广东专插本英语历年英语作文真题My Big Sister and the Zhaunkou ExamHi there! My name is Xiaoming and I'm 8 years old. I'm in 3rd grade at Sunshine Elementary School in Guangzhou. I love playing basketball, reading comic books, and eating my mom's delicious dumplings. But today I want to tell you about my big sister Meimei and how she studied really hard for the zhaunkou exam last year.Meimei is 22 years old and just finished her three-year program at Guangdong Technical College. The zhaunkou is a special exam that lets students from 3-year career colleges get admission into the last 2 years of a 4-year university bachelor's degree program. It's a big deal because a bachelor's degree opens up way more job opportunities. But the zhaunkou exam is super hard, especially the English part. For months, Meimei was staying up late every night, her desk piled high with textbooks, practice test papers, and tons of xiaohuoban (little yellow practice books). She made these crazy long vocabulary lists of all the big English words she needed to know. Our whole family would quiz her on the words at dinner -it was like a weird new tradition! Meimei also wrote practice essay after practice essay for the dreaded English writing section. One time, I snuck a peek at one of her practice essays. The topic was "If you could change one thing about your hometown, what would it be?" Meimei wrote all about how she would add more bike lanes and parks in Guangzhou to make it greener and more pedestrian-friendly. Her essay was so long and had such big vocabulary words - I could barely understand it! When I asked her what "urbanization" and "sustainable" meant, she just ruffled my hair and told me I'd learn when I was older. In the weeks before the big test day, Meimei was extremely stressed out. She would pace around the apartment mumbling English phrases under her breath. Sometimes she would randomly shout out "Arghhh, I don't know the past participle of that verb!" Mom, Dad and I didn't have a clue what she was talking about, but we made sure to stay out of her way. Finally, test day arrived. Meimei double and triple checked that she had enough pencils, her ID card, a watch, and a small snack packed in her bag. We all gave her a big hug before she headed out the door. Dad joked, "Don't worry, as long as you didn't forget how to say 'hello' in English, you'll be fine!" Meimei just rolled her eyes at him. After what felt like an eternity, Meimei finally came home later that evening. She looked exhausted but had a little smile on her face. "How was it?!" we all asked. She said the listening section was pretty tough, but she felt okay about the reading comprehension passages. The essay ended up being about some environmental issue, which was perfect since she had practiced writing so many essays about things like air pollution andeco-tourism.Then a few weeks later, Meimei got her test results in the mail. She had passed We були собі такий радий для неї! She officially got admitted into the final 2 years of the English major program at the big university downtown. No more would she have to stay up until midnight cramming English words and grammar rules! After all her hard work, Meimei totally deserved to take it easy for a while. Although I still sometimes hear her randomly shouting out "What's the past perfect continuous tense??" when she's cooking or cleaning. Old habits die hard I guess!Anyways, that's the story of how my amazing big sis Meimei conquered the super difficult zhaunkou English exam. I'm so proud of her determination and I know she's going to become an excellent English teacher someday. As for me, I'm just startingto learn simple English words like "apple" and "baseball" in school. Mastering all those crazy grammar things still seems lightyears away! But Meimei's example taught me that with enough hard work and perseverance, nothing is impossible. Well, I better get going now - I hear Mom calling us in for dumplings!。

广东专插本英语历年英语作文真题My Thoughts on English EssaysHello friends! My name is Xiaoming and I am a student in 5th grade. Today I want to share my thoughts about the English essay questions from past years' Guangdong zhuan kou ben exams. I really enjoy learning English and practicing my writing skills.First of all, I think the essay topics are quite interesting! Last year, one of the prompts asked students to discuss their favorite holiday and explain why it is meaningful to them. For that question, I would write about Chinese New Year. I love Chinese New Year because it is a special time when my whole family gets together. We have a huge feast with all my favorite dishes like dumplings, noodles, and sweet rice balls. After dinner, my cousins and I get lovely red envelopes filled with money from the adults. We also watch the New Year's Gala show on TV together. The best part is that we get two whole weeks off from school to celebrate! I look forward to Chinese New Year every year.Another essay prompt from a few years ago asked students to describe their favorite teacher and explain what makes that teacher so special. My favorite teacher is Mr. Wang, my Englishteacher. He always makes classes fun by having us play games and sing songs in English. He is also very kind and patient. Whenever I am struggling with a concept, he takes the time to work with me one-on-one until I understand. He encourages all of us students and praises our efforts, no matter how small. Thanks to his engaging lessons and supportive teaching style, I have grown much more confident in my English abilities. I think having a teacher you admire can really inspire you to work harder.Yet another past essay topic invited students to discuss a skill or ability they would like to develop in the future. For this one, I would write about my dream of becoming a talented artist one day. Even though I am just a young kid now, I have always loved drawing, painting, and crafting. I find the process of creating art to be incredibly rewarding and relaxing. My ultimate goal is to become skilledl enough to have my artwork displayed in a gallery or museum. I would love for people from all around the world to be able to appreciate my creations. Of course, becoming a professional artist requires years of practice, training, and dedication. However, I am willing to put in the effort because making art brings me so much joy and satisfaction. I plan to take as many art classes as I can and constantly work to improve my techniques. As you can see, the Guangdong zhuan kou ben English essay topics allow