1 概述RDM（Remote Device Management）是远程设备管理的意思。

它是在数据双向传输等条件下（如：DMX512-A），实现对灯光设备的配置、状态监测和管理。

2006年，美国娱乐服务与技术协会（ESTA）下属的技术标准机构（TSP）出台了ANSI E1.20 Remote Device Management over USITT DMX512 Networks（《USITT DMX512网络上的远程设备管理》），并在2011年进行了更新。

传统的DMX设备也能在RDM协议下正常运行，并且依然采用原有的DMX接插件和信号线。

RDM具有以下功能：识别所连设备（灯具、调光器、分配器等）；给DMX512设备指定起始地址码（简称地址码）；报告设备状态；配置DMX设备。

2016年5月，MA Lighting公司将MA2灯光控制台升级至3.2.2.3版，对RDM协议的应用达到了质的飞跃，比如：实现了在灯光控制台上给灯具拨地址码的功能，也就是说，不必到DMX设备上去拨地址码了。

笔者将通过具体实例来解释RDM在MA2灯光控制台中的一些应用。

17世纪剧场繁荣时期；脚光的使用、人们开始寻求调节灯光亮度的方法，并且尝试用灯光塑造气氛。

18世纪前期：反射器及彩色丝绸的运用、油灯和灯芯的改进、彩色玻璃罩的出现。

舞台灯光史煤气灯、瓦斯灯照明时代18世纪20年代：出现了煤气灯、石灰灯和碳弧灯，控制设备也开始完善，有了独立的控制系统实现光亮度的控制，开始有了较丰富的灯光效果和配合当时日趋复杂的舞台机械及布景。

舞台灯光史电气时代1887年以后，电灯开始在剧场中广泛使用，从此可在演区和天幕区塑造出多边光效以配合要出的气氛。

产生了阿区亚灯光理论。

20世纪60年代，在舞台上出现了电脑灯具，在灯具产生了飞跃。

舞台灯光不仅要照亮演员，让观众看清面部表情、神态、动作，用于清洁的烘托，增加视觉立体效果，抚慰内心柔软的部分，给观众带来感官享受。
