纵观近20年的大学英语改革,笔者大致把它分为1999-20XX年的迷茫期,20XX-20XX年的探究期,20XX年之后的进展期。
1999年教育部颁布了《大学英语教学大纲》,为大学英语教学的一片迷茫首次提供了全国参考标准,特别是语言功能性参考,如明确学生应该掌握的词汇量、语法功能等,当时的大学英语多为每周12-16学时。
20XX年,教育部启动了“高等学校本科教学质量与教学改革工程”,大学英语教学也紧跟步伐,拉开了改革的序幕。
20XX年制定的《大学英语课程教学要求》(以下简称《课程要求》)试行稿和20XX年颁布的正式稿成了后来全国180多所改革试点院校在设置大学英语课程时的重要参考标准和行动指南,《课程要求》提出尽量保证大学英语课程在本科总学分中占10%,据统计,各院校的大学英语课时数基本为每周12学时。
在《课程要求》指导下的大学英语课程设置与过去相比有许多改善,主要表现在:一是鼓舞“学生主体化”,更加重视听说能力,以前没有口语课的学校纷纷开设了口语课;二是提倡“个性化”和“自主性”学习,重视了现代化教学技术在教学中的应用,不少学校为大学英语课设置了XX络听力课,加强了相应的资金投入和硬件建设;三是课程设置注重“工具性”与“人文性”并存,更加关注文化因素的引导和人文精神的培养。

过程教学法对大学英语四级写作水平的影响摘要:综观大学生英语写作现状,法仍普遍使用传统的结果教学,使得大学生的写作能力并没有明显的提高。
本研究希望通过调查非英语专业的大学生在英语四级写作中的能力,了解其现状及影响写作能力的因素,发现学生在写作方面存在的问题,并在此基础上探讨培养大学生有效提高写作能力的方法和策略,以增加对英语写作的能力,为培养英语应用型人才开辟一条有效的途径。

Differences between Chinese Culturesand Western CulturesAs the technology of communication and transportation developed rapidly, more and more contact with the West is unavoidable. Finding out the differences may help us come to a better understanding of Western and Chinese culture.Here are ten typical and generalized differences between Chinese cultures and Western cultures.Firstly, Western culture emphasizes self-reliance and Chinese culture trends towards helping each other. Westerns believe that people should rely on themselves. They also expect others to do the same. As the later, we should show our respect to them and more or less take care of them. In the West, showing little respects to the elder do make the society cold and unpleasant. I think there is no need to use refusing respect to prove “I am not old”. The Western society requiring the elders to do these have no difference with the ancient Chinese requiring women to keep their “special rules”.Secondly, showing respect to the elders does not contradict with being equal. Young people and old people still have the same right. Someone may ask, “How about offering seat to the elders?”We offer seat for their disable not their age. If a young man is ill, he deserves to be offered, too. In this way people may be more equal.Thirdly, equal is not absolute. I think it should be considered with public case and private case. The president and a vagrant should be equal in private life. They should be treated same. However, in public life, a little difference of rank should be clear. It is the base of teamwork,especially large group. In this case, people should not be equal.Lastly, there is no best culture. Every society has its own system which the corresponding culture is suitable for. Finding the most suitable culture and trying to make it more suitable should be the task of human being.Now, will the meeting of two different culture cause misunderstanding, disagreement or conflict?Of course it will. What we should do is to avoid and handle them.At the beginning we should find out what trouble will be there.Firstly, you can imagine that a Chinese is in a Western country. He shows his respect and care to the elders on a bus. But it seems make them uncomfortable and even angry.This trouble is avoidable. If you want to go abroad, you should make yourself know something about intercultural communication before setting off. Then you can decide how to be friendly in a proper way.If the misunderstanding has taken place, there are still something you can do. When you feel the Westerners being uncomfortable, stop your behavior. If they are really annoyed, you can try to make explanation like, “You know, Chinese are very warm-hearted” or “I will be sorry if that made you feel uncomfortable”.Secondly, you can imagine that a Westerner student is in Chineseuniversity. He disagreed with an old teacher, and debated with the old teacher. “以读促写”:走出英语专业高年级阶段写作教学的困境摘要:英语写作是一项对综合能力要求较高的实践活动,然而进入高年级阶段,英语写作教学陷入了一个困境。
在学生的写作思维已成定式的情况下,英语写作教学出路何在?笔者结合教学实践,认为“以读促写”在提高学生写作能力的同时,也能培养学生的思辨和初步的研究能力,帮助英语写作教学走出困境。
关键词:以读促写;英语专业;高年级阶段;写作教学中图分类号:g623.31一、引言在英语的五种语言技能中,写作是最综合最难提高的。
尽管广大英语教师对提高英语写作教学做出了不懈的努力,但成效离预期目标和教学大纲的规定相差甚远,尤其进入高年级阶段后,学生的写作能力处于一个难以突破的阶段。
本文作者认为在教学中采用“以读促写”的教学方法,对帮助英语专业高年级阶段写作教学走出困境有一定的帮助。
二、现状分析在英语专业基础学习阶段,英语写作课程的主要教学目标是让学生掌握英语写作的基本技能,其中包括语言和语法的规范性、段落、短文、摘要以及描写、叙述、说明和议论四大英语体裁和应用文的写作。
经过两年系统的英语写作训练,学生基本上能够根据要求完成写作任务,语言及语法与入学时相比,也有了不同程度的提高。
这是教学的可喜之处。
然而本文作者发现,受专业四级写作模板的影响,大多数学生在得到写作题目后,基本上都按照已经形成的写作模板进行填充式写作。
不可否认,这是顺利通过考试的捷径,然而,长此以往将会禁锢学生的主动性思维。
尽管文章没有语言语法上的错误,但由于固定的文章结构和呆板的句式,让文章缺乏生气。
在学生的写作思维已成定式的情况下,高年级阶段的英语写作教学出路何在?教什么?该怎么教?这是大多数教师一直在探究的问题。
笔者结合教学实践,认为“以读促写”是促进英语专业高年级阶段学生写作水平提高的有效途径。
三、相关研究美国语言学家克拉申博士用输入假设来解释语言的习得。
他认为,只要人们接收到足够的可理解性语言输入,那么人们就可以习得语言。
语篇分析与大学英语教学摘要:常见的英语教学方法只注重对词、句的语法讲解而忽略对文章进行语篇分析,导致教学效果不理想。
教师应将语言分析和语篇分析结合起来,引导学生对文章的体裁、主题、结构、文化背景等进行分析,深刻领会作者的写作意图,准确把握语篇的脉络,真正吃透文章内容从而提高大学英语的教学质量。
关键词:语篇分析大学英语教学中图分类号:h319文献标识码:a文章编号:1673-9795(2012)01(b)-0000-001 引言传统的英语教学模式注重从音素与字母的对应关系及词组与句子的对应关系等方面入手,依赖语法分析来实现对单句的结构和语义的理解,用能否把所学内容译成准确无误的母语作为衡量理解的标准,而忽视了紧扣语篇语境,对文章的体裁、主题、结构、上下文衔接等方面作全面的分析、讲解。
学生也把主要的精力都集中于记单词、理解语法上,而对整篇文章的语篇结构并非完全掌握,或者对文章中作者所要表达的深层意义并非完全理解。
久而久之,导致老师尽管付出了大量的时间和精力,学生却还只能停留在对字词句的简单理解上,即使文章结构清晰、语意明了,他们还是不能站在更高层次上,进一步吃透句子的深层含义以及语篇的中心思想,不能准确把握文章的脉络和寓意,也就是说不能从语篇的角度上来理解文章。
本文就如何进行语篇分析以及语篇分析与提高大学英语教学质量的关系进行了探讨。