students to write about aspects of their personal lives and experiences. We get to share our perspectives, hopes and dreams through our writing. In my opinion, that is one of the best ways to practice English - by writing about subjects that are meaningful and relevant to us as individuals. The essay portion of the exam also tests our abilities to develop and organize coherent, well-structured pieces of writing that express our thoughts clearly. We must be able to state our main ideas, provide supporting details and examples, and arrange everything in a logical order. These are crucial skills to master, not just for excelling at English exams, but for effective communication in general. One piece of advice I would give to other students preparing for the zhuan kou ben English essays is: write practice essays regularly! The more we write, the more comfortable we become with constructing sentences and paragraphs in English. It's also helpful to have teachers, parents, or friends provide feedback on our practice essays. They can point out areas that need improvement, such as vocabulary usage, grammar mistakes, or places where our ideas lack clarity. Taking their suggestions toheart and continuously revising our work is key to making progress.Another useful tip is to read as many sample essays by other students as possible. Seeing how others have approached and answered the same prompts can spark ideas for our own writing. We can analyze what makes certain essays effective and try to apply those techniques ourselves. For instance, we might notice that the best essays tend to open with an attention-grabbing hook, incorporate vivid descriptive details, and havewell-developed conclusions that leave a lasting impression.Overall, I actually find the Guangdong zhuan kou ben English essay questions to be quite enjoyable! They allow us to exercise our creativity while sharpening our writing abilities. Although the exams can certainly be challenging, preparing for them has helped me grow tremendously as an English student and writer.Well, those are my thoughts for now. Let me know if you have any other questions! I'll do my best explain further. Thank you for taking the time to read my perspective. Study hard, keep practicing, and I'm sure you will all do wonderfully on your English essay exams!。

广东专插本英语历年英语作文真题My Life as an Elementary StudentHi there! My name is Lily and I'm a 10-year-old student in the 5th grade. I love going to school and learning new things every day. Let me tell you all about my life as an elementary student!A Typical DayMy day usually starts at around 6:30 am when my mom comes into my room and gently wakes me up. I get dressed, brush my teeth, and head to the kitchen for a yummy breakfast. My favorite is waffles with strawberries and whipped cream! After breakfast, my mom packs a healthy lunch for me with a sandwich, fruits, veggies, and a juice box.At 7:30 am, I put on my backpack and walk to the bus stop near my house. The school bus arrives at 7:45 am sharp and I hop on, waving bye to my mom. On the bus, I chat and laugh with my friends. We talk about the latest movies, video games, or whatever is on our minds that day.School starts at 8:15 am and the first class is usually math or language arts. I really enjoy math because I'm good at solvingproblems and using logic. Language arts is fun too as we get to read creative stories and write our own compositions. We have a short snack break at 10 am where I munch on an apple or granola bar from my lunchbox. Then it's time for science, social studies, or an elective class like art, music or P.E. I especially love P.E. as I get to run around and play games with my classmates. The lunch period is at 12 pm and I head to the cafeteria with my friends. We have decent food like pizza, burgers, or pasta but my homemade lunch is usually better! After lunch, we have recess for 30 minutes where I can let off some energy on the playground before afternoon classes. In the afternoon, we have more core classes like science or social studies. Sometimes we watch educational videos or do fun experiments. My favorite was when we built volcano models and made them "erupt" with baking soda and vinegar! At 3 pm, it's finally time to go home. I board the bus and it drops me off near my house around 3:30 pm. As soon as I get home, I have a snack like graham crackers with peanut butter or apple slices while telling my parents about my day. After my snack, I start on my homework which usually takes 1-2 hours. I try to finish it before dinner so I can relax and play afterwards. Sometimes I have tests or projects to study for too.In the evenings, I love playing outside if the weather is nice. My friends and I ride our bikes, jump on the trampoline, or play freeze dance and tag. If it's raining, we play video games or board games inside. My bedtime is at 9 pm but before that, I take a warm bath or shower. I also read books that I borrowed from the school library. Then I snuggle under my covers while my mom reads me a bedtime story until I drift off to sleep.School Breaks and ActivitiesWhile I do enjoy going to school, I absolutely love when we have breaks or holidays! During winter break in December, my family and I love driving around neighborhoods to see all the beautiful Christmas light displays. We also bake lots of yummy treats like cookies and hot chocolate. For spring break in April, we sometimes go on a trip to a new city or state park. Last year, we went camping and hiked some trails through the woods. We also had a fun Easter egg hunt in the backyard. My favorite break is summer vacation which lasts for 2-3 months. I get to go to summer camp for a few weeks where I do awesome activities like swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, and performing camp skits or songs. The rest of summer, I spend quality time with my family going to the beach, barbecues, or the movies. When I'm not on break, I also participate in after-school activities a few days per week. On Mondays, I take a dance class where I'm learning ballet, jazz, and hip hop dance styles. Tuesdays are for my art class where we get to paint, draw,。

