• 咨询信的主要目的是为了寻求所需的信息、 资料和情况等。写这类书信时应注意礼节， 特别要注意使用句式的选择，在询问问题 时切不可使用带有生硬或命令口吻的词句， 也不可把别人的帮助视为理所当然，要使 用“Would you please tell me…”之类的正 式疑问句式。考生还要注意只能就收信人 能够提供的信息进行提问。

3.3 Guidelines for replying Enquiries
The replying letters should be answered fully, promptly and courteously. Thank the writer of the enquiry for the letter in question Supply all the information requested and don‟t forget to “sell”your products. Provide additional information, not specifically requested by the customer, so long as it is relevant. In case the required goods are not available, explain the situation and introduce some other substitutes. Conclude with one or two lines encouraging the customer to place orders and assuring him or her of good service.
