Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Step 1 Warming-up Do exercises about words T: Hello, everyone. Today we’ll continue to learn Unit 4. Why don’t you talk to your parents? First, you’re going to do exercises to consolidate the words of unit 4. 1. 让学生们讨论罗波特先生对问题的建议,并发表自己的看法。 2. 学生们分小组讨论,发表自己的意见,由小组长汇总。 3. 让小组长并汇总的意见和其他同学汇报。 Step 2 Pre-writing Work on 3a Read and make notes T: Well, last time we learned something about after-school classes. Today we continue to discuss this topic. A magazine interviewed some parents about after-school classes for children. Here’re three of their opinions. Do you agree or disagree? Please discuss in groups and make notes on your own 1. 告诉学生们本学习活动的要求:找出短文与下列词汇意思相同的句子。 2. 让学生们先读3c中的词汇,理解其意思,然后再在短文找出与其意思相同的词汇。 3. Check the answers。 吸引学生注意力,让学生在轻松的状态下,巩固练习本单元的词汇,为本课时的写作奠定基础。

Debate in groups T: Now I think you can have a debate on after-school classes. Five of you are in a team. One agrees that children should take after-school classes, the other not. Both of you have five minutes to get ready. Step 3 While-writing Work on 3b Think and write 1. T: Now that you have your own opinions on after-school classes for children, please write a letter to the magazine. Try to write two paragraphs. You can use the expressions in 3b to help you. 2. T: Pay attention to this table. We will evaluate your writing according to this table. Make sure you write all the main points. Try to use correct expressions and not to make mistakes. Remember to have a good handwriting. If you have excellent expressions and good ideas, you’ll get extra points. Now let’s begin our writing. Step 4 Post-writing 1. Evaluate writing T: Please exchange your letters with your partners and grade it according to the table. 2. Give advice T: After grading, please write down your advice on your partner’s letter. 3. 同伴之间相互交换作文,根据评分标准打分并给出相应的意见。调动了学生的兴趣,也使学生更加清楚如何写好一篇规范的文章。通过批改他人的作文,学生也在内心检视了自己的作文,起到了取长补短的作用。