plastic soft drink bottles you throw away every day can be turned into carpet or automobiles parts? That used glass bottles and aluminum cans can be turned into new ones? And that yesterday’s newspaper can be turned into tomorrow’s?It all happens because of recycling(再利用).The simple waste we throw away is a “natural resource”that, with recycling, can be used to produce a variety of new products.Unfortunately,America recycles only 10% of its rubbish, burns 10% and deposits 80% in waste desposal grounds,As a result,it is having to cope with a serious solid waste problem.Every year,Americans throw away about 160 million tons of rubbish.Of that total, plastics make up less than 8%,paper about 36%,and glass and metal about 20%,all by weight.Plastics are naturally lighter, but still, when pressed together, accout for only about 20% by volume. As a result,in the past 10 years the United States’ waste disposal grounds have decreased from about 18,500 to 6,000.In five years 2,000 more will close. In the process of finding solutions, some people have proposed to stop using plastics.Unfortunately, stop using plastics would do much harm and no good.We would lose all of the safety, health and convenience features of plastics.Besides, packaging would still be needed.A 1987 study shows what would happen if plastics were not used--the energy needed to produce other packaging, its cost, and the volume of waste collected would all rise greatly. Some Americans believe part of the a nswer to America’s waste problem lies in recycling everything from glass to metals to paper to plastic.Today, recycling is on the rise. There are now more than 1,000 waste recycling programs in the U.S.Many are beginning to recycle plastics.Right now, almost 200 companies are recycling millions of used plastic containers into toys, traffic signs, waste baskets, floor materials, and park benches.Plastics are among the easiest materials to recycle.More than 150 million pounds or 20% of all plastic soft drink bottles were recycled in 1987.11.What can’t the plastic soft drink bottles be turned into?A.Newspapers.B.Automobile parts.C.Toys.D.Traffic signs.312.Of all the rubbish in the U.S.,plastics account for_____by weight and_____by volume.A.20%; 20%B. 8%; 20%C.36%; 8%D.20%; 36%13.On average, waste plastics are_____other wastes.A.as heavy in density asB.heavier in density later time when it is needed. The information may be kept for days or weeks. However, information in short-term memory is kept for only a few seconds, usually by repeating the information over and over. The following experiment shows how short-term memory has been studied.Henning studied how students who are learning English as a second language remember vocabulary. The subjects in his experiment were 75 college students. They represented all levels of ability in English:beginning, intermediate, advanced, and native-speaking students. To begin, the subjects listened to a recording of a native speaker reading a paragraph in English.Following the recording, the subjects took a 15-question test to see which words they remembered. Each question had four choices. The subjects had to circle the word they had heard in the recording. Some of the questions had four choices that sound alike. For example, weather, whethet, wither, and wetter are four words that sound alike. Some of the questions had four choices that have the same meaning.Method, way, manner, and system would be four words with the same meaning. Finally the subjects took a language proficiency test.Henning found that students with a lower proficiency in English made more of their mistakes on words that sound alike;students with a higher proficiency made more of their mistakes on words that have the same meaning.Henning’s results suggest that beginning students hold the sound of wor ds in their short-term memory, and advanced students hold the meaning of words in their short-term memory.16.Henning made the experiment in order to study_____.A.how students remember English vocabulary by short-term memoryB.how students learn English vocabularyC.how to develop students' ability in EnglishD.how long information in short-term 广东专插本英语历年英语作文真题全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1English Essays for the Big ExamHey kids! Are you getting ready for the super important English exam to get into college? I know it can feel really nerve-wracking, but don't worry - I'm here to help! Let me tell you about some of the essay questions from past years so you can start preparing. One year, the prompt was "If you could go back in time, what period would you visit and why?" Doesn't that sound exciting? You could write about meeting famous historical figures, experiencing life in a different era, or even just going on an awesome adventure through the past. Use lots of descriptive words to paint a picture in the reader's mind.Another prompt asked "What is your favorite book or movie and why?" For this one, you get to gush about your most beloved story! Describe the amazing characters, the gripping plot, the valuable lessons you learned. Make sure to includespecific details and examples from the book or movie to really show how much you love it.One year they asked "If you could have any superpower, what would it be and how would you use it?" Um, how cool is that?! You could write about flying through the sky, being super strong to help people, or even something totally unique you dreamed up yourself. The key is to vividly describe how you would wield your power for good."What is the most important invention in human history and why?" was another essay topic. Maybe you'll choose something like the wheel that revolutionized transportation. Or the printing press that spread knowledge far and wide. Or perhaps even something modern like computers or the internet! Whichever you pick, provide clear reasoning for its massive significance.I also saw one prompt that asked "If you could meet anyone from the past or present, who would it be and why?" Start by introducing this extraordinary person and what makes them so amazing and inspirational to you. Then narrate the imaginary meeting, describing what you might discuss or ask them about their incredible life and achievements. Those are just some examples, but you get the idea! The essays always want you to state an opinion, provide specificsupporting details and examples, use engaging language, and really stretch your creativity. Don't be afraid to let your personality and perspectives shine through in your writing. The keys are to organize your thoughts before you start, have a clear thesis statement up front, use transition words between paragraphs, and wrap it all up with a solid conclusion that reinforces your main point. Oh, and be sure to proofread for any spelling, grammar, or punctuation mistakes!I know you've all been working super hard, but writing these essays is your chance to showcase your awesome English skills too. So take a deep breath, believe in yourself, and get ready to absolutely crush this exam! You've totally got this. Now go get 'em, tigers!