本课时是人教版英语七年级下册第五单元Why do you like pandas?中的SectionB短文。

Step 1 Warm-up

Watch the pictures of animals on the screen, say the names of each animal ,read and repeat them one by one.
Step 2 Free talk
Talk about the animals you like with the sentence pattern:
I like... because ....
Ask students to talk and let them know they should love animals. Step 3 Presentation
1. Watch a video about protecting animals to let them know about the
importance of saving animals that are in great.
2. Work on activity 2a.
Check the animals that you think are in great danger, and then talk about the reasons that they are in danger.
3.Learn the main words and their usages in the passage in 2b.
4.Know about the culture of Thailand about elephants.
Step 4 Reading
1.Fast reading
Ask students to listen to the recording of the passage silently and choose the best title for it .
2.Careful reading
Task 1. Read the passage again carefully and think about the following questions:
1). Where are the students from?
2). Are elephants smart animals?
3). Why are elephants in great danger?
4). When is Thai Elephant Day?
Task 2. Read again and complete the mind map in 2c.