【摘要】大学英语写作教学重要性日益突显,提高大学生英语写作能力具有重要意义。
本文分析了传统大学英语写作教学中存在的问题及成因,并探讨了解决大学生英语写作教学问题的对策,提出培养学生的英语句子意识,强化造句能力,加强基本写作技能训练,加强不同文体的篇章写作技巧训练,读写结合是有效的训练措施。
【关键词】大学英语写作教学句子意识语篇
一、大学英语写作教学的重要性
英语写作是当代大学生不可或缺的技能。
现代社会对高校毕业生英语口语和写作能力的要求越来越高。
新修订的《大学英语教学大纲》规定:“大学英语教学的目的是:培养学生具有较强的阅读能力;一定的听、说、写、译的能力。
”[1]与旧大纲规定的“培养学生……具有初步的写作能力”相比,新大纲明显提高了对学生写作能力的要求。
然而,目前大学生的英语写作能力又如何呢?“一提到学生的作文,教师总能列出一大堆有关语言方面的问题:拼写错误、语法错误、句式单调、缺乏连贯、中心不突出、内容乏味等。
”[2] “学生写作的主要问题还是集中在写出正确的句子、使用恰当的词汇等方面,即基本写作技能问题。
”[3]一旦让学生“在规定的时间里写出一篇作文,他们就束手无策,落笔错误百出”。