篇2Past Guangdong Graduate Entrance Exam English Writing TopicsHi everyone! My name is Xiaoming and I'm in 5th grade. Today I want to tell you all about the past English writing topics for the big test that college students take to get their Master's degree in Guangdong called the Graduate Entrance Exam. I know it seems super grown-up, but I love learning about stuff like this!Last year, one of the topics was about your favorite teacher and why you liked them so much. Can you imagine writing a whole essay in English about your teacher? I would definitely pick Mr. Wang, my math teacher. He's really nice and always has funny jokes to help us remember formulas. Like when he taught us about area and perimeter, he did this silly dance about rectangles having four fun sides to go around. It made me laugh so much!Another topic from a few years ago asked what you think is the most important personality trait for being successful in the future. That's a hard one! I think being curious and always wanting to learn new things is really important. My grandpa always says you can never know too much. He reads the newspaper everyday to learn about what's happening in the world. I try to be like that too by asking my parents and teachers lots of questions. In 2020, one of the writing prompts was about the role of technology in education. Technology is so cool! I love using apps to practice my English vocabulary by playing games. And in science class, we get to go online and watch these amazing videos about how things work, like volcanoes erupting. Althoughsometimes I do wish we could just go explore a real volcano! Well, maybe not too close. You know what I mean. They also had an interesting topic in 2018 about whether reading fiction books is beneficial. I think fiction books are the best! All my favorite stories are fiction, like Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, and Percy Jackson. Getting lost in the world of a book is so much fun. You get to imagine crazy magical things and go on epic adventures. Even though the stories aren't real, I feel like I learn a lot about bravery, friendship, and never giving up from the characters. In 2017, they asked test takers to pick a famous person from history that they admire and explain why. Hmm, who would I pick? Maybe Marie Curie, the scientist who discovered radium and did super important work on radioactivity. I think she was so brilliant and strong to keep working hard even though a lot of people didn't take her seriously just because she was a woman back then. My mom says Marie Curie proved that girls can be just as good as boys at science!Oh oh, and in 2015 the topic was about whether schools should have dress codes or let students wear whatever they want.I actually don't mind having to wear uniforms to school. It makes getting ready in the morning way easier since I don't have to pickout an outfit. And it's kind of fun that we all match and get to represent our school together. But I do feel a little bad for my friend Lili because she loves all the latest fashions and hair styles. She's always doodling new dress designs during class! There have been so many other cool writing topics over the years too, like the pros and cons of social media, what you would do if you were an invisible superpower for a day, and whether we should have a four-day school week. Could you imagine only going to school four days instead of five? That would be amazing!Well, those are just some of the topics I thought were most interesting from the old tests. I'm sure coming up with a whole essay in English on these subjects is crazy hard, even for smart college kids who want their Master's. I still have so much to learn when it comes to writing! But I'll keep practicing and working my brain. Maybe I'll even take the big Grad test myself one day when I'm all grown up. A girl can dream, right?Anyway, I hope you found these old writing prompts fun to learn about. Being a student is the best! We get to explore all kinds of fascinating ideas and use our creativity. Who knows what thought-provoking topics they'll have in the future? I can't wait to find out!篇3English Composition is Awesome!Hiya! My name is Xiaoming and I'm 10 years old. I'm in 5th grade and I absolutely LOVE English class! Learning English is so much fun. My favorite part is when we get to write English compositions. I want to tell you all about the cool English composition topics we get to write about. They're from past exams that older students take to get into university programs. Pretty neat, right?Every year, there is a big important test in Guangdong called the Entrance Examination for Undergraduate Studies. Universities use it to decide who gets to become an undergraduate student. Part of the test is an English composition section where students have to write a whole essay in English! The composition topics are always really interesting.Last year, one of the prompts was "If you could travel back in time, which period of history would you visit and why?" How awesome is that?! I would definitely want to go back and see the dinosaurs. Maybe I could even ride a T-Rex! Or I might visit ancient Egypt to see the pyramids being built. That would be so cool to watch the workers moving all those massive stone blocks.Another topic from a few years ago asked students to discuss their favorite teacher and explain why that teacher was so great. For me, that would definitely be my English teacher Ms. Wang. She makes learning English super duper fun! We play games, sing songs, and she's really nice and patient when we make mistakes. Thanks to Ms. Wang, I'm getting really good at English. She's the best teacher ever!Oh oh, here's another awesome topic from a past exam: "If you could have any new ability or superpower, what would you choose and why?" Hmmmm...I think I would want the ability to fly! How cool would it be to just sprout wings and soar through the sky? I could fly anywhere I wanted. Maybe I'd use my flying powers to save people who are stuck or in danger. I could be a real-life superhero! That would be the best superpower. For one of the tests, students had to write about "an event or moment from your life that made a strong impression on you." Oooh, I know the exact moment I would pick. It was when I traveled with my family to Beijing and got to climb