Teaching Process
Step1 Show the objectives of this class
It aims to make students confirm the tasks of this class.
Step 2 Warming up
Let students enjoy some pictures of Singapore, and then let them guess what
country it is. It aims to attract students’ attention, to make them prepare for this
class and futher to lead into the topic-- Singapore.
Step 3 Enjoy a video
Let students enjoy a video of Singapore and then ask them a question—What
do you think of Singapore. The video aims to stimulate students’ interest in
learning English and the question is to make students get into a habit of thinking
after enjoy a video.
Step 4 Pre-reading (Discussing)
Let students discuss the question –what do you want to know abouth
Singapore if you can travel there and then let them try to finish the mind map. It
aims to activate students’ thinking, reduce the reading difficulty and pave the way
for the rest studying.

Step 5 While reading
a. Read the article and find out the main idea of the whole passage and of
each paragraph. It aims to train students’ ability of catching the topic
sentences and the main idea of the text, and enable students to explore the
textual structure.
