A beautiful seaside city - Qingdao is a famous and important place for international trade. It is located in eastern Shandong province, across the Shandong Peninsula and facing the Yellow Sea. You can visit Mt. Laoshan, Taiqing Palace and the Xiaoyushan as well as the Zhanqiao, which is the No. 1 Bathing Beach. No.1 Bathing Beach
you are arranged to see and touch the No.1 Bathing Beach. Qingdao has a few public beaches and No. 1 is the biggest and best one. Surrounded on three sides by mountains, the beach is like the pearl of Huiquan Bay. The gentle slope and mild waves make the place a comfortable play area. Visitors can sunbathe here and swim near the coast, relaxing by playing volleyball or running on the sand and even dining on the beach. The region's comfortable weather makes it a good choice to avoid the summer heat. Even in winter this place is crowded with keen swimmers. As one of the largest public beaches in China, it draw huge a great number of tourists in the summer months.
Badaguan Scenic Area, is a famous picturesque sanitarium area in China, located in the east of Qingdao city, Shandong Province. This place used to have eight avenues that were named after eight famous passes in China. Thus, it was named Badaguan, which means eight passes. After the People's Liberation, two more avenues were built in the area and there are now actually ten avenues. However, its name still remains the same.
Luxuriant trees growing along each avenue provide a pleasant shade in Badaguan Scenic Area. Moreover, there is a vast array of different flowers, which form a quiet, clean and beautiful environment all year-round. Each of the ten avenues has different flowers and trees. The flowers also bloom in different
seasons and give this area its other beautiful name, Hua Jie, which means a flowery area.
What makes Badaguan so popular is not just its natural scenery, but also its garden-like villas and foreign-styled buildings. Badaguan Scenic Area used to be a place where people from more than twenty countries, such as Russia, Britain, France, Germany, the United States of America, Denmark, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Japan and etc., constructed buildings in each of their unique national styles. After the People's Liberation, the government repaired the entire area and its buildings, symbolizing Badaguan's significance as one of the most important sanitaria in China. Many leaders of the Chinese Communist Party and foreign friends of China have stayed here for rehabilitation or simply, for pleasure.
Qingdao International Beer Town i s dedicated to showcasing the virtues of beer. Originally founded as a venue for holding the annual Tsingtao Beer Festival (note that the Colonial Era name for Qingdao was Tsingtao, and since the beer stems from that era (Tsingtao Beer is a German pilsener that was originally developed and brewed by the German occupiers of Qingdao during the 19th century Unequal Treaties period), it has preserved its original name), the beer town has become a year round fixture where beers from all over the world can be enjoyed.
The Qingdao International Marina & Olympic Sailing Center is located at the former Beihai dockyard in FuShan Bay adjoining Wusi (May 4th) Square and DongHai West Rd. The Sailing Regattas of the 29th Olympic Games in 2008 as well as the 13th Paralympic Games were held at this location

Mt. Laoshan
It will take you a long time to go to Mt. Laoshan .The highest peak of Mt. Laoshan rises 1,133 meters above sea level. Facing the Yellow Sea, it is one of China's major scenic resorts and has long been held as the reputation of No. 1 Famous Mountain on the Sea. It is also a famous Taoist mountain featuring both mountainous and coastal view. Among all the famous mountains in the whole China, it is the only mountain on the coast.
Taiqing Palace is the largest, oldest and most valuable of the temples in Laoshan. In its prime time, there used to be 9 great palaces, 9 great temples, and 72 nunneries in Laoshan Mountain. The most well preserved big one is T aiqing Palace. The palace holds about 140 rooms and halls with the most famous Three God's Hall, Three Purities' Hall and Three Emperor's Hall. The palace was first constructed during the reign of the first Emperor of the Northern Song Dynasty about 1000 years ago.
Food
Qingdao is rich in seafood, including fish, prawns,shellfish and sea weed as well as local foods from other areas. Qingdao explodes with regional and international deliciousness. By virtue of its seafront location, seafood rightfully dominates the menus, ranging in cooking styles from spicy Sichuan to sweet and heavy Shanghai. There are also plenty of foreign fare options including Italian, German, Japanese and Korean. Prices are flexible enough to accommodate all budgets.
Shandong Cuisine is known for its excellent seafood dishes and delicious soup and presents its food (usually deep-fried, braised, roasted or stewed) with a strong emphasis on soy sauce, shallots, and garlic. Qingdao, regarded as the "cradle of Shandong cuisine", puts a spin upon the usual Shandong dishes with its concentration on seafood (sea cucumber, scallop, conch, prawn, and red porgy). Well-known dishes include "sea cucumbers stewed with shallots", "stewed salted fish" and "celery with creamy soup". Made in simple style, these dishes are available in most restaurants.
Unique seafood recipes are naturally the best-known Qingdao culinary creations, and vegetarian restaurants offer fresh local agricultural produce, except in
mid-winter.
Tips
The best time to travel Qingdao is from end of March to early November. It is recommended to avoid the peak season in summer.
