加强中华优秀传统文化和革命传统教育成为课标修订的重点，古诗背诵推荐篇增加到72篇。

在16日举行的新闻发布会上，教育部基础教育课程教材专家工作委员会主任委员王展介绍，新修订的普通高中课程方案优化了课程结构，将课程类别调整为必修课、选修必修课和选修课，既保证了基础性，又兼顾了选择性。

在课程标准方面，各学科结合自身特点，加强了中华优秀传统文化和革命传统教育。

在语文课标中，中华优秀传统文化方面的内容贯穿必修、选择性必修和选修各个部分。

“课内外读物建议”部分，除保留原有《论语》《孟子》《庄子》外，增加了《老子》《史记》等文化经典著作，要求学生广泛阅读各类古诗文，覆盖先秦到清末各个时期。
