作者通过写女儿吸烟为开头，不但引出了香烟的概念，而且还让作者想起了她的父亲，因为她的父亲曾经跟她的女儿现在一样，不停的抽着烟，作者通过对几种知名香烟以及烟盒上人物形象的刻画，再对他父亲进行描写，形成了强烈反差，之后，作者又对她父亲吸烟后的场景进行回忆以及对生活在底层的人们吸烟的描写，成功的表达了作者对烟草商利用广告引诱民众抽烟的不满，以及自己不论是身为女儿还是母亲，对自己亲人抽烟感到深深的痛苦和无奈。
Beginning with the author’s daughter smoking , not only leading to the concept of
cigarettes,but also reminded the author of her father,because her
daughter kept smoking as her father
once .By writing several
well-known cigarettes and the characters on the cigarette
from a strong contrast to the describing of her father . he was hooked by
cigarettes becaues of the fashionable looks of the smoking heroes in the movies. Then the author
memoried the scene of her father smoking and described people smoking who living at
the bottom of society . from those thing that author reaslised clearly the tobacco was a invisiable
thief who had stolen people’s health and life,even happiness. It was successfully
expressed the author's dissatisfaction with tobacconist used advertisement to induce
people smoking . Whether as a daughter or a mother ,she felt deeply pain and helpness
of her relates who moking .
