Activity 5
This activity is based on in primary school English Book 8, Lesson 7“My
mother is looking a dress for me.”
Purpose:to practising talking about have to look for clothes.
Instructions: The teacher helps the students review the patterns and words
of describing clothes.They work in groups to talk about clothes.
Procedures:
Step 1: The teacher asked the students to prepare for some pictures about
clothes at home in the previous class, and choose two colours and two
sizes to color their pictures.In class the teacher uses these pictures to
review the learned colors and sizes.
Step 2: In class the teacher helps the students review the following
sentence patterns .
1、A: Can I help you?/ What can I do for you?
B: I want / would like...
2、A:What’s your favourite color ?
B:My favourite color is ...
3、A:How much is it?
B:It is ...
Step 3: The teacher asks the students to practise with several other
students in the same way and make sure they can use the words we have
learned about colours and sizes. Step 4:The teacher introduces a new pattern : What size does she wear?
Step 5: the teacher says the words one by one and let the students to
speak the meanings of Chinese together.
Step 6:The teacher teaches the passage and tells the difficulties, language
points to the students.

What size does she wear?
What color do you like?
How much is it ? How much 询问价钱
Step 7:The teacher asks the students to practise the dialogue in groups. In
each group, two students act out the dialogue in the front of the class.
Step 8:The teacher shows a picture to the students about a dress and ask
some questions about it ; such as: What colour is it ? How much is it ?
What size do you wear ?
Step 9:Three groups are asked to show their performance in the front of
the class.
