Germa n culture VS America n culture蒋开芳学号:2Germa nyI grew up with a dream to have a further study in Germany, although I have hearda lots of assessme ntabout Germa n, such as in flexibility, stiff ness and so on. However, I do believe that they even have known nothing authentically about Germany, while I have not went to Germany yet, but I 'e already gathered a lot of information about Germany from all kinds of social networking site and com muni cati on website. There are some reas ons why m in terested in Germa ny and it s easier for me to adapt.First of all, I d like to introduce something about education that I have known. It s quite different from our country that their higher education is separated from the professi onal educati on and their ultimate goal of educati on is not to in vest or money, Which can be con sidered to be a revoluti onary idea.Secondly, it's a nation of economy, modesty, and caution, while these features were in terpreted as con servative and stiff ness. There are some examples to expla in these misun dersta ndin gs.Example 1: We can ofte n see a sig n on the con struct ion site, which marks the completion time. In Germany, almost all of the projects will be finished as the signmarks.Example 2: I have ever seen an authentic story about a student who is the first time to catch bus. He has known that he n eeded to buy the mon thly tickets, while he has no idea that he needs to buy it on the bus station, so he said that he will buy a day tickets. However, the con ductor said: if you are going to buy mon thly tickets, youneed n' to buy today's ticket, because your mon thly ticket has in cluded todays ticket”.Through two of these examples we can find out how cauti on they are, especially in the aspect of time. (It'sreally a good habit to be pun ctual) Whatsmore, the trust among people is an important symbol of social civilization and German have deeply showed their trust among people. In a word, although there are lots of rules in Germany, yet it never lacks of huma n feeli ngs un der the rules.Thirdly, the independent personality is another fascinating feature. You will find that there is no value of middle bourgeoisie, no Germany Dream” and no one will go rush to the profitable jobs, such as, doctor, lawyer and so on. Young people are in depe ndent early and stron gly in dividualize themselves. They wortdrift with the curre nt. In most coun tries, especially in china most of people follow the fads and buy the luxury cloth even beyond their payable ability. However, in Germany, they preferto dress comfortable to fashi on able. Finally, once an unexpected discovery, I got t衣now” BauhauS' style, which is originated from Germany as a design school. Nowadays,' widely used in architecture (room decorati on), i ndustrial product ions and eve n the educati on and all of theses are exhibited in the form of aesthetics. It spreads from Germa ny to all over the world. This thought has greatly affected Germa ny in many aspects, sodlike to share this culture. All of these points are just a little part of Germany culture, while this is an epitome of Germa ny and illustrate why this n atio n can be so strong and prosperous. In conclusion, Germany in my mind, calmness, sagacity, depth, and the acme of perfect ion is absolute not on the superficial forn”.AmericaAmerica, although I appreciate some aspects of America, it still a country that is hard for me to adapt. There are some reasons as follow. When talking about America, the culture of fast food firstly comes to my min d. It seems that a hamburger with a cup of cola can be a dinn er. I have no idea of that this is true or not, but I can find that most of time American will have a easy and fast lunch and even don' know how to enjoy the real food on TV. (To be honest, it's not easy for me to live here because ofthe monotonous food. They care less about the exquisite food and they pursue the fast convenien ce. Have you ever heard a girl from Sichua n province who loves hotpot to care which restaura nts have the authe ntic An gus beef of their hamburgers?) Secondly, the culture of party must be mentioned when comes to America ' culture. We even cannot count how many types of parties, such as, Bachelor party, surprise party, holiday party and so on. Although lots of people gather together can be alive, it ' still hard for me to adapt such a noisy environment and most of time I m fond of com muni cat ing with several frie nds in a quiet en vir onment.Thirdly, as we all know that America is a culture melting pot, which means that people come from differe nt coun tries and it 'really very hard to remember a n ame, such as Gustaf Gran stra nd, Gustav Kenn est ing and so on .'tvery embarrass ing whe n some one says hello ” to you and you eve n cannot remember his/her n ame. Which may be my own thought, but I believe no one will be comfortable whe n some one forgets their n ame. There is no doubt that America has a lot of highlights, such as the independency, in dividuality and so on. It 'just in some degree hard for to adapt.。
