashioned community spirit.I feel so fortunate to grow up in a place where everybody knows your name, doors are left unlocked, and neighbors are willing to lend a hand whenever you need it. The 4th of July parade, Christmas traditions, farm activities, and people like Crazy CatLady Caroline make this place special andunique. Wherever I go in life, a part of me will always be that small-town kid from Riverdale. It's home, and I wouldn't篇6My HometownHey there! I'm so excited to share with you all about my awesome hometown. It's a place that holds a special place in my heart, and I'm pretty sure you'll love it too once I'm done telling you about it.First things first, let me give you a little background. My hometown is a cozy little place called Riverdale, nestled in the heart of a picturesque valley surrounded by rolling hills and winding rivers. It's like something straight out of a storybook, with its quaint streets lined with charming little houses and friendly neighbors who always have a smile and a wave to offer. One of the coolest things about Riverdale is its rich history. Did you know that our town was founded way back in the 1800s by a group of intrepid pioneers? They braved treacherous mountain passes and harsh wilderness to settle in this gorgeous valley, and their legacy lives on in the town's architecture and traditions.Speaking of architecture, you've got to check out Main Street. It's like stepping back in time, with its old-fashioned storefronts and brick buildings that have been standing for over a century. My favorite spot is the old-timey soda fountain, where they serve up the most incredible milkshakes and sundaes you've ever tasted. Seriously, it's like a sugar coma in a glass, but in the best possible way!But Riverdale isn't just about its past; it's also a vibrant, modern community. We've got all sorts of cool shops, restaurants, and hangout spots that cater to every interest. Whether you're into sports, music, art, or just chilling with friends, there's always something fun going on.One of my favorite annual events is the Riverdale Harvest Festival. Every fall, the whole town comes together for a massive celebration of our agricultural heritage. There are hayrides, pumpkin carving contests, pie-eating competitions (my personal specialty), and a massive parade where the local farmers show off their prize-winning livestock and produce. It's an absolute blast, and the whole town gets decked out in festive decorations and fall colors. One of my favorite spots is Silver Creek, a crystal-clear stream that winds its way through the heart of town. In thesummertime, you can find me and my friends cooling off in its refreshing waters or building epic dams and forts along the banks. It's like our own personal nature playground, and it's just a stone's throw away from my house. But Riverdale isn't just a pretty face; it's also a tight-knit community where everyone looks out for one another. My neighbors are like extended family, always there to lend a helping hand or share a home-cooked meal. We take pride in our town and work hard to keep it a safe, welcoming place for everyone who calls it home.I could go on and on about all the things that make Riverdale so special, but I think you get the idea. It's a place where small-town charm meets big-time adventures, where history and tradition blend seamlessly with modern amenities and progress. So, if you ever find yourself in our neck of the woods, be sure to swing by Riverdale. I'll be happy to show you around and introduce you to all the quirky characters and hidden gems that make our little town so unforgettable. Who knows, you might just decide to stick around and become a Riverdaler yourself!。

中学生英语演讲稿:我的家乡
my hometown is lhasa, the largest city on the roof of the world. it is the heart and soul of tibet. i think
lhasa is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
it is surrounded by towering mountains and rarely a day goes by when you don" t see the deep blue sky. lhasa
river is flowing quietly around the city.
lhasa is the mixture of tradition and fashion.
firstly, lhasa has a long history. it is the
political, cultural and economic center of tibet. it has lots of famous sights to offer. the potala palace is the most famous, a magnificent and wonderful place to look at. in my opinion it is a unique artistic achievement of the tibetan people. likewise, the architecture, carvings and paintings throughout the city show hard work, wisdom and bravery of our people.
secondly, led by the reforming and opening policy of china, lhasa has changed a lot. many new things have arrived up here, changing the face of the city. the old and new lie side by side in lhasa.
many new buildings, schools and roads have been built here. furthermore, the qing-zang railway leading to lhasa is being built. many shopping centers have been opened, and modern technology like telemunications is spreading. the whole city looks prosperous, and our tibetan people take on a new look. every festival, people walk around freely on the new, wide and smooth streets, wearing the beautiful traditional costumes.
right now, i am looking forward to a festival called shodün which es in june for eating yoghurt. at this time, all my family and i gather for a picnic together at the norbulinka, a famous garden. in the garden, we sing tibetan songs, dance “guo zhuang” on the grass; eat zanba, drink butter tea and barley beer on the beautiful carpet as well. we enjoy our life. i think that this festival exhibits the open-minded and optimistic character of the tibetan people.
finally, “i love my hometown. i love the people in my hometown.”.
thank you.。