up on the Great Wall of China! It was such an incredible experience. The Wall stretched out as far as I could see in both directions. I felt so tiny compared to this massive ancient structure. I'll never forgetthat powerful feeling of walking along the Great Wall and imagining the workers who built it so many centuries ago.Anyway, those are just a few examples of the super interesting English composition topics from past Guangdong college entrance exams. Whether it's writing about your dream superpowers, important life events, amazing places in history, or great teachers, the prompts are always packed with opportunities for creativity and fun. I honestly can't wait for the exams to roll around each year so I can see what awesome new composition topics they'll have!English writing lets you explore your imagination and express your thoughts and experiences in another language. It's challenging for sure, but overcoming that challenge makes it even more rewarding. Whenever I'm working on an English composition, I get completely absorbed in brainstorming ideas, putting sentences together, and making sure everything flows smoothly from paragraph to paragraph. It's hard work, but I love it!Maybe someday I'll even get to take the real Guangdong Entrance Examination for Undergraduate Studies myself. Can you imagine? By then I'll be a total pro at English compositions.I'll draw from all my years of practice on those fun past prompts. My essays are going to be amazing! I'll get高分scores for sure.Well, I should probably stop rambling and go do my English homework now. Gotta keep practicing! Thanks for letting me tell you all about the great English composition section on the Guangdong college tests. Maybe I'll see you at the exam someday. Just look for the kid writing the most awesome English essay ever!篇4Top-up English Test Essays are Funny and Hard!Every year, students who want to go to college have to take a big English test called the Top-up English test. It has an essay part where you have to write a whole story in English! A lot of my older friends had to do it when they were in high school. They said it was really really hard!My friend David told me about his essay when he took the test in 2021. The prompt was "Write about a time when you had to make a difficult choice." David said he wrote a story about having to choose between getting a dog or a cat as a pet. He picked the dog because dogs are more fun to play fetch with, even though cats are very cute and soft.David said he tried to use lots of vocabulary words he had learned like "dilemma" and "perplexed." He said the graders like it when you use fancy words to make your writing sound smart. But he also had to be careful not to use too many words he didn't understand, or else his essay wouldn't make sense. It's a tough balance! In 2022, my friend Emma had to write about her favorite book for the Top-up test. She wrote all about Harry Potter and how she loves the magic and adventures. She said she tried to analyze the characters and themes to make her essay sound really deep and insightful. But she struggled because she hasn't read all the Harry Potter books yet, so she was a little short on details.Writing in English for a huge test like that sounds so hard! I'm really nervous about having to do it myself in a few years when I get to high school. I'll have to study grammar rules and vocabulary words for forever to prepare. My English skills now are ok for a 4th grader, but nowhere near good enough to write a long essay that has to impress college people.I asked my mom if she had to do anything like the Top-up essays when she was a student, and she said no, the English tests were all multiple choice back then. She said she's glad becauseshe wasn't very good at writing essays even in Chinese back then! I'll have to work way harder on my English writing than she did.Even though the essays sound really difficult, I can understand why colleges want to make students do it. It shows if you can communicate your thoughts and ideas clearly. And being able to write well is an important skill for doing lots of jobs after college. So I'll just have to study hard, learn lots of vocabulary and grammar rules, and get ready to write my heart out for the big test! Maybe I'll get lucky and get a prompt about my favorite video game or cartoon.Either way, it will be good practice for me. Who knows, maybe I'll get so good at English writing that I'll become a famous author someday! I could write stories about aliens or talking animals. That would be fun. Though I'll probably have an easier time getting published if I write the books in Chinese first! Baby steps. For now, I'll focus on trying to raise my English level little by little. Maybe I'll even ask my teacher if I can practice by writing some short essays to prepare. I can have my classmates be the "graders" and we can all check each other's work. Then we'll all be ready to pass the Top-up test when the time comes!I've decided I'm definitely going to college, so I have to master English essay writing eventually. It will be hard, and I'll be really nervous on test day. But I'm sure if I work hard, I can handle it. Then I'll be able to keep learning and become a doctor, scientist, businessperson, or whatever I want! Yay English!篇5Guangdong Zhuan Zhuanben English Exam Writing TopicsHi there! My name is Lily and I'm a 5th grader. Today I want to tell you all about the writing section on the Guangdong Zhuan Zhuanben English exam. It's a super important test that students take to get into universities. The writing part is really hard but I'll do my best to explain it!Every year, the exam has different writing prompts that test how well you can write in English. The prompts cover all kinds of topics - some years it might be about your hobbies or family, other years it could be current events or social issues. No matter what though, you have to write a whole essay in response! Can you imagine having to write that much as a kid? I can barely write a few paragraphs without getting tired! One year, the prompt was "If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?" That one actuallysounds kind of fun. I'd choose to go to Tokyo to see all the cool anime stuff! I'd visit Akihabara and eat ramen and try on cosplay outfits. Although...I probably shouldn't mention anime in my exam essay. The graders might think that's too silly and kid-ish. Maybe I should say I want to go see Mount Fuji instead? Describing nature is always a safe choice on these