和导致大学生写作能力低下的因素,探讨提高大学生英语写作水平的有效训练手段和教学方法,已成为当务之急。
二、传统大学英语写作教学中存在的问题及成因
(一)认识上存在偏差
英语能力分为“听、说、读、写”四个层次,四个层次之间应该是相辅相成的有机结合。
近年来,尽管我们一直提倡“听说领先,读写跟上”,但“写”远远落后于“听”“说”“读”。
同时,由于考试”指挥棒”的影响,大部分英语教师把写作仅仅看作是一种应试技巧去训练,而非一种语言能力去培养。
由此导致教师在写作教学中过分注重写作技巧的介绍,直接导致学生对技巧和固定句式的死记硬背、生搬硬套,反映在写作中就会产生词法、句法等方面的错误。
(二)传统教学方法的缺陷
传统教学法具体到英语写作教学,主要指“结果教学法”。
这种教学方法把重点放在写作成品上,首先由教师提供范文,进行分析讲解,然后模仿范文进行写作,最后教师进行评改、评分。
学生个人的写作过程都是在教师的支配下完成的,极少有自由创作的空间。
写作成了机械的输入和输出的过程,枯燥乏味。
教师花费大量时间和精力批改作文,学生只关心分数的高低,对教师的评语和修改的部分往往不认真阅读,因而同样的错误在写作中反复发生。
同时,教师的批改只注重文章的语言形式而忽视文章的实质内容,评语不恰当、不准确等,都是普遍存在的问题。
这种教学法显然已不
适应当前的英语写作教学实际。
三、解决大学生英语写作教学问题的对策探讨
(一)培养学生的英语句子意识,强化造句能力,为连句成段打下坚实的基础
以上列举的学生写作错误的诸种表现充分反映了学生遣词造句能力太差,这是因为,一方面,他们未能将语言运用的多方面规律性的要求内化为大脑中语言操作的机制,成为一种不假思索的心理定势;另一方面,他们又未能在语感上随时给予提示和监控。
我们认为,培养学生句子意识的最好方法是让学生理解和强化记忆7个基本句型,因为它们是句子意识的基本格局,是千变万化的句子结构的雏形,也是从千差万别的句子中归纳出来的最基本的结构原型。
根据发生论,心理发生还要从一个较初级的结构转化为一个较复杂的结构。
7个基本句型可以通过增添修饰语或通过并列与从属连词的衔接,“使句子从短到长,从单调到多变,从只有‘主干’到衍生出各种‘枝蔓’,从正常到发生各种‘移动’……学生有了这样的句子意识,就能减少造句困难,从而获得丰富句子变化的能力,为英文写作打下较好的基础。
在此基础上,学习者不但能造出正确的句子,而且能在句子结构边界之内对各成分加以扩展和调整,使表达较能适应内容的需要。
在学生词汇量逐渐增加的基础上,就能逐渐提高写作水平,写出没有错误或绝少错误的通畅达意的文章来。

(二)针对学生写作基本功太差的实际,我们应狠抓语言基础知
识教学,加强基本写作技能训练
词汇和语法是构成语言三大要素的两种最基本的要素,也是进行交际和思维的最重要手段。
改进大学英语写作教学,提高学生的写作能力,必须从抓语言基础训练入手,狠抓词汇、语法教学。
在词汇教学中,教师要明确大纲对词汇的要求,加强词汇学习策略指导,特别要抓好复用式词汇教学。
对大纲中规定掌握的词汇的每个意义的使用条件和用法,它的搭配关系,同义词和近义词的细微区别及构词法等重点讲授。
语法是语言的一个重要组成部分,它是语言的组织规律,它向读者提供词型变化以及如何组词成句的规则。
抓好词汇和语法教学,有助于提高学生遣词造句的能力,能有效避免学生作文中的汉化句子。
(三)重视语篇教学,加强不同文体的篇章写作技巧训练
精读课教师一定要正确处理句型教学和语篇教学的关系,重视并认真实施语篇教学法。
在精泛读教学中,在教师的指导下,应尽量让学生总结出各段的主题思想和整篇的主题思想,并列出提纲;让学生确定文章的体裁。
通过对课文段落写作特点的分析,讲授段落展开的具体方法,然后给出一个与主题相近的段首句,要求学生进行模仿性写作;或者去掉段落中承上启下的词语让学生填空,以此来培养学生句子写作的逻辑性和连贯性,训练组织段落的能力。
通过讲评课文、分析主题思想、篇章布局、语篇连接手段,引导学生掌握各种文体的写作特点和写作技巧。
进行语篇分析还能帮助学生了解英语语篇结构模式及其和汉语语篇模式的区别,了解英语语篇在表意、信息传递上的
特点,帮助学生写作时布局谋篇,写出条理清楚、层次分明、逻辑性强的好文章。
(四)以读带写,以写促读,读写结合
阅读与写作密不可分。
阅读是写作的基础,又是写作知识和技巧的源泉。
通过阅读我们可以开拓思路,扩大视野,更新观念,可以从阅读中吸收营养,积累写作素材,学习写作技巧,获取写作经验,提高写作能力。
“只读不写,读往往不巩固,不持久,不精确;相反,读写结合,可以使读更加广阔,更加深入,更加牢靠,更加持久……精读课课时多,周期长,范文质量高。
能够适时地为学生提供各种各样的写作机会,有效地激发他们的写作热情,并让他们在相对真实的情景中去感知、体味、熟悉、运用各种写作技巧。
”[7]泛读教材内容多,题材广,可以增强学生有关英语文化方面的知识,扩大学生的知识面,积累语言素材,提高
认知能力。
泛读课上,在强调速度和理解的同时,不妨从写作角度对文章进行再利用,帮助学生了解文章层次,把握文章的内在联系,从而进一步理解文章的思想内容。
通过阅读保证足量的语言输入应是加强写作能力培养的一种有效途径。
