My dream
I am going to be a doctor when I grow up because I think it is a really great job. I make some
resolutions for this dream. For example, I will study harder. And I hope to study in a medical
university when I finish my high school. Also, I will try my best to help others and become
friendlier than before, because a good doctor always makes people feel better when they are ill or
sad. And I expect to work in Wenzhou. I think if I can keep these promises, I will be able to be a
doctor.

I have a dream. I want to be an engineer when I grow up. I expect to build a lot of great and
creative buildings in the future. Everyone knows cities need buildings and buildings need
engineers. So engineers are very important to us. I’m going to move to Beijing or Shanghai when I
finish my high school and college.
Now I must study really hard and read books about engineering when I am free. I will never give
up my dream because I believe the power of a dream.

My New Year’s Resolutions

The second resolution is about improving my physical health. I’m going to do more exercise
because it’s good for my mind and body.
The third resolution is about improving my relationship with my family and friends. I’m going
to help my mother with housework because she is so tired after work. And I will always be ready
to help my friends because I think a true friend reaches for your hand and touches your heart.
The last resolution is about how to do better at school. I expect to study harder than before and
ask teachers more questions. Then I can get better grades.
These are my resolutions. I will try my best to keep them.

New Year’s Resolutions(课时特训上P75作文)
At the beginning of the year, people always make resolutions for the year, but different people
have different resolutions. Let’s have a look.
Linda is my classmate. Her New Year’s resolutions are to learn to play the violin and to get
good grades. For this reason, she’s going to join the violin club and study harder. She says it’s her
dream to be a violinist.
Tom is my cousin. He wants to make some money for his family, so he’s going to find a
part-time job like a waiter at a restaurant. He says he isn’t a child any more. He can look after
himself next year.
My resolutions aren’t so difficult as theirs. I just want to get good grades and become
healthier , so I should eat more vegetables and fruit, although I dislike them. Of course, I must
study harder than any other student, and I should exercise more, because I’m a little fat.
Although sometimes resolutions are difficult to keep, I think we should have resolutions. They
can give us power to do better. Do you agree with me?