exams.Another prompt from a few years ago was "What is the most significant invention in human history? Support your choice with examples." Oof, that's a tough one! I'd be really stuck on that. The most important invention ever? I'd say...the internet! Or maybe penicillin because it stopped people from dying of diseases. Those both seem like pretty big deals. Although come to think of it, the wheel was insanely important too. And light bulbs! Ugh, I have no idea how I'd choose just one invention to write a whole essay about.Sometimes the prompts are about more serious topics that are harder for a kid to understand. Like in 2018, one prompt was "In your opinion, what are the causes of economic inequality and how can they be addressed?" Yeah...I don't really know much about economics or inequality. I'd probably just end up writing "Everyone should get the same amount of money and stuff. The end." Which I'm pretty sure wouldn't get a passing grade! The prompts can also be about abstract concepts that go over my head. Like in 2015 there was "What is the value of cultural diversity in our society?" Or in 2012: "Evaluate the importance of creativity in achieving success in the modern world." As a 5th grader, I feel like I can't fully grasp those kinds of complex ideas yet. I'd have no clue how to "evaluate the importance" of something!Luckily, not every prompt is quite that deep. Some are about simpler things kids can relate to, like in 2019 when it was "Describe your favorite celebrity and explain why you admire them." For that one, I could write all about my favorite singer Julia Redpond! She's so cool and inspirational. Although...do I know enough memorable details about her to fill an entire essay? I'd probably run out of things to say after a few paragraphs.Wow, writing all this has made me realize how incredibly hard the Guangdong Zhuan Zhuanben exam essays must be, even for teenagers and adults! Having to write a long, cohesive essay in English in response to such complex prompts? No thanks, I'll stick to writing silly stories about talking animals for now. Maybe once I'm older and have a lot more knowledge about the world, taking a test like that will be easier. But definitely not anytime soon!Well, thanks for letting me tell you all about it. Writing this has been fun practice, even if it's not as intense as the real exam essays. I gave examples of past prompts, talked about which ones seem easy or super hard for a kid, and just tried my best to explain it all. Hopefully it helps you understand what kinds of writing challenges are on the Zhuan Zhuanben English exam. It's no piece of cake, that's for sure! But I'll keep working hard in school so maybe someday I can write amazing essays too. Bye for now!篇6My Favourite English Exam Essay TopicsHi there! My name is Little John and I'm a 5th grader. I really like English class, especially when we get to write essays on fun topics from the Guangdong Zhuan Sheng Ben English exams. Those essay questions are super cool! One of my favourite topics is about my dream vacation. I would write all about going to a beach with bright blue water and soft white sand. I'd make sandcastles and swim in the warm ocean waves. For food, I'd eat juicy watermelon and drink coconut milk right from the coconut! At night, I'd stargaze andmake s'mores over a beach bonfire. That would be the best holiday ever!Another fun topic is describing my dream career. I have lots of ideas for what I want to be when I grow up. Maybe I'll be a scientist and invent a time machine or teleporter! How awesome would that be? Or I could be an astronaut and travel to Mars or even farther into deep space. Exploring new planets and galaxies would be out of this world! Perhaps I'll be a famous chef and open a restaurant serving wacky fusion dishes likechocolate-covered cricket tacos. Yum!Sometimes the prompts ask about my hero or role model. For that one, I always write about my grandpa. He's the wisest, kindest, funniest person I know. Grandpa taught me how to ride a bike, bait a fishing hook, and do card tricks. He's travelled all around the world and has a billion amazing stories to tell. When I'm feeling sad or anxious, Grandpa knows just what to say to cheer me up. He's seriously the best!My absolutely most favorite essay topic is imagining I can have any superpower. Oh man, I would go crazy coming up with the coolest, craziest superpowers ever! Maybe I'd have laser vision to burn holes in my broccoli so I don't have to eat it. Or I could sprout wings and fly everywhere instead of riding in thecar. How about the power to talk to animals? I'd be a pet translator! Invisibility would be neat too - I could sneak into movies for free. Or maybe the ability to control time by pausing, rewinding, or fast-forwarding. So many possibilities! Those Zhuan Sheng Ben essay topics are endlessly fun and creative to write about. The exam questions really get my imagination going with all the dreaming and fantasizing. My essays are always super descriptive and packed with details, jokes, and crazy ideas. I just let my brain run wild and my pen fly across the page! English class is my favourite subject for sure.Well, that's all for now. I've got to get back to learning new vocabulary words like "cacophony" and "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious."。
We all know that some things are obviously right. For example, it is right to be 1 to other people. It is also right to look after the environment. Some things are 2 wrong, too. For instance, we should not hurt or bully(欺负) others, nor should we litter. Rules often tell us what is right or wrong.Rules can help the public make the right 3 , and remain safe. Car drivers have to obey traffic regulations that tell them the right things to do on the road to avoid crashes. Cyclists who give signals before turning or stopping help prevent 4 .If people follow rules without taking other matters into consideration, it will be 5 for them to form what is sometimes called a “black and white”view. For example, they may believe that people should always tell the truth, and that lying is 6 acceptable. Such people always stick to their views, even if it means that they may get into 7 .Sometimes it may not be so easy to know 8 what is right or wrong. Some people choose not to eat meat because they believe that it is 9 to eat animals, but others argue that they can eat meat and 10 be kind to eat animals; some insist that stealing is always wrong, but others think that one does not need to feel