摘 要:俚语是语言的重要组成部分,离开俚语学习外语是不现实的.本文对美国"钱币"在美国英

语中丰富的表达方法作了比较全面的分类概述和总结,不但给出了俚语丰富的语言材料,而且从不同的视

角对这些材料进行分析,分类,总结,在指出俚语表达和运用的一些规律的同时,认为了解掌握一定的俚

语对外语的学习和外语教学具有促进作用.

1. 引 言

说到"钱(money)"字,作为雅语出现在英语中的"钱(money)"及美国钱币主单位"美元(dollar)"

和辅币单位"美分(cent)",早就为英语学习者所知.但是在英语中丰富多彩且富有活力的成分——俚语

里,尤其是美国英语俚语中的"钱","美元"和"美分"三者的表达法却鲜为以英语为外语的学习者所知.

俚语大多是直接来自底层社会生活的"厨房里的语言",具有直接明了,生动形象,丰富灵活,自然

到位等等表达效果,因而广泛为社会各亚文化群所使用,有的俚语甚至成为某些阶层成员的标志性特征或
