题目1:

How I Finance My College Education

With the development of higher education in China and greater number of college students

admitted, universities can no longer be financed by the government only and students have to pay

partly for their college education.

There are many ways for students to finance their college education. Most students ask their

parents to pay for the tuition and fees. They can also apply for scholarship. Most universities set

up scholarship to offer money to the poor students who do well in entrance exams and reward

those who work well at university. Students can also earn money by taking part-time jobs. What's

more, some poverty-stricken students can also apply for the low-interest loans.

As for me, I would prefer earning scholarship. It means I must study hard and try to be a top

student, which has always been my goal. After all, the main task of a student is to study. Besides

getting scholarship can also prove my ability and is helpful for my study.

题目2:

Private Schools

In China, more and more students are sent to private schools for better education. At the

same time, more and more teachers quit their jobs in public schools to apply for a position in

private schools for a higher salary. Consequently, private schools are booming in China in recent

years.

There are many factors for private schools to be set up, but the following are the most typical

ones. For one thing, the change in the policy ends the state monopoly of the education system in

China. For another, there is no lack of application for enrollment, because, with more money than

public schools, private schools can offer students first-class facilities and teaching equipment and

attract more qualified and experienced teachers.

Although private schools are popular, strictly speaking, only those children from rich families can attend because the tuition is too high. Anyway, private schools are still on the experimental

stage. As an old saying goes, well begun is half done. I am sure that the future of private schools

will be brighter.

题目3:

Electronic Dictionary

In recent years electronic dictionary has become very popular as a study aid among students,

especially among college students.

Compared with the traditional dictionary, electronic dictionary has many advantages. First,

it's obviously very handy and convenient. Besides, due to its multifunction, it's also very helpful. It

can not only translate words from English to Chinese, but vice versa. Some even can teach the

leaner how to pronounce a word. Most important of all, most of the entries in electronic

dictionaries are comparatively updated.

On the other hand, electronic dictionary has its disadvantages. First, the definitions in the

entries are very limited. In addition, there are not enough explanations, patterns, or examples to

illustrate the correct usage of words. Last but not the least, constant use of this study aid can make

people too much attached to the dictionary and become lazy, which will lead them to develop a