so 11 when stealing some food to eat, if he lives in a really poor area and he is 12 .Rules help us live together in harmony, because they show us the right way to 13 others. However, some people argue that rules may be 14 , having observed that rules change all the time, and that some schools have some regulations and others have different ones— so who is to 15 what is right?1. He suddenly appeared in class one day, 16 (wear) sun glasses. He walked in as if he 17 (buy) the school. And the word quickly got around that he was from New York City. For some reason he sat beside Mary. Mary felt 18 (please), because there were many empty seats in the room. But she quickly realized that it wasn’t her, it was probably the fact that she sat in 19 last row.20 he thought he could escape attention by sitting at the back, he was wrong. It might have made it a little 21 (hard) for everybody because it meant they had to turn around, but that didn’t stop the kids in the class. Of course whenever they turned to look at him, they had to look at Mary, 22 made her feel like a star.“Do you need those glasses for medical reasons?”the teacher asked. The new boy shook his head. “Then I’d appreciate it if you did n’t wear them in the class. I like to look at your eyes when I’m speaking to you. ” The new boy looked at the teacher 23 a few seconds and all the other students wondered 24 the boy would do. Then he took 25 off, gave a big smile and said, “That’s cool.”A“Have a nice day!” may be a pleasant gesture or a meaningless expression. When my friend Maxie says “have a nice day” with a smile, I know she sincerely cares about what happens to me. I feel loved and secure since another person cares about me and wishes me well.“Have a nice day. Next!” this version of the expression is spoken by a salesgirl at the supermarket who is rushing me and my groceries out the door. The words come out in the same tone with a fixed procedure. They are spoken at me, not to me. Obviously, the concern for my day and everyone else’s is the management’s attempt to increase business. The expression is one of those behaviors that help people get along with each other. Sometimes it indicates the end of a meeting. As soon as you hear it, you know the meeting is at an end. Sometimes the expression saves us when we don’t know what to say. “oh, you just had a tooth out? I’m terribly sorry, but have a nice day.”The expression can be pleasant. If a stranger says “Have a nice day!” to you, you may find it heart-warming became someone you don’t know has tried to be nice to you.Although the use of the expression is an insincere, meaningless social custom at times, there is nothing wrong with the sentence except that it is a little uninteresting. The sale girl, the waitress, the teacher, and all the countless others who speak it without thinking may not really care about my day. But in a strange and comfortable way, it’s nice to know they care enough to pretend they care when they really don’t care all that much. While the expression may not often he sincere, it is always spoken. The point is that people say it all the time when they like.26. How doesn’t the author understand Maxie’s word?A. Maxie shows her anxiety to the author.B. Maxie really wishes the author a good day.C. Maxie encourages the author to stay happy.D. Maxie really worries about the author’s security.27. What does the underlined sentence in Paragraph 2 mean?A. The salesgirl is rude.B. The salesgirl is bored.C. The salesgirl cares about me.D. The salesgirl says the words as a routine.28. By saying “Have a nice day,” a stranger may______.A. try to be polite to youB. express respects to youC. give his blessing to youD. share his pleasure with you.29. According to the last paragraph, people say “Have a good day” __________A. sincerelyB. as thanksC. as a habitD. encouragingly30. What is the best title of the passage?A. Have a Nice Day----- a polite ending of a ConversationBI have been consistently opposed to feeding a baby regularly. As a doctor, mother and scientist in child development I believe there is nothing to recommend it, from the baby’s point of view.Mothers, doctors and nurses alike have no idea of where a baby’s blood sugar level lies. All we know is that a low level is harmful to brain development and makes a baby easily annoyed. In this state, the baby is difficult to calm down and sleep is impossible. The baby asks for attention by crying and searching for food with its mouth. It is not just unkind but also dangerous to say a four-hourly feeding schedule will make a baby satisfied. The first of the experts to advocate a strict clock-watching schedule was Dr. Frederic Truby King who was against feeding in the night. I’ve never heard anything so ridiculous. Baby feeding shouldn’t follow a timetable set by the mum. What is important is feeding a baby in the best way, though it may cause some inconvenience in the first few weeks.Well, at last we have copper-bottomed research that supports demand feeding and points out the weaknesses of strictly timed feeding. The research finds out that babies who are fed on demand do better at school at age 5, 7, 11 and 14, than babies fed according to the clock. By the age of 8, their IQ(智商)scores are four to fivepercent higher than babies fed by a rigid timetable. This research comes from Oxford and Essex University using a sample(样本)of 10,419 children born in the early 1990s,taking account of parental education, family income, a child’s sex and age, the mother’s health and feeling style. These results don’t surprise me. Feeding according to schedule runs the risk of harming the rapidly growing brain by taking no account of sinking blood sugar levels.I hope this research will put an end to advocating strictly timed baby feeling practices.31. According to Paragraph 2, one reason why a baby cries is that it feels______.A. sickB. upsetC. sleepyD. hungry32. What does the author think about Dr. King?A. He is strict.B. He is unkind.C. He has the wrong idea.D. He sets a timetable for mothers33. The word copper-bottomed in Paragraph 4 is closest in meaning to _________.A. basicB. reliableC. surprisingD. interesting34. What does the research tell us about feeding a baby on demand?A. The baby will sleep well.B. The baby will have its brain harmed.C. The baby will have a low blood sugar level.D. The baby will grow to be wiser by the age of 8.35. The author supports feeding the baby_______.A. in the nightB. every four hoursC. whenever it wants foodD. according to its blood sugar levelCI