Performance Determines Score
Just as the saying goes, “No pains, no gains.” Without any doubt, the performance
plays a vital role in the assurance of score. Now since the total score of class
participation performance is 20 points, I will divide it into four parts, including
attendance, presentation, homework and in-class performance and each part
accounts for 1/4 . And I will describe my performance in each part in detail and
calculate the final score I deserve.
Above all, one’s attendance shows if one is serious to the class and interested in
the content, which directly decides what benefit one can gain from the class. And
what behind attendance is the reason why one chooses the class. Maybe everyone
holds different purposes. As for me, i aim to make some preparations for TEM8 and
through the learning in the class. So I just try to absorb all the information of all the
classes. But it is little bit hard for me to keep perfect attendance because I am busy
with some other matters, like the postgraduate entrance examination. Therefore,
the terminal result is that I skip one class. So I reckon that 4 points may fit on e over
the part.
Then, presentation follows, on which my partners and I just spend much time and
effort. We just select many materials and then make sure the one we will translate.
And the tough process of the translation has ever frustrated me and drove me into
despair. Fortunately, we overcome all the obstacles by our insistence. And I also feel
the happiness after conquering a series of obscure words.Surely, there still exists
some problems in our translation. So over the part I can get 4 points.
About the homework, absolutely I do my best to treat it. For example, the first
composition is a review about a book. At once, I think of my favorite book, The Great
Gatsby, and express all the thoughts around the book, which no only links to my
mind but my feelings deep in heart. The serious attitude can help me get 5 points.
The last but not least, in-class performance just shows your efforts during the
cherished 45 minutes with the class. I do keep my concentration on the voice of the
teacher and pay attention to every word he writes on the blackboard.During the
presentation, of my classmates, I just try to learn anything from them as much as
possible and put it down on my notebook. But sometimes I may get lost in the joke of
my deskmate, immersed in the joy, forgetting the existence of the teacher. So I can
get 3 points.
To sum up, I can get 16 points of all the 20 points.
