Section I Talking Face to Face
The topic area is to inform and talk about recipes. The focus of functions is on the patterns that are
appropriate for giving instructions concerning preparing materials, ingredients and
cooking.

1. explanation of the recipes, leading Ss understand the dialogue by the recipes.
2. Ss follow T and read aloud.
3. Pairwork of reading.

--Ss listen to the tape for twice and then read aloud.
Section II Being All Ears
1. Teacher makes it clear that she is going to play the three parts all at once with each part played
twice.
2. Ss do the exercise in this environment.
3. T play the tape again with each part separated from each other and twice for each one.

Teaching Conclusion
Based on the introduction of background information and detailed explanations
of the expressions of the topic, the students instructed by the teacher have
completed well the tasks as expected.
However, special terms rising from recipes and food culture bring problems for
students understanding of the dialogue and passage.
Meanwhile, teacher should always encourage students to guess some words’