was blind, but I was ashamed of it if it was known. I refused to use a white stick and hated asking for help. After all, I was a teenage girl, and I couldn’t bear people to look at me and think I was not like them. I must have been a terrible danger on the roads. Coming across me wandering through the traffic, motorists probably would have to stop rapidly on their brakes. Apart from that, there were all sorts of disasters that used to occur on the way to and from work. One evening, I got off the bus about halfway home where I had to change buses, and as usual I ran into something. “I’m awfully sorry,”I said and stepped forward only to run into it again. When it happened a third time, I realized I had been apologizing to a lamppost. This was just one of the stupid things that constantly happened to me. So I carried on and found the bus stop, which was a request stop, where the bus wouldn’t stop unless passengers wanted to get on or off. No one elsewas there and I had to guess if the bus had arrived.Generally in this situation, because I hated showing I was blind by asking for help, I tried to guess at the sound. Sometimes I would stop a big lorry and stand there feeling stupid as it drew away. In the end, I usually managed to swallow my pride and ask someone at the stop for help. But at this particular evening no one joined me at the stop; it seemed that everyone had suddenly decided not to travel by bus. Of course I heard plenty of buses pass, or I thought I did. But because I had given up stopping them for fear of making a fool of myself, I let them all go by. I stood there alone for half an hour without stopping one. Then I gave up. I decided to walk on to the next stop.36. The girl refused to ask for help because she thought .A. she might be recognizedB. asking for help looked sillyC. she was normal and independentD. being found blind was37. After the girl got off the bus that evening, she .A. began to runB. hit a person as usualC. hit a lamppostD. was caught by something38. At the request stop that evening, the girl .A. stopped a big lorryB. stopped the wrong busC. made no attempt to stop the busD. was not noticed by other people39. What was the problem with guessing at the sound to stop a bus?A. Other vehicles also stopped thereB. It was unreliable for making judgments.C. More lorries than buses responded to the girl.D. It took too much time for the girl to catch the bus.40. Finally the girl decided to walk to the next stop, hoping .A. to find people thereB. to find more buses thereC. to find the bus by herself thereD. to find people more helpful thereDSports accounts for a growing amount of income made on the sales of commercial time by television companies. Many television companies have used sports to attract views from particular sections of the general public, and then they have sold audiences to advertisers. An attraction of sports programs for the major U.S. media company is that events are often held on Saturday and Sunday afternoons — the slowest time periods of theweek for general television viewing. Sport events are the most popular weekend programs, especially among male viewers who may not watch much television at other times during the week. This means the television networks are able to sell advertising time at relatively high prices during what normally would be dead time for programming.Media corporations also use sports to attract commercial sponsors that might take their advertising dollars elsewhere if television stations did not report certain sports. The people in the advertising departments of major corporations realize that sports attract male viewers. They also realize that most business travelers are men and that many men make family decisions on the purchases of computers, cars and life insurance.Golf and tennis are special cases for television programming. These sports attract few viewers, and the ratings(收视率) are unusually low. However, the audience for these sports is attractive to certain advertisers. It is made up of people from the highest income groups in the United States, including many lawyers and business managers. This is why television reporting of golf and tennis is sponsored by companies selling high-priced cars, business and personal computers, and holiday trips. This is also why the networks continue to carry these programs regardless of low ratings. Advertisers are willing to pay high fees to reach high-income consumers and those managers who make decisions to buy thousands of “company cars”and computers. With such viewers, these programs don’t need high ratings to stay on the air.41. Television sports programs on weekend afternoons ___________.A. result in more sport eventsB. get more viewers to play sportsC. make more people interested in televisionD. bring more money to the television networks.42. Why would weekend afternoons become dead time without sport programs?A. Because there would be few viewersB. Because the advertisers would be off work.C. Because television programs would go slowly.D. Because viewers would pay less for watching television.43. In many families, men make decisions on _________.A. holiday tripsB. sports viewingC. television shoppingD. expensive purchases44. The ratings are not important for golf and tennis programs because _______.A. their advertisers are carmakersB. their viewers are attracted by sportsC. their advertisers target at rich people.D. their viewers can afford expensive cars45. What is the passage mainly about?A. Television ratings are determined by male viewers.B. Rich viewers contribute most to television companies.C. Sports are gaining importance in advertising on television.D. Commercial advertisers are the major sponsors of sport events.III. 写作(共两节,满分40分)第一节第二节基础写作(共1小题,满分15分)第三节第四节你接受了一项写作任务,要为英语校报写一篇人物介绍。

They may be a good means of testing memory, or the skills of working rapidly under extreme pressure, but they can tell you nothing about a person's true ability. As anxiety-makers. examinations are second to none. Examinations do not motivate a student to read widely, and they do not enable him to seek more and more knowledge. Furthermore. teachers themselves are often judged by the results of their students' examinations. Consequently, they have to train their students to master exam techniques which they dislike. They most successful candidates are not always the best educated but the best trained..The results on which so much depends are often nothing more than a subjective assessment by some anonymous (匿名的) examiners.
