Vampire Dairy
I have no idea if any other group of people have ever seen the U.S. TV drama called
the Vampire Dairies. But I am pretty sure that most of our university students have
seen this drama.Like many other U.S. TV dramas, the Vampire Dairies also has many
seasons. And yet there are only two and a half seasons online, and it's a pity that the
Vampire Dairies will be back next year. Some people call this kind of periodicity of
broadcasting the U.S. TV dramas a American way of doing such things.People say
they suspend the drama because the stuff of the entire crew are on their celebration of
Thanks Giving Day.Some people just are angry about the pause of broadcasting the
Vampire Dairies, because they are so interested in it that they cannot wait to watch the
following episodes.I can easily understand them while I am also a big fan of it.
I love the U.S. TV dramas, and I love the Vampire Dairies most.As you can tell from
the name of the Vampire Dairies,it is a drama about vampires verses human
beings.Trough out the history of America, there are stories about vampires just like
Chinese are curious about zombies.
From what I can tell of the first season of the Vampire Dairies,it is a love
story. Also, there is blood bond as brothers and friendship in it.The female heroine is
named Elena Gilbert(Nina Dobrev). She lives in a town called Mystic Falls which
locates in the southern area of Virginia.Aside from the town's foundation in 1860 by
the Founding Families, the town also has a long history of vampires. As the Founding
Council secretly guard the town mainly from vampires, they are seemingly unware of
the supernatural beings such as ghosts, werewolves, and witches.
Elena Gilbert is a child of the Founding Families.Stephan(hero of the series)-a 167
yeas old vampire who loves Kathrine(-a vampire older than Stephan) comes to find
Elena to find back his love with Katherine, because Elena looks exactly like Katherine
since Katherine is the ancestor of Elena. As time passes by,Stephan's older brother
Damon also comes back in town to revenge his younger brother Stephan. From then
on ,the supernatural thing gets more and more complicated.
As a vampire,Stephan only steals blood from hospitals and drink blood of animals, but
his brother does not.Damon loves human blood and he bites human beings and drinks
their blood, then he compels them to forget or just kills them for his safety. He pretends
to be a human and takes part in the Founders Council for his protection from being
found as a vampire.
Damon also fancies Elena and as proud and a vampire from his respect,he does not
admit that he has feelings. But in fact he does have emotion,he loves Elena and he
cares about his brother Stephan. He does everything he can to hide what he truly is.
Other story lines revolve around the other inhabitants of the town, most notably
Elena's younger brother Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen), Elena's best friend
Bonnie Bennett (Katerina Graham), Elena's close friend, Caroline Forbes (Candice
Accola), Elena's childhood friend, Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) and Elena's
childhood friend and ex-boyfriend, Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig). The town's politics
are orchestrated by descendants of the original founding families, all comprising a
"Founders' Council". Some of the founding families of Mystic Falls include the Salvatores, the Gilberts, the Fells, the Forbes and the Lockwoods.
Although the show is based on the books of the same name, many of the characters
are changed, although the main story lines from the original books are
maintained. Why Elena is the heroine, from the whole story,we can find that she is a
key, linking the vampire ancestors with the descendants. In the drama, supernaturals call
her the Doppelganger. She is closely connected to a curse which is made by an ancient
witch.
The pilot episode was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, but the rest of the
episodes have been filmed in Covington, Georgia (which doubles as the fictional
small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia) and various other communities around Greater
Atlanta, to take advantage of local tax incentives.
The series was given a full, 22-episode order on October 21, 2009 after strong ratings
for the first half of the season.
On February 16, 2010, The CW announced that it had renewed the show for a second
season, which premiered on September 9, 2010. On April 26, 2011, The CW renewed
the show for a third season. The third season premiered on September 15, 2011.But it
is now being suspended again.
President of The CW Mark Pedowitz said in an interview at the summer TCA's that
the Vampire Diaries didn't receive an extra episode order at the request of Kevin
