什么是 状语从句呢？

定义:
一个_句_子__用作状语时,在语法上叫状语从句。这个 句子可修饰主句的_谓__语__，_定__语__，_状__语__ 或 _整_个__句__子__。状语从句通常由一个＿连＿词＿引起或起 连词作用的词__组__引起或由_副__词__， _名__词__词_组____等
3．某些表示时间的名词词组，如 the (very) moment (= as soon as ), the minute (= as soon as ), the instant (= as soon as ), the day, the year, the morning, every time, each time, next time, the first time等，也可以引导时间状语从句，如：
1. when, while , as, whenever, before, after, until, till, since, ever since, once, as soon as 2. every time, next/last/each time, the first time, the moment, the minute, the instant, the second 3. instantly, directly, immediately 4. hardly…when, scarcely…when , barely…when
2．有些词，如 immediately, directly, instantly等，当用于 as soon as 意义时，也可以引导时间状语从句，如：
I got in touch with him immediately I received his letter. My sister came directly she got my message. The machine will start instantly you press the button.

We were walking along the river when I heard a cry of help.

因此，考生在确定其中的介词时，可从以下三方面入 手：
1．句子的意思；2.先行词的意义；3.从句中的动词固 定搭配。